Return in France of Kermorgant?

Although it recently extended up to 2012 sounds contract with Leicester, a club of Second English Division, Yann Kermorgant is not certain to finish the season across the channel. The attack in fact is very wooed in France. The Equipe retrieves Sunday that Valenciennes and Caen would be interested by his coming as early as this winter, just as Holy etienne, to that the player would have been proposed before the departure of Damien Comolli.

Was going to give it its own thread in transfer rumours but though i would stick it in here!

Leicester City fans have still to see best of Yann Kermorgant says coach Craig Shakespeare

Tuesday, January 19, 2010, 08:00

Leicester City assistant manager Craig Shakespeare believes City fans are yet to see the best of Yann Kermorgant.

The French striker was surprisingly preferred ahead of Steve Howard, who scored in the 1-1 draw with Ipswich the week before, for the 1-0 defeat at Swansea City on Saturday and struggled, along with the rest of the team, to make an impact.

However, Shakespeare said the 28-year-old is acclimatising well to life in the Championship and could have a valuable part to play as City push for a play-off place.

"Yann is doing well in training and his strength and conditioning is really coming on," said Shakespeare.

"He is now adjusting to the demands of English football.

"I don't think we have seen the best of him yet and he needs a goal to boost his confidence.

"He had a role to play on Saturday when we didn't have the ball, and a role when we were in possession. I think we will see much more from him during the rest of the season."

I think the lad has potential, sadly I don't think we're going to see it if Pearson keeps asking him to play deep.

I think it was Scow that nailed it in his post-match comments. Pearson had clearly told him to drop and sit on Britton and shut him down, sadly as the game went on the more he was less interested in that goal and it inevitably led to them having acres of space to expose McGivern.

Seems the type of player to me that wants to play win a few in the air and get in the box and feed on some crosses.

For me he is similar to Gallagher in the fact of him not being able to be play well up front consistently well and he is a good 'technical footballer'. He reminds me of Cahill in size and build -good in the air but not usually player upfrony. Would like to see him more often in a simialr role but that will create selection problems in the midfield.

What?

After reading it three times I think I've deciphered it, and where you suggest he be played is basically what he has been doing anyway in his appearances so far, he needs to be played upfront with no defensive duties whatsoever apart from set pieces obviously.

I like how it translates Saint Etienne as "Holy etienne" lol

Scow pinching my tactical knowledge there - I'll let him off this once...

Yann Kermorgant has not yet scored a goal for Leicester City, but videoclips shows that the player has done it all before

Lovely overhead kick!

I always take compilations with a pinch of salt - although Kermorgant looks good, I'm sure if we put together a 3 minute compilation of Fryatts 'best bits' then he would look like Ronaldo compared to this
