SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 I think Villa can continue to steadily improve needs to look at the defence a bit. Going the other way i think Pompey might have a bit of a shocker.
ousefox Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 I can't see Pompey or Burnley staying up at all. Man City will probably take the place of Everton in the top 6.
AyewJoking Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Wigan to struggle. Martinez to be sacked by christmas.
lou Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Much as it grieves me to say it............... Forest! Good manager and Chairman thats backing him to the hilt and some damn good signings this Summer.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 August 2009 Author Posted 4 August 2009 Yuri Zhirkov to establish him self as a very very good player
Durnerz Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Portsmouth,Burnley and Hull for the drop methinks. Improvement wise i'd say the league will be more or less the same. In ours I quite fancy West Brom still to bounce back and possibly Middlesbrough.
Ultra Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Villa will go backwards this season. Both Everton and Man City will overtake them. MON hasn't yet dealt with the main problem from last season - the lack of depth in the squad. Bolton and Sunderland should improve significantly on last season. Portsmouth and Stoke, on the other hand, might do rather less well than last season. In the Championship, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday and QPR will make more progress this year. Forest will make mid-table but no higher - their continuing defensive weaknesses will see to that. I can't see them finishing above us or Derby.
Hitesh Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Pompey are going down this season. They have only got 14 outfield players! I can see Sunderland doing really well, just think they have signed some decent players and I really rate Bruce.
dandannieldanok Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Wigan to struggle. Martinez to be sacked by christmas. Agreed, I reckon their season will follow a similar pattern to Blackburn last season.
Finchy Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Stoke to have an awful season, people know what to expect now and how to deal with it now, agree with Portsmouth having a bad one too. Can't see Man City's team gelling easily or quickly either, bottom half around November with Mark Hughes getting fired. To do well, i'd say Spurs will be around 5/6 this season, Modric will be one of the players of the season. i'd also say West Ham will do very well, Zola had them playing some impressive stuff at the end of last season. Sunderland will improve, Bruce has made some very good signings. Have a feeling Nani will be very good for Man U this season too. Arsenal to win the league, Arshavin will be unstoppable
StanSP Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Think Blackburn will struggle. Hull's time in the Prem League is up too.
Guest Bilo Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Much as it grieves me to say it............... Forest! Good manager and Chairman thats backing him to the hilt and some damn good signings this Summer. Chris Gunter aside, their signings have been pretty mediocre. They've made the signings that will ensure they aren't sucked into a relegation battle again, but any further than that is pie in the sky.
Uncle Albert Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 I think Aston Villa, Everton and Man City all improving but none will break the top four. I think West Ham might struggle at the minute they have one fully fit striker in Carlton Cole I think.
dandannieldanok Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 I don't think Fulham will do anywhere near as well as they did last season, especially if they have a long run in Europe.
StanSP Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 I don't think Fulham will do anywhere near as well as they did last season, especially if they have a long run in Europe. Something like 20 extra games?
Uncle Albert Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Yea can't see Fulham exceeding what they done last year but I think they will easily avoid the relegation battle, hope they can go far in Europe aswell. If Everton can keep their strikers fit then they are another team I reckon may go near the end in the Europa League. Always got to fancy an English side to win the Champs League aswell.
Craig Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Burnley, Hull and Pompey will go down. Not sure it's an improvement but i think Birmingham will surprise a few people this year, maybe midtable? I'm not sure they'l be involved in the scrap. Chelsea to win the league though, unfortunately.
lou Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Chris Gunter aside, their signings have been pretty mediocre. They've made the signings that will ensure they aren't sucked into a relegation battle again, but any further than that is pie in the sky. Dont agree with you at all. Dexter Blackstock, Paul Mckenna, Paul Anderson, Joel Lynch even Lee Camp to a certain extent are all bloody good signings too IMO. Only duff one is Adebola but he'll only be a back up striker anyway. Time will tell but Id be very surprised if they dont finish in the play offs.
Samilktray Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Sunderland will qualify for europe, I think Wolves will surprise a few people too and I think Man City have as good a chance as anyone of breaking the top 4. Pompey, Stoke and Hull to go down. And I think Forest will do well next season, play offs at least.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Pompey almost seem to be doing their best to get relegated! Selling all their best players and not buying any young ones. Villa haver such a small squad and are in Europe again, so might struggle but I hope they don't. I think man City will need a good start, but I think they will be around Villa & Everton ratehr than pushing the big 4.
Uncle Albert Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 Dont agree with you at all. Dexter Blackstock, Paul Mckenna, Paul Anderson, Joel Lynch even Lee Camp to a certain extent are all bloody good signings too IMO. Certainly agree with Blackstock, Mckenna and Anderson, Lee Camp will be ok but I thought their keeper from last season was decent enough, Smith? Forest will surprise teams next year unfortunetly.
lou Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 I dearly want Ipswich to fail in an epic scale! Mainly due to their manager being a complete tosser and the ticket prices!
Tommy G Posted 4 August 2009 Posted 4 August 2009 I think pompey will go down. i predict Hull to finish bottom with the lowest points tally in history. The players must be shitting themselves going into this season after coming off the back of a horrendous post christmas season.
