thybluefox Posted 15 October 2009 Author Posted 15 October 2009 What annoys me is the fact we have the worst scoreboards possible for a new ground! The fact it took until April to get the time working again and they cant get the rest working is rediculous. Away fans must see it as a complete joke, Yup, even when the stadium was new I remember thinking they were a bit shit.

crazylegs1984 Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 oh god noooo not a screen hated the screen while sitting in ricoh what a eyesore . A nice colour scoreboard while do nicely
Budweiser Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Is there any remote chance that we could have a screen put up?? Or is that pushing the boat so far out you can't see it anymore??To be honest, if you can't keep track off the scores at the Walkers Stadium, you need help. I hate you. Absolutely stupid suggestion, no offence

Fox You Forest Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 C'mon who cares, really. Like Lisa says, the money is better spent elsewhere. I wonder if we could do some kind of deal, cash+scoreboard for DJ.
Bluefoxtim Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Someone should climb up onto the roof and take a cricket scoreboard with them.
Bert Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 They can do it after the incident has passed, or even at half time.I remember when I went to see Spurs they had replays during the match, but after the incident (goal in this case) had passed. Surely for it to be a replay, the incident has to have passed? They're not allowed to show offsides, anything that could sway the ref's decision, or any fouls. If they were, we'd be using video technology. They can show goals, because they did at Coventry, and they do at Southampton and they used to at Villa. Onto the scoreboard, I don't think it'll be fixed this season anyway. They fixed the time before the season, but nothing else.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 Borrowed from Ashley - http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...st&p=841663 Great photo - that just about sums up Filbo! Did that scoreboard ever function properly from the day it was put in?! I think it's now at Rushden and Diamonds.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 The Theatre of Dreams TM (also known as Old Trafford) gets by without big screens and all that - for years they just had a very simple one-line scoreboard, now its this - still pretty simple, but effective: Compare this to the techno wonders they have in Italy and Spain: I reckon we should splash out on one of those four-sided things suspended over the centre circle like American sports stadia. OK, we might lose a couple of balls to the odd Wayne Brown hoof, but it would give our stadium something a bit unique. Mind you, having felt it wobble when people stamp their feet I'm not sure I'd want to be playing underneath something like that at the Walkers!

Nah I disagree, that would be a disaster, we might as well have called our stadium the Walkers Bowl. Personally though, if we going for something different we should put a cricket scoreboard in.
Guest Bilo Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 Not going to lie, that's a nice sight in more ways than one.
leftsideoverhere Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 The screen at Watford was a joke. Most of the time it fookin adverts. When it showed game incidents you couldn't see anything properly anyway. I'd much rather we spent the money on finishing the decoration of the concourse areas than on a screen or even a scoreboard. Its not like we have trouble keeping up with the score at the Walkers. It's not rugby or cricket.

It would be used as an extra means of advertising, we'd get the team pictures as the PA announced the line-up and then we'd get constant ads for Jessops, Upton Steel et al. Not what I want to see. If the club wants to make more money out of the stadium, it'd be much better served carrying out the work required for it to be able to stage concerts as well as finishing the concourse areas by cladding the bloody brieze blocks!

Shrenchel Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 I'm a fan of the naked breeze blocks. At least gives it a hint of the rough and ready feel I think a football ground should have. Who really gives a fook about what the concourse looks like anyway?! It's not your bloody living room, spend about 10 minutes a fortnight there.
Guest Bilo Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 Good enough for Curve And to think Mrs Bilo is worried about getting dressed up to go next Thursday. The hell with that, we're off to Fan Club afterwards!

The rough and ready look only works if the ground has the character to carry it off, which the Walkers doesn't. The brieze blocks should be painted at least, it looks half-finished in the bogs. And give us some hand-driers Milan.

Podge Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 I think we should go the way of the Dallas Cowboys and stick a 1080P HD screen over the length of the pitch. Imagine seeing Wayne Brown kick Robbie Savage up in air again on a screen like that
suffolk fox Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 I would like to see two scantily clad ladies at either end of the stadium high up on balconys holding up scorecards. Better than any scoreboard I'd suggest. One dressed in the home clubs colours and one in the away.

Smudge Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 Scoreboard, what for ? "Have we scored yet Alf, I've forgot".
Guest Bilo Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 Them dyson ones which dry your hands in seconds We have those babies in our library at uni. They are the best hand-driers ever made!
