Jon the Hat Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Well this is third time it's been mentioned on here. Doesn't make it anymore reliable mind. If it's true let's hope they can at least match the £25mill Mandaric put in If it's true lets hope the deal is done before we know anything about it.
Guest Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Question is, why would A billionaire be at a city match? To watch a game of football? Americans talk with American accents don't though? If they do, he was American. Many Europeans speak English with an Americanised accent. Some better than others.
Munzie Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 (Mr Bill) That's the one! I saw him at the Swansea game sitting next to Mandaric. Oh, wait a minute, I stand corrected, I saw him in a dodgey sex shop with Milan sitting on top of him. The looked very friendly. Don't know how rich he is though.
Daggers Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Just happened to be handy for you eh I prefer my inflatables to have appendages
Guest Bilo Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 How the Hell did you get hold of my family snap???!!! I found it in your British Bridges Tour album on FaceyB.
FilbertTheFox Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Well when MM does decide to sell-up eventually, let's all hope he leaves the club in safer hands than Gaydemak at Portsmouth! He's in the process of selling the club to a 'middle east consortium'. It seems to be taking an age to go through, unlike the similar takeover of Man City last year! As you may all have seen, Portsmouth are up shit creek without a paddle at the moment with their big players leaving and nobody coming in to replace them......not good!
Jon the Hat Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 There are only 469 American Billionaires, so should not be that hard to work out who they are....

Pompey are in a different situation to us though. They're in an ancient stadium that only holds 20,000 and have outgrown themselves too quickly, whereas we have a modern 32,000 stadium with the fanbase to fill it on a regular basis in the Premiership. The stadium was also built in such a way that it could be expanded to 40,000 quickly and cheaply. For a billionaire investor, we would represent a better opportunity than Portsmouth so I don't think it would go quite so wrong as their takeover has.
Fox in a Box Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 The americans that MAY have been at the game could well be TEACHERS the insurance group who own the ground until MM pays off the mortgage!... most likely this.

It's the approcpriate due dilligence testing that is prolonging the Portsmouth takeover. The bloke is from Saudi Arabia so they have to run a load of checks to make sure he isn't a criminal or linked to criminals basically.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Yeah, what do we wana be attracting great players for, we've got Howard, Powell, Adams, Morrison, Gradel, the last thing we need right now is to be in a position to bring better players to the club I meant that it goes further than that. Just because a team has money, doesn't guarantee success.
Munzie Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 His wife? I just knew that such a picture would appear on this thread. I should have put money on it being Daggers as well!!
escos Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Dear god... I should have closed this yesterday. Why is that then? http://www.talkingballs.co.uk/showpost.php...;postcount=1563
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 I feel that if this was true, the papers would have known long before any of us.
Guest Bilo Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 I feel that if this was true, the papers would have known long before any of us. Maybe but this one doesn't appear to have come from bullshit sources. If it had, I doubt this thread would still be lingering on.
Jon the Hat Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Babs has responsibilities on here Cannot be encouraging unfounded rumour and speculation. This may well have come from sources inside the club, but like any company there will be those who gets their wires crossed.
ob1kanobe0 Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 I meant that it goes further than that. Just because a team has money, doesn't guarantee success. What would you prefer, Milan's millions or a billionaires billions?
manchester_foxes_fan Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 As much as we all know its a load of cobblers, I think we all wish that it was true. Then maybe we could get Shevchenko who is proven to be rubbish in England another akinbiyi that we can waste money on.
willchafer Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 im undecided whether or not there is a billionaire takeover but i at the oment im thinking this crap was started by a bored summer of no football
Guest Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 What would you prefer, Milan's millions or a billionaires billions? Or is it a case of better the devil you know?
Babylon Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Why is that then?http://www.talkingballs.co.uk/showpost.php...;postcount=1563 Because I think it's a pile of shit, whether someone I know mentions it or not.
Daggers Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Why is that then?http://www.talkingballs.co.uk/showpost.php...;postcount=1563 *Bam!* Sorry Babs, but a second time.
