cecchini Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Like against the tractor boys, our track record against these guys is really poor. BUT!!! (theres always a but) we did better than i expected against ipswich and if we can stop the blades scoring I think we can win it. I suspect we will lose - a draw would be good but a win will really set us up for a good season. fingers crossed.
casablancas Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Can't wait for this one tonight, will be listening to the 'Foxplayer' with a nice pizza and stella! I too have a good feeling for this one, we are a tough team and every individual at the moment seem as though they are willing to die for the cause. NP has built a real team and for the first time since MO'Neil I am excited about us going away and picking up points. Going to go for 2-1 to Leicester.
Fox92 Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Anxious, excited and cannot wait really. Sitting here at 11.15 with hours untill we will set off and I am pretty excited. That man from BBC Radio Sheffield said that the left back is always exposed to pace and is weak so I hope N'Guessan starts there. He also said that if you come and play football you will dominate as Sheffield United play long to Henderson and that Wellens dominated last season when he was at Doncaster Rovers. Tony Currie told The Birch that Sheffield United play long, but we all knew that anyway. I always see Tony Currie in Tesco's!
melbourne_foxes Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 any chance there'll be a stream for this game? because i'd definitely consider getting out of bed in the middle of the night to watch this one
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Yes, he's utter codswallop. One of the poorest in the leagues. Who D'Urso or Miller? I don't know much about Miller.
Joe. Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 It's good to see that the level of optimism is slowly, but surely, on the rise.We are in good shape. We are well organised. NP has made us hard to beat. We are pretty solid. We have players who aren't afraid to get stuck in in all key positions. We have an air of confidence about us. We just need a touch of brilliance in the final third from someone who can make a difference. I think this is spot on at the moment. We're just lacking that bit of cutting edge at the moment, which will make the difference between a top or bottom half finish. Fryatt needs to get back on top form for us soon.
CosbehFox Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Who D'Urso or Miller? I don't know much about Miller. Miller. Type ''Nigel Miller referee'' into google and hear some horror stories. Look at the second story.
lildave3 Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Howard v Morgan - I can't ****ing wait. It's the only reason i'm going. Get into him Steve.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Miller. Type ''Nigel Miller referee'' into google and hear some horror stories. Look at the second story. Well he doesnt sound to great does he! Howard v Morgan - I can't ****ing wait. It's the only reason i'm going. Get into him Steve. I would love Howard to out do Morgan at every opportunity, but he needs to be careful, Morgan is the sort of defender who will try to get him sent off. Come on Super Steve!
CosbehFox Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 Here we are...Nigel Miller moans LEYTON ORIENT manager Martin Ling accused referee Nigel Miller of costing his side victory at Elland Road by making four vital mistakes. "I have never criticised a referee in my life and never been up before the FA, but I can't see how that referee could get four vital decisions wrong. First he said Sean Thornton had used an elbow, then that he had thrown a punch. Which one was he going for? Even a yellow card would have been harsh. In a statement the force said: "We are not prepared to discuss the reasons for this officer's current absence from work. "He has a medical certificate from his own GP saying he is unfit for work. "The officer has been seen by our own occupational health physician. River rescue "Medical opinion suggests the exercise associated with his footballing interests would in fact be therapeutic and help aid his recovery. "We expect him to be back at work very shortly." So, where to begin...with Mr Miller's eyesight, his inability to read a wrist-watch or the shirking of his post-match responsibilities? The visitors came more into the game after the break, but on 59 minutes went down to 10 men after striker Barry Corr was sent-off for an off the ball incident involving Doyle. Bizarrely, no free-kick was given by controversial referee Nigel Miller and instead Exeter were awarded a corner while seeing their lone front man make his way back to the dressing room. The disillusioned Milton Keynes boss has written to the FA to complain about the standard of refereeing in their 2-1 defeat at Shrewsbury on Easter Monday, after whistler Nigel Miller booked eight Dons players and sent off Jude Stirling. The Yeovil manager, Russell Slade, felt the initial award by the referee, Nigel Miller, was at best harsh. "I had to look at the first penalty twice but Nigel Miller didn't," he said.
Joe. Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 If Chris Morgan loses less than two teeth tonight from a Steve elbow then I'll go home disappointed.
maddog Posted 18 August 2009 Author Posted 18 August 2009 Shame it's Tuesday today and not Wednesday, because then the Sheffield Wednesday chant on a Wednesday would fit in perfectly EDIT: Only 6 votes short of a record
maddog Posted 18 August 2009 Author Posted 18 August 2009 Infact, I'm so excited.... :locked: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! :locked:
Munzie Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 I've gone for a draw for tonights game. The blades are one of the favourites to be in the mix at the end of the season. That said, this is just the sort of clash that will improve Nigel Pearsons managerial status. I can see him tinkering with players, formation, and tactics in order to grind out a sneaky win. Lets hope so anyway.
Leicfox Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 I think they will cause us major problems down the flanks with their pace. 2-0 Blades.
markbsac Posted 18 August 2009 Posted 18 August 2009 morrisen at right back for me...i think this lad is going to be awsome for us.....and i know hes not happy about being used then dropped...ok i understand that he is young and come from non league and neilson is prob pearsons chosen right back.......but i can see this as a case of play me or at the earliest opportunity im off.
maddog Posted 18 August 2009 Author Posted 18 August 2009 Just had a flick through a Blades forum and only 1 Blade fan out of 100+ has predicted a Leicester win in their prediction thread. That 1 fan is right
