thybluefox Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Alright, Anyone know the deal with the kop scoreboard? Chatting to a few people at the last home game, there was mentions of it being replaced. Kinda made sense as they've not fixed it in how long. Thanks chaps/chappettes/everyone else.
Guest Bilo Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 I hope so, it's embarrassing having a broken scoreboard. I'm pretty sure someone said the scoreboard was obsolete now and the parts to repair it no longer existed, so a replacement is probably a likely option. I want a colour one a la Loftus Road.

Will MM pay for a brand new colour one though?? It would be nice to see a replacement at both ends though...

Guest Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Will MM pay for a brand new colour one though?? Course he won't. He doesn't pay for anything. What we spend comes from what income we have, so anyone wanting a snazzy new scoreboard is likely to be very disappointed indeed.
StanSP Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Is there any remote chance that we could have a screen put up?? Or is that pushing the boat so far out you can't see it anymore?? To be honest, if you can't keep track off the scores at the Walkers Stadium, you need help.

Putting a screen up would mean removing seats i should of thought unless they do a southampton and do a half anf half which might mean roof structres would have to be strengthed?

I sit there and think its about time for half-time, and we're only in the 3rd minute!

It's a complete waste of money having a screen in my view. You pay to watch the football match not stare at a screen. You can see replays/highlights of the game when you get home. A operating scoreboard would suffice.

I think a screen/tv would be good, In one of the corners, I mean our stadium is never a sell out but not exactly empty a TV screen would make it look even more full, and surely it wouldn't be that much effort when a high profile/sell out game arises. Two question's is 1) How much would it cost? And we know the answer to this (And it pretty much makes the idea a no go) is would MM/The club pay for it? The answer being no.
Simi Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Just a suggestion . And why would there be a removal of seats?? Where is it going to go if you don't remove seats?

Just get the scoreboard working.
thybluefox Posted 15 October 2009 Author Posted 15 October 2009 Screen would be overkill. This would be more than adequate.

The question has been asked a number of times at the FCC meetings. The reply is "would you rather the money was spent on players or screens?". Seeing as we haven't really been splashing the cash on the player front, it's clear to see we ain't got the money for a screen.
StanSP Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Where is it going to go if you don't remove seats? Something like that? Obviously not exactly like that, but similar. Above the scoreboard if you remove that part of the roofing?? I know it sounds silly, and it most likely sounds impractical, but I guess something could be done in the future.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Bring back the colour one that was on top of the North Stand at Filbo. It was more entertaining to watch malfunction than the malfunctioning football team we had in 01/02. As for a screen, I'm pretty sure they can't show replays in case they influence a refereeing decision, I saw them in use at Franchise and Millwall last season, and personally I can't see the point, you get a good view of the action from all sides at Filbert Way, after all.

They can do it after the incident has passed, or even at half time. I remember when I went to see Spurs they had replays during the match, but after the incident (goal in this case) had passed.
Corky Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Had no idea it was broken Yep, been that way since December.

Dont worry, we should be able to see that massive one in the middle of town from the stadium...
Jiggers the Fox Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 Yep, been that way since December. I had no idea either! Would annoy me slightly not knowing the time gone, especially towards the end of the game

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 October 2009 Posted 15 October 2009 What annoys me is the fact we have the worst scoreboards possible for a new ground! The fact it took until April to get the time working again and they cant get the rest working is rediculous. Away fans must see it as a complete joke,
