Steven Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 I heard they'd been after Delph.Obviously Leeds have admitted defeat in their efforts to get him out of King's pocket then. It seems Delph has been priced out of the market. It is only a guess.

Sammy Clingan, 18 N.Ireland caps. 25 years old. Coventry and Cardiff were both linked with him first. Leicester City have come in showing interest since them. Steve Beaglehole will be involved with this one. This has the 'ring' of probability about it!

'oh no king is going now for sure what will we do, where did i put my gun, fryatt and howard wont cut it - i dont know why they wont, they just wont ok! im psyschic, believe me, we need to go abroad and by some 40 goal a season striker for 20 grand and make him play for toblerone then we will save money on wages oh and while youre at it tell pearson we need a striker i dont think he knows yet, i think he has double vision and sees we have an extra striker when he lines all the players up for training so let him know we need striker, ok we need a striker ok tell him we need a striker, dont you think we need a striker, i think we need a striker do you think pearson or mandaric knows we need a striker, do you think said striker knows we need him!??' sorry to go a bit mental but reading these things sometimes really does make you go a bit wappy!

Most Leicester fans seem to realise this whole King to Villa stuff is absolute garbage. I do not want to upset anyone here, and no doubt King will improve, but the honest truth is we will not be good enough for the top six if young King plays too many games for us next season. He ain't good enough ( let's say 'yet' ). For the first half of last season Oakley had to cover for King's workload, although his fitness did improve as the season went on, and he did have a better tail end to the campaign. Strength, pace, power and physical presence are needed with enough quality to combine into a winning unit, and King, I don't believe will play too big a part in that, likewise Gradel will have a lot to prove if we are going to see him on a regular basis, especially if Sammy Clingan arrives.

I do not know much about this Clingan bloke! I'd never heard of him until a week ago. I do have a bit of faith in Pearson's evaluations ( come to that the news that the Cov manager is really peed off because he ain't getting him, and the fairly decent Cardiff manager is interested in him as well ), gives a bit of confidence that the information you are promoting may not be as entirely dependable as you may think.

Babylon Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Yeah but we really need a new striker!! Don't you think!? Does the signing of a midfielder mean we can't sign a striker then? Have we used up our quota of players? The facts are Wesolowski is not really rated and Clemence has been out for over a year. An injury to one of our players would leave us short again, just as it did last year when we had to play people out of position quite a lot.

I have put together the fact that Villa have gone cold on Delph because of the price, we all know a player that has Delph in his pocket and that we are supposedly interested in yet another midfielder. Yes I am kidding but I could see it happening.
