maddog Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Come on you blues Our record in recent times at Bramall Lane is very poor, so are we due a win there Tuesday night We have seriously suffered there and our previous 4 games have ended in 3-0, 4-1, 2-0 and 2-1 defeats, so the omens don't look too good. They had a comfortable win at home to Watford today 2-0, which puts them level on points with us after our battling performance at Ipswich, and appear to have bounced back from a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Port Vale in mid-week now managed by former City boss Micky Adams. The Blades blunted one game too late last season, just missing out on automatic promotion before falling to Burnley in the play off final, many have tipped them for promotion this season. But we have started very well, NP seems to have maintained the positive, fighting spirit focusness mentality that got us up last season. You expect Fryatt to be almost fully fit now for this one, perhaps he may bag a goal. Howard is putting in a lot of effort on the field with his facial expressions, as way as being a right badger for defenders, causing many problems. Many still think we need another new striker, we probably do and lets hope NP gets a deal struck soon. Waghorn is a crafty signing by NP but we can't really rely on him to get us the goals if Fryatt continues his Championship baron run. Back to the game Tuesday though, and the fact we have lost there in our previous 4 meetings surely means we will get at least a point Tuesday, hopefully It's going to be a very tricky encounter, i would like a win, but would take a point. I'm going 2-1 Leicester, a Fryatt brace
lou Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Yeah loss for me too.. sorry! Think it will be closer than last time though.... 1-0 to them (I hope Im wrong)
Finchy Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 God I hope we win this, our record there recently is pathetic. Heart says 0-1, head says 2-0
Budweiser Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 2-1 win. Stunning 30 yard effort in the 94th minute from Wellens to send the Leicester fans into raptures.
Brainy Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Serious question maddog, where do you reckon we are gonna finish this season
Guest Bilo Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Hope I'm wrong but I think this will be our first defeat of the season. 2-1 to United I think.
Ultra Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 A City player will be sent off in this game - probably Howard....
AjcW Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Who cares about the result Its Howard Vs Mor"willy puller"Gan. STEVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Hopefully he can elbow him in the head give him a taste of his own medicine. Seriously though 2-2.
AjcW Posted 16 August 2009 Posted 16 August 2009 Me, suprisingly. if you read the rest of my post youll realise I was joking
jonthefox Posted 16 August 2009 Posted 16 August 2009 im confident. so i reckon a sneaky scrappy 1-0 . n`guessan
Uncle Monty Posted 16 August 2009 Posted 16 August 2009 I think the Blades will be too sharp for us. Hohoho
Jiggers the Fox Posted 16 August 2009 Posted 16 August 2009 will unquestionably be one of the toughest away games of the season for us, so in a way its good to get it out of the way now, and maybe catch them out before they've had a chance to properly gel. A sensible prediction would be a home win, but the feeling in my gut says we could take all 3
dandannieldanok Posted 16 August 2009 Posted 16 August 2009 I'm hoping we best these wankers as desperately as the likes of Forest, Derby and Cov but I can't see it, 1-0 loss, Ched Evans.
MPH Posted 16 August 2009 Posted 16 August 2009 this is the one game i wouldnt be upset about if we lose it... when you consider who they have brought in, i can take a defeat just so long as we dont roll over - I want us to go down fighting. A draw and i will be pleased and just delighted with a win.
Fox92 Posted 16 August 2009 Posted 16 August 2009 My fifth visit so we will most probably loose, have a player sent off and concede a penalty but I am pretty confident with us drawing at a very difficult Portman Road. I think Sheffield United will play long, ecspecially with Henderson up top. A prime example of this is when they were on the television against Middleborough and when they kicked off they played it all the way back to Mark Bunn. Sheffield United have a good squad though, far capable of achieving something this year. Another former player lines up against us then, Mark Bunn in goal. Should get a decent reception, he helped the club out and saved a penalty so a decent reception there. Bunn is an ok goalkeeper, he wasn't the best we had last year which says something and is quite weak on his left side, this showed when he conceded the first against MK Dons at their ground. The other goalkeeper is Ian Bennett who lives near me, his son is in my brothers’ tutor at school, and at the tender age of 37 he is quite sloppy and 'past it'. Having said that, he kept a clean sheet against us the other time we were at Bramall Lane. Obviously Paddy Kenny isn't going to play, with the decision from the F.A I think it is, being on that day with no appearance from Blackwell. Sheffield United's defence is pretty strong though. Matt Kilgallon and Chris Morgan are very strong defenders and the full backs are strong and fast too - I think Bromby plays right full back. Their midfield is very, very strong with lots of goals in it. Brian Howard scored a few last season and scored a heap load for rivals Barnsley, Quinn was their top goalscorer last season so he is capable of scoring and Blackwell can also choose from Nick Montgomery who I dislike as a player but sits in well for his side and former loanee and England player Lee Hendrie. Former Rotherham and Watford midfield Lee Williamson also plays for The Blades. Blades’ wingers seems fast, former Bristol City winger come striker Cotterill wears 11, and a similar type of player to Kyle Reid who signed in the summer. To be honest though, their attacking options are very strong. Big man Darius Henderson will most probably start with either the little pest Jamie Ward, Ched Evans who we were linked with or the former S****horpe striker Billy Sharp. So, my team would be: Weale Neilson -- Hobbs -- Brown -- Berner N' Guessan -- Wellens -- Oakley -- Dyer Fryatt -- Howard This week I have chosen Brown ahead of any of the other defenders because of the weight and force of Darius Henderson and with Brown being more physical than the other defenders this seems a good choice. Matty and Stevie to start up front with Howard having a go at Morgan like he did McAuley yesterday. Waghorn can start on the bench and come on in the 55/60/65 minute and have a nice run at a hopefully tired Sheffield United team. Overall my prediction is: 1-2 loss. But would take a draw, come on Leicester
milan_foxes Posted 16 August 2009 Posted 16 August 2009 Somebody to nick a sneaky goal. (most likely it'll be sheff utd.)
