It says in the people that Coventry have made a bid of £700,000 for him but he prefers a move to Leicester. He is a 25 year old Northen Ireland international and plays in the midfield.

more of a playmaker in the CM role.

Saw him a few times when he was at forest and looked pretty good!

Havent we got enough midfielders now? :S

Strikers please. ;)

Your right. We need a decent striker e.g. beckford to help score us some goals because I honestly don't see fryatt and howard scoring many goals in the championship.

Does that make sense, have Leicester made a bid for him, if yes why not print that, if no why mention it?

How many midfielders have we signed ? I know of just one, Wellens. The team needs another midfielder probably why we are connected to them in the press. I would like to see others come through but that was limited to King last year.

I agree about the striker but so too does the manager he was let down by Cox.

Or was let down by milan! Possibly.

If Clemence does not do anything of note again this season, we need another midfielder.

I reckon we have a pretty strong midfield in terms of ability now, but a pretty weak midfield in terms of depth of cover. Another man in there would make a big difference, particularly when we get injuries.

If we were to sign another midfielder then hopefully it will be a loan i.e Cleverley.

I think another midfielder of quality if available would be a signing. Other than that I agree about loans. We have little cover in midfield.

The Cox deal was strange but no telling what happened.

Clemence will not do nothing again this year. So in my option we need another midfield player and a striker maybe two. Beckford will end up at Newcastle unless MM tables a bid for 2.2 mil or more which will never happen, but you never know. How many goals did Billy Kee score for the first team last year say no more. He is not ready at the moment but soon will be. But I guess that NP has his fingers in a few pies at the moment and will bring someone in who is going to score 20 goals if we really want a play off place. :scarf:

Why wasn't King playing yesterday? On his way out and Clingan will be the replacement? Or did he just pick up an injury, which is most likely.

Howard and Fryatt didn't play yesterday either so they're blatantly on their way to Burnley.

Howard played :dunno:

I wouldn't say no to him, Norwich fans rate him highly from what I gather. We could find room for him if we got rid of some dead wood.

How many games did he play? Look at his record in the games he has played in. Can't argue with it. he can only beat whats put in front of him and he's done that pretty convincingly in my opinion.

Ok, I like Sammy Clingan as a footballer. Nottingham Forest fans rated him and so do the Norwich fans and what I have seen of him, I would love him to be a Leicester City player.

BUT, in my opinion we have to many midfielders. Surely Wellens and King/Oakley will start and then we also have Clemence to return as well as Weselowski although I think he might go.

Nigel should do what he did best last year and get a loanee in such as Cleverley if we were to get another midfielder.

Your right. We need a decent striker e.g. beckford to help score us some goals because I honestly don't see fryatt and howard scoring many goals in the championship.

Got to agree with you there. I also don't see Fryatt and Howard scoring in this division.

However, I wouldn't see Beckford scoring much more. Then again, if we only have DJ Campbell/Dickov as back up then I would take Beckford - another striker please Nigel!!

How many games did he play? Look at his record in the games he has played in. Can't argue with it. he can only beat whats put in front of him and he's done that pretty convincingly in my opinion.

Look, I am a big fan of the younger stars. I would rather see some clubs produce more younger players then keep on buying foriegners.

But, I think you have to look at our squad before you look at the younger players in our team. I mean, at the minute, Fryatt and Howard will be the 'strikeforce' with back up from DJ Campbell and Paul Dickov - and to be honest, I haven't got confidence in all four of them!

Before we use Kee/Chambers etc, we need another proven striker because if one of those players was to get injured the pressure would be on the younger players. Then, if they are not scoring, we (the fans) will get on their back and they will loose confidence and we won't be scoring at all!

Then again, where are the proven strikers?

We have been linked with;

Beckford - not proven and Keogh - good player but not one to score 20+.

We need to buy players to buy the goals! And I don't think at this time (with only 4 recognized strikers), we can afford to reliy on the younger players.

Sure, they may have been scoring for fun at a lower level and in the friendlies against Loughborough but you have to realize that it is a lower level and there may be to much pressure on them to jump to the first team.

In recent years, a striker that has done well (like Chambers, like Kee) in the academy has been used in the first team but has not been good enough and then eventually shipped out.

Emile Heskey (ok, he was a huge success), Chris 'O Grady (come on, rubbish) and Tommy Wright (the odd goal apart from that, dare I say rubbish!) and then I cannot think of anymore!

All I am saying is, lets not put to much pressure on 'em early doors because the pressure may get to them and they may not score at all. And before you know it, they have been sold to a different club. Take 'O Grady for example, he come up to the first team and didn't score that many goals. Before you knew it, he had been sold to another club and now (still a young lad) he has played for Rotherham, Oldham, Leicester and Stockport and I don't want that to happen to Kee and Chambers etc.

Give them time to meture abit more and then play them in the first team.

By all means, bring them off the bench and if they do score keep on playing them from the bench and if they keep scoring put them in the starting line up and if they keep scoring then I will take all this back becuase they may end up like Emile Heskey!

It would appear that we are more likely to sign Clingan now that this has happened.

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has accused Sammy Clingan's agent of sinking a deal to bring the Norwich midfielder to the Ricoh Arena.

The Northern Ireland international, 25, would have been the Sky Blues' first signing of the close season.

Coleman told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire: "I advised the chairman not to pay the agent.

"He's done nothing for the player. We didn't get the player because of the agent and that's unfortunate."

Clingan has attracted interest from other clubs following Norwich's relegation to League One last season and was left out of the Canaries' squad for their pre-season tour of Scotland.

Coleman also added that while he is desperate to keep hold of his key players like Danny Fox, Keiren Westwood and Aron Gunnarsson, he is also realistic in the wake of the departure of Scott Dann to neighbours Birmingham.

He said: "We know what's just happened with Scotty Dann.

"I would never lie to the supporters. If there was a massive bid for one of those players the odds are they'll be out the door."

I think he might be lined up as a replacement for an Aston Villa bound King.:unsure::ph34r:

I heard they'd been after Delph.

Obviously Leeds have admitted defeat in their efforts to get him out of King's pocket then.
