Foxes_Trust Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 For those that didn't hear it: The MM interview on Radio Leicester tonight mentioned Chris Weale as a goalkeeper and MM said it was a keeper our goalkeeping coach was keen on, from the Bristol City site: "Chris joined City on a Bosman transfer in the summer of 2006 citing the 'Gary Johnson factor' as the key reasoning behind the deal. Injured his cruciate knee ligament whilst playing for Yeovil Town in 2005/06 but now back fit and challenging hard for the number one spot with Adriano Basso." Then states he went back to Yeovil on loan last season. MM said weale was one option they were looking at. Also said they were looking for a right back, a "strong" midfielder and a striker. If the striker = Cox, still leaves the no cover for Howard issue The details on N'Guessan came from the Lincoln end

Brainy Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 This won't please those who said they didn't want Bristol City rejects.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Chris Weale is an interesting one - a lot was thought of him, but reports i got was that since his knee injury he couldn't kick for toffee. Hopefully thats been sorted now?

Guest Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 In answer to my earlier question Chris Weale ladies and gents, we'll have goals coming from all over the park next season
Koke Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 I hope to God we haven't paid £2m for that little fucker. Decent player, no doubt, but if Swindon are demanding that much then West Brom are welcome to him, in my opinion.

Koke Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 In won't be that much, will it?mandaric is a sly old goaty man. The transfer window is like a pussy magnet for Mandaric. He too excited, he can't keep his hands and opinions to himself. I would say even £1.5m is too much for Cox.

Bert Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 I wonder if Kareem's had a spliff. I'm also wondering how many people are choking the blue-veined custard chucker over tonight's news.

FleckneyFox Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 Chris Weale would be an extremely average signing! Especially after all the talk of Turnbull who would be awesome. We havent had a good permanent keeper since Walker and its about time we got one.
flanimal Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 That Welle guy... does Nigel Pearson have a love of goalkeepers that score? I mean, wasn't he manager of Carlisle when Jimmy Glass scored one!? Screw it, if Welle can head a ball that good, he can be a replacement for Howard! I actually think Cox is easily worth £1.5m - and if he keeprs improving, maybe £2m. But I hope they've paid around £1.2m.
Candidcamera Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 We have got in for players while other clubs still involved in playoffs. All very positive so far. Cox and N'Guessan will strengthen the squad.
maddog Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 Cheers knowitall. But we all sort of knew that already Any new news on random players we haven't been linked with who we are signing
General Smuts Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 Gradel will lead us to the Premiership one day. I fooking well hope he learns how to cross in the meantime. N'Guessan and Max are blatantly going to fall in love with each other. I hope the both go to crossing lessons together at the Ryan Giggs soccer school. fook it i have a VHS of Giggsy's skills from back in the 90's i'll gladly lend em that ****er!
carterfox90 Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 cox would be a great signing imo n'guessan heard good & bad things about him goes missing a lot in games then has a run of a few bad games then plays great in the next four or five games one of those players
jonw88 Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal...ity/8048694.stm Swindon reject two bids for Cox Cox still has one year left on his Swindon contract Swindon Town have turned down two bids for top scorer Simon Cox since the end of the season. One of the offers was from Leicester City, and it is thought the other club could be Scottish champions Celtic. So we haven't bid enough obviously! If Celtic are getting involved though we might lose out...
