Bert Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Anyone know anything about him? He's been on trial and played Wednesday night for the ressies, and according to the merc, having talks to "discuss his future".
Mark Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 On 1 October he was released by Bristol City after not making a league appearance. & http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Gary-...icle169515.html

AmericanScott Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Gary Johnson poised to end Blackman's Bristol City stay Mirror = Racist!
Thracian Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 I've only watched him the once, against Barwell, and my first impression was a good one. Trouble is lots of young players impress to begin with. Blackman had nothing to lose and was there to catch the eye. In some ways he looked just the sort of full-back we're desperate for. Quick, keen to get forward, comfortable on the ball. On one particular ocasion he lost possession and immediately made recompense by haring back 30 yards and recovering the ball. The pace of his response was impressive but you have to wonder what fast, professional Championship players would have made of the chance... Whether Pearson and his staff can reduce the mistakes and develop the assets is the big ask and the other questions are whether Blackman is tough enough and durable enough for serious football, how good his positional sense is and how effectively he sees the pictures and makes the best of them. I can well forgive him for not being noisy. It's hard for any new player to be familiar with names and with what players are likely to do around him. But communication is vital to a footballer and, for me, he'd need to work on demanding the ball and conveying his messages. City weren't especially good defensively on the night and quite enough danger sourced from our right in the shape of crosses and players being allowed to move into space. Yes, we kept a clean sheet but that was far more down to Barwell's wastefullness than City keeping their back door locked. But, as a first sighting I'd say the signs were promising. Luke O'Neill was another full-back who had a run out in the same match. Luke has already worn the first team shirt on several occasions and I wouldn't say he was any more impressive than Blackman. In fact I thought he could have made more of some situations. Whether Pearson will decide he's seen enough to offer Blackman an opportunity remains to be seen. There'll be work to do, no question, but there was a reasonable block of raw material to start on.
Edmund Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 FOXES MULLING OVER BLACKMAN DEALLeicester are set to make a decision on whether to extend teenager Andre Blackman's trial with the club. The former Arsenal, Tottenham and Portsmouth left-back played for City's reserve-team against Barwell on Tuesday night. Blackman, 19, is currently without a club after being released by Bristol City, for whom he made two Carling Cup appearances this season. City reserve-team boss Gerry Taggart is poised for talks with assistant manager Craig Shakespeare and recruitment head Steve Walsh, who watched Blackman in action for the second string. The Foxes beat Barwell 1-0 and club skipper Stephen Clemence capped his first full game for nearly 18 months following a serious heel injury with the goal from the penalty spot.
Hitesh Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 He's been at loads of clubs for a 19 year old. Would suggest a lot - either with his ability or his attitude!
Ozwin Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Pearson doesn't make too many bad decisions tbf, I trust his judgement.
FoxyLady85 Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 We could resign McGivern on a season long loan in January. Blackman won't be number one left back for the Foxes although Leicester will be able to help his development.

Bruno is just playing too well!
BCFCFAN Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 im beginning to think they might not let him sign for the rest of the season - he isnt playing many games.. Bruno is just playing too well! Andre Blackman is trouble, trust me, you don't want him at the club. Very bad rumours about why he was released from Ashton Gate and 4 clubs at the age of 19 confirms this. Half decent player but he won't have a future in the game.

We need another youngster with a bad attitude just to keep Thracian happy when Porter's shown the door.

breadandcheesebrother Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Leice...icle195163.html yes it's the mirror, but some interesting info in here, not least about powell's role in hopefully turning a bad egg good.
Thracian Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 We need another youngster with a bad attitude just to keep Thracian happy when Porter's shown the door. Have you ever met any one of the youngsters you criticise so readily? Or are you just a father whose kids are so perfect they could be nominated for sainthood?
MPH Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Have you ever met any one of the youngsters you criticise so readily? Or are you just a father whose kids are so perfect they could be nominated for sainthood? The trouble is Levi is KNOWN for being a bit of a spoon. Yes i have met him no i dont have any children but yes one day i would like them to be nominated for sainthood.
blueoveru Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 According to Mirror sport we have signed Andre Blackman after a successful trial here,he was with Bristol City but they released him after he was involved with the police, now under the guidance of Chris Powell . He was at one time a highly rated left wing back with Arsenal and Spurs...only 21 years old so theres time to get himsorted out
dandannieldanok Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Can't be any worse than McGivern surely.
lou Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 poor Andre Blackman..... his big arrival has been completely swamped by Edgar Davids probably non-existant one! Welcome to LCFC Andre
Koke Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Can't be any worse than McGivern surely. McGivern wasn't really that bad last night.
