hackneyfox Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 Even Mansfield don't want him http://www.mansfieldtown.net/page/NewsDeta...1822356,00.html
hackneyfox Posted 9 October 2009 Author Posted 9 October 2009 Well that would explain his return but not the fact that he only made two appearances as sub. If they had wanted him longer I can't imagine that NFP would have blocked it, I can't see him getting on our bench somehow.
Sir Fynwy Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 Wasn't it a one month deal? Yes it was for one month but 2 outings as a sub hardly show that he was wanted. Levi may be entering the twilight zone of his career if he can't find a league club that will play him soon.
sdb Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 A flightier winger with such audacious talent shall never been seen again. A whirlwind of technical abilty, speed and world-class magnificance who in his prime recaptured flashes of Maradonna circa 1986. What a shame that the rumours of a Madrid based move never materialsed, for such a beautiful footballer deserved this chance. His performances week in week out for LCFC reserves made the heart skip a beat and the lump in my trousers expand three-fold. What a shame that NP and co can't see what is thrown in their faces day in day out. The humbleness of Mansfield for returning Levi because he is too good for them must be applauded. What we could do with him sparking up our dreadful form of recent. Thrac...sdb
ThurmastonFox Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 Still wonder what little Levi did that caused him to be pushed out in the cold for so long. He got injured and it seems to have gone down hill from there if I recall...

Thracian Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 Still wonder what little Levi did that caused him to be pushed out in the cold for so long. He got injured and it seems to have gone down hill from there if I recall... You do wonder if what he allegedly did "followed" him to Mansfield. It's amazing how many people seem prepared to kick him now he's down but, as a parent, I'd be really concerned for him if he doesn't re-establish his football career and sincerely hope that Leicester City can help him to help himself. Anyway, from DavieG's later post it hardly seems as if Mansfield didn't want to keep him. Quite the contrary. But seeing as Mansfield haven't used him much I can't see City would see much benefit in him staying there.

You're his dad?
Thracian Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 You're his dad? . Not a chance but I do hope he's got people to turn to right now.
Koke Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 I actually really hope he finds a league club that want him. I'd hate to see his career go down the drain like that at the young age of 22. I have never really liked him, but I hope he sorts himself out soon.
Daggers Posted 9 October 2009 Posted 9 October 2009 Isn't he meant to be a right nob head these days? He posts on Foxestalk?

Guest Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 as a parent, I'd be really concerned for him if he doesn't re-establish his football career Why? Because he'll be forced to do an ordinary job like the rest of us plebs?
Zingari Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 this doesn't sound like they want him away http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/homespor...il/article.html
Thracian Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 Why? Because he'll be forced to do an ordinary job like the rest of us plebs? a) Can't imagine anyone would mind the sort of "pleb job" money you'll be getting eventually. Including Levi. b) Because I like to see people succeed in their chosen work. c) Because Levi's clearly let himself and the club down in some way and I'm not convinced he'll deal with it very well if he can't make amends.
davieG Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 this doesn't sound like they want him away http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/homespor...il/article.html People are so keen to offer opinions on things they know nothing about especially re football players who seem to suffer the most from this. Mind you I've probably done it myself now and again.

Hmm, inverted snobbery? I have taken whatever work I can get. You also make huge assumptions, as the criminal and family bars are heavily underfunded and relatively poorly paid. But that's another argument.... I only made a tongue in cheek comment. I thought the smilie might have given that one away. Of course it's great to see someone succeed in their chosen career, but life doesn't always work out so nicely. I should know. I have sympathy for someone who has had their career shortened through events that were beyond their control, but not in this instance. He's reaped what he's sown. He's got to pick himself up, and learn from his mistakes, and if he has to do so outside of football, so be it.
harwich fox Posted 10 October 2009 Posted 10 October 2009 ah this is where you are hackney great minds etc..... smiley thing

Ironically you say that while the law of the land you represent so often gives people a second chance and even more. Indeed didn't one of your esteeemed judges allow a guy who'd raped a minor to do community service recently - allowing him to go out and commit another dreadful offence? I wonder if he'll keep his job? Thought so! Levi is still a young man. Yes he's got to learn, but he made a mistake or two and nothing so serious as to justify wrecking his career. Hell there's at least one person in football today who some would say deserved hanging for what he did. And others who have done far worse than anything I've heard about Levi.
