lavrentis Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 We have those babies in our library at uni. They are the best hand-driers ever made! I keep my hands in there even after they are dry.
lcfcadam Posted 16 October 2009 Posted 16 October 2009 I'm a fan of the naked breeze blocks. At least gives it a hint of the rough and ready feel I think a football ground should have. Who really gives a fook about what the concourse looks like anyway?! It's not your bloody living room, spend about 10 minutes a fortnight there. Totally agree.
samlcfc Posted 5 November 2009 Posted 5 November 2009 for anyone who cares, apparently theyve fixed the scoreboard
Dr The Singh Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 for anyone who cares, apparently theyve fixed the scoreboard I care, my bloody son always asks why it isn't working........
CosbehFox Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 The rough and ready look only works if the ground has the character to carry it off, which the Walkers doesn't. The brieze blocks should be painted at least, it looks half-finished in the bogs. And give us some hand-driers Milan. Well in terms of construction it's difficult to get any paint which would be waterproof on the type of aggregate which produces the average breeze block (other's are better but more expensive) hence the reason why everyone uses render on their house instead but imagine the abuse in a football stadium, it would fall apart within a month. They could have alteratively used an already finished breezeblock but it would again be rather expensive.

In the past the club have used the same 'do you want players or paint' line as they use when talking about screens. I believe that the scoreboard areas were originally designed to have screens but administration stopped them being fitted, the cost for 2 screens has been quoted at about £750,000, money that the club doesn't want to spend.
leftsideoverhere Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 for anyone who cares, apparently theyve fixed the scoreboard So when we ask Mattock "what's the score?" tomorrow he will be able to tell us.

Guest Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 which I would imagine is pretty short sighted really, I would imagine that the possibility for increased revenue through advertising is pretty high on big screens and would no doubt return a profit in the long run I think the fact our shirts carry no sponsor, and the East Stand is no longer sponsored answers that question....
Raj Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 Fixed the scoreboard? Could have spent the money on players!!! Bloody Manderic.
Jaspa Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 I think the fact our shirts carry no sponsor, and the East Stand is no longer sponsored answers that question.... No... Remember only the front of the shirt isnt sponsored
Ford Super Sunday Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 No...Remember only the front of the shirt isnt sponsored To be fair, a 'substansial' FIVE figure sum from Jessops isn't exactly bucket loads of income is it?
Guest Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 No...Remember only the front of the shirt isnt sponsored To be fair, a 'substansial' FIVE figure sum from Jessops isn't exactly bucket loads of income is it? Exactly, and aren't Jesspos struggling financially as well? So it wouldn't be a huge amount.
maddog Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 Exactly, and aren't Jesspos struggling financially as well? So it wouldn't be a huge amount. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8279911.stm HSBC saved them, i'm shocked they're not gone yet though.

The paint doesn't need to be waterproof as the concourse is inside. It would be expensive though and once painted would have to be repainted every 5/10 years.
philce Posted 8 November 2009 Posted 8 November 2009 Fixed the scoreboard? Could have spent the money on players!!! Bloody Manderic. Part was fixed? I dont remember seeing the time? Just the time played? Players? We need a complete midfield!
DB11 Posted 8 November 2009 Posted 8 November 2009 There's still no time, but there is time played and where the messages and score goes.
willchafer Posted 8 November 2009 Posted 8 November 2009 we should have blokes standin on the roof either end holding up the score!
