Joe. Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 The appointment of Barnes was always going to be a complete calamity. I've got no sympathy for their board; sacking Ronnie Moore and replacing him with Barnes was just insane.

Listen to World In Motion and tell me Barnes' team talks wouldn't have been the stuff of legend.

Tony Adams is nailed on for that job... they obviously like famous ex players who have failed everywhere they have been as a manager.
lildave3 Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 Quite funny to turn on the TV and see John Barnes loading a bike into a Range Rover.
Edmund Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 Quite funny to turn on the TV and see John Barnes loading a bike into a Range Rover. And why is that funny? Anyway the sack was inevitable. Poor John, management is not for him and im sure this will be the last time we see him in the dugout. Back to channel 5 punditry. My theory is the guy is too much of a nice guy for management. You could imagine his team bolockings being similar to an advert for lilt.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 So Barnes went first. Surely not long left for Keane. I'm suprised they got rid of him today rather than Monday though. If I was them I'd go for someone in the lower leagues.
Edmund Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 Ian Rush said on soccer saturday today he reckons Barnes was too big for Tranmere and was two steps ahead of the club because he wanted to play proper football.
Koke Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 Barnes should stick to his TV work - even though he's total shite at that as well.
lildave3 Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 He was doing an ok job at the footballing powerhouse that is Jamaica wasn't he?
