Cobbo Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~1873989,00.html Really unhelpful to the merc.
Joe. Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Totally agree with Fez on this. Newspapers have to get their stories from somewhere and from what I know the club are very unhelpful to the Merc. Journalists can't be blamed for seeking out potential material from other sources if they can't get it straight from the horse's mouth. Exactly, it's their jobs for god sake! They clearly read this message board and know that information from knowitall is generally spot on, so I'm not too sure what the problem here is. Foxestalk isn't some secret little world of its own. Of course they're going to ring the club if they see potential for a story, that's what journalists get paid to do.
lildave3 Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 FoxesTalk dicks on the Mercury anyway. Mercury have got lots off of here before, don't really see the problem.
Guest Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Hmmm, as a cynic, it could look like wanting to either out someone or get them into trouble. As KIA has pointed out, they could have contacted him first, and yes the point is taken that they would know that his info is (99% of the time) correct. Actually, that makes it look worse. As a cynic.

the buckwheat Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Actually, that makes it look worse, cause Birmingham called Yann' agent
Lillehamring Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 What are you suggesting they do? Not print what he says for fear of outing him? Then how is he a source of information? The only person being naive, lazy and careless here does not work for the Mercury. I'm going to back out of this now. I sincerely hope Knowitall doesn't get in any trouble. i'm suggesting that they contact the source of the rumour, get what they need and report it as coming from 'an unidentified source at the club', it sounds like someone from the mercury has phined the club and said ' some guy on FT has said XYZ'... if someoone in the government leaks something, you don't see the Daily Telegraph ringing up the prime minister and saying, 'jim smith in the MOD says XYZ, is it true?'... no one said anything about not printing it, the problem is the complete lack of discretion on the part of the mercury, is it any wonder that the club aren't cooperative...

Aren't you jumping to conclusions? He said they "Read it on here and phone Leicester up for a quote", it doesn't say that they mentioned this site or who it came from. I doubt KIA can even be 100% sure they read it on here. As I keep pointing out Vital football is the site that takes KIA's info and publishes for the world to see, their news get picked up by news streams. If KIA gets in trouble he only has himself to blame, the club have been known to monitor forums so he knew he was taking a risk. The suggestion that the mercury should contact him is laughable IMO.
the buckwheat Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 City have refused to comment on speculation that striker Yann Kermorgant has been offered a two-and-a-half year contract. The Frenchman's current deal is due to expire in January but, according to reports, he has impressed Pearson enough to earn a longer deal and is now considering the offer.

Babylon Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 not jumping, but ok, yes i'm inferring something from what KIA said, his concern, that they were 'after his head' suggests that he has been identified as the source... It doesn't definitely suggest he has been identified in my mind. It means they know the info most probably came from someone inside the club and they are trying to find out who. He's the one who posted it so of course he will feel like they are after him, it doesn't mean he has been fingered. and thus it would be natural to contact the source of the rumour to qualify its validity, as someone else said, if the mercury go to the club to ask about every single rumour, that would be laughable The Mercury and Radio Leicester DO go to the club about a lot of rumours in the press. Remember the info gets spread far and wide after it gets put on here... Vital, TB, Bentleys, Football Rumours so there is no knowing where they picked it up from. As for contacting KIA about it, I'm sorry that's just laughable to me. yes, KIA was taking a risk, i'm sure he's smart enough to know that, but that doesn't justify the mercury's schoolboy handling of it. You haven't got the faintest idea of how the Mercury handled it. They could have said "If there any truth in the rumour that Yani will be getting a 2.5 year contract" or they could have said "An insider who works at the club has said on Foxestalk that Yani will be getting a 2.5 year contract... is it true? Ps. It was knowitall who done it and his IP is 78.12.45.86.3". Both could have led is to the exact position he is in now.
bald reynard Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 Could be the last we see of KIA!! Yeah, but more importantly, HAS Yann signed the contract ?! It's all gone very quiet and I'm more concerned about him signing (I, for one, want him to) than all KiA's difficulties.
Captain... Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 Libertine was Knowitall. Knowitall is DJ Campbell - Fact He came on here under a psuedonym to see what the fans really thought of him, now come on Leicester sack the useless cnut.
Tilley Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 It is true, Libertine is/was Knowitall, the little mole him. In other news, Hartlepool have deemed Steve Howard 'unfit.'
Samilktray Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 In other news, Hartlepool have deemed Steve Howard 'unfit.' Thats a bit generous
Tilley Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 Thats a bit generous This is a family forum Sam, I can't use the word the Hartlepool Chairman really called him.
Libertine Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 When I said I have a multiple personality disorder, this isn't what I meant.
Lillehamring Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 It is true, Libertine is/was Knowitall, the little mole him.In other news, Hartlepool have deemed Steve Howard 'unfit.' i believe that is rhyming slang....
stez Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 Is anybody suprised?! The mercury is one of the worst local papers in the country and currently probably at its lowest ebb ever in terms of journalistic quality. There are wank books that have better investigative journalism going on. Bothering to steal something off a website that isn't the BBC shows quite a lot of initiative for that bunch of no-hopers. you've obviously not read the grantham journal. top story this week: 'man sells sinclair c5' i'm suggesting that they contact the source of the rumour, get what they need and report it as coming from 'an unidentified source at the club', it sounds like someone from the mercury has phined the club and said ' some guy on FT has said XYZ'...if someoone in the government leaks something, you don't see the Daily Telegraph ringing up the prime minister and saying, 'jim smith in the MOD says XYZ, is it true?'... no one said anything about not printing it, the problem is the complete lack of discretion on the part of the mercury, is it any wonder that the club aren't cooperative... surely if KIA was happy for this information to 'go public' its his look out.
the buckwheat Posted 20 November 2009 Posted 20 November 2009 Meanwhile, Pearson revealed he wants to extend striker Yann Kermorgant's stay beyond January. The Frenchman had signed a short-term deal and, while Pearson would not confirm that Kermorgant had been offered a two-and-a-half year contract, he did confirm they were in talks with his representatives. "Yes, I would like to extend that," he said.
Webbo Posted 21 November 2009 Posted 21 November 2009 I thought he was very good today.Won so much in the air and all his flick ons seemed to find one of our men.
MPH Posted 21 November 2009 Posted 21 November 2009 I thought he was very good today.Won so much in the air and all his flick ons seemed to find one of our men. agreed. Not the best position to show off his strengths, but certainly gave a fully committed performance.. REALLY concerned with Howards body language and effort when he came on... Surely Yann is now ahead of him in the target man pecking order..
