dandannieldanok Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 McGivern wasn't really that bad last night. I thought he was appalling myself, especially given Berner's form, just my opinion though.
Ozwin Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 He looked a bit shakey and was caught out of position a few times. He wasn't particularly bad but he's never going to replace Berner.
Fosse Boy Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Wish it was Steve Blackman. I wish it was his tag team partner...
Wycombe Fox Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Wish it was Steve Blackman. Wish it was Honor Blackman
Tilley Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Wish it was Honor Blackman I'd be lying if I said I didn't just have to google her to see who she was.
Alexikokopops Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Wish it was Steve Blackman. I wish it was Larry Blackmon
Wycombe Fox Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 I'd be lying if I said I didn't just have to google her to see who she was. Pussy Galore!! Norks ain't bad either!
Thracian Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 According to Mirror sport we have signed Andre Blackman after a successful trial here,he was with Bristol City but they released him after he was involved with the police, now under the guidance of Chris Powell .He was at one time a highly rated left wing back with Arsenal and Spurs...only 21 years old so theres time to get himsorted out He's got some ability and I certainly don't object to us signing him just because he's not necessarily been the perfect role model. Hell, if everyone was like Anish half the kids in the world would be shunted down the branch line to oblivion at 21 just because of some wild indiscretion. You need a bit of character to survive in the highly competitive world of football and not everyone has the advantage of the perfect upbringing where kids emerge as well spoken, keen to learn, impeccably polite and instinctively co-operative. I'm quite sure Gerry Taggart and Nigel Pearson are big enough and strong enough to get their messages across and to deal with some 10 stone kid. Whether he will be good enough to emerge as our regular left back is another matter but it sounds as if he's got the chance now. I just hope he's bright enough to take it.
Fox You Forest Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Pussy Galore!!Norks ain't bad either! Surely she's pushing 90 odd now!
Thracian Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Wish it was Honor Blackman Apparently a lot of women fantasize about being Honor Blackman!
Ajax Treesdown Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 I thought he was appalling myself, especially given Berner's form, just my opinion though. I thought Berner was shite against Coventry, McGivern is a better left back than Berner, if he gets the chance he will show that. Thats why Man City will not sell him. Thats just my opinion.
Nick Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 Pleased that Chris Powell has agreed to mentor him. After being at a string of real quality clubs it's his attitude and inability to cope with personal circumstances it would seem has let him down. I remember not so long ago having a team of unwanted misfits that became loved. Welcome old son. N.

The Doctor Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 Erm... has he actually signed only there is the square root of F'k all on the OS.
StanSP Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 Erm... has he actually signed only there is the square root of F'k all on the OS. Yeah don't rely on the OS for news.

Not once did I personally see McGivern stop a cross coming in or make a tackle or muscle someone off the ball or do any meaningful defending. Obviously I saw the game completely differently to virtually everyone else on this forum who seem to rate the lad.

For me McGivern seem to just leave the ball for a while until very late then hoof it up to make it look like it was a great clearence. Berner has been absolutely amazing for us, and obviously should be back in the side, who gives a fook if McGivern plays for Man City, he will never get in their team.

That's how I saw him in the 1st half can't vouch for the 2nd as he was right over in the far corner and didn't seem to venture forward as much.
The Doctor Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 Yeah don't rely on the OS for news. can see that. Still no news on the OS. Starting to think it would be quicker to set FT as my home page rather than logging on, checking the OS and then seeing whether they just can't be arsed to put anything new up by checking on here.
General Smuts Posted 22 October 2009 Posted 22 October 2009 Signed him as Paul Tierneys understudy at Wrexham on FM10. Keep you updated on his development.

Obviously I saw the game completely differently to virtually everyone else on this forum who seem to rate the lad. I wasn't too keen, for many reasons. He seemed unwilling to head it, booted it high far too much, wandered out of position quite a few times and stuff, but it's only his first game for us. I don't plan on calling him a waste of space for at least 10 more minutes Definitely think your rating of 2 was harsh!
knowitall Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 Played in the Oxford match but was very very poor. Has trained as if the world owes him a living. Np has not been happy with him and made this clear. Arranged a meeting with coaching staff to talk to him. ( I think they were going to boot him out) On Thursday he did not turn up and asked DJ to pick up his things. So I think I am safe in saying goodbye Andre
