Would seem a bit weird that they'd film someone looking over Leicester when they should be discussing a contract. I doubt that was Leicester.

The 1000 post mark has been surpassed without any major news since the original news that broke in Ian Cs opening post

Amazing.

Well, clicking on this link after been away from the FT forum for a few days was a surprise. I'd thought someone was having a laugh untill I checked other news site confirming that the dutch legend was actually considering us.

Now - I see some are laughing their arses off, the man has not played football since summer 2008. In my opinion this would definately give us some media attention, he is still a big star, and if he is 70% of what he was in his last year of professional fooball is he more than good enough for Championship football. The man epitomizes what NP wants, a real die hard fighting midfield.

Is he fit? Can he still pass the ball? Is he injury prone? I have no idea, but I like this idea - can't help it. :D:wub:

On a more grown up and "professional" fan point of view - a character of Edgar Davids rep would bring bags of experience to our younger players. He would be a good mentor. (I hope).

So now I am going to sit back and see if I still can be surprised in October ... I thought surprises were reserved for summer and January when it came to transfers. ;)

Just realised I read all these posts and not posted myself yet.

Plus this thread has slipped to fifth, should be constantly top. :)

Everyone else seems to have had their say, so I'll chuck me tuppence in, for what it's worth...

Why not sign him? MM does the books, so if he thinks we can afford his wages, so be it. I can just see Davids sitting in midfield, breaking up attacks, turning away sublimely and spreading it wide to Dyer, Gally and Dany. Isn't that what we need - a bit of quality and vision?

Get him in. What's the worst that could happen?? :|

Could waste 1 million over the course of a one year contract. Possibly more.

It's a gamble though, ain't it? We've wasted way more on much shabbier players in the past.

Spin the wheel, chuck the dice... he could be the difference between 8th and 2nd. Can't see any other player on our radar doing that.

What was that huge thread we had in transfer talk?? Then the guy went and signed for Wolves was it?? Freddy Eastwood?? Nahh he as never linked with us..... hmm it was definitely someone though!!
I suppose this is likely to be it - hardly a proper thread though!

That thread never has been in transfer talk.

The "I'm Going to Slit my Wrists Now Davids has joined West Brom" thread will become the biggest.

;)

Simon Cox!! That was it.

Edgar Davids is intrigued by an offer made to him by Leicester, says the midfielder's agent.

The Foxes revealed earlier this week that they are planning a sensational swoop for the veteran Dutchman.

Club owner Milan Mandaric has assured the club's supporters that wages will not be an issue and he is optimistic of landing the 36-year-old.

Davids is currently weighing up a number of offers, but his agent has confirmed that the approach from Leicester has caught his eye.

"He has several options but Leicester is very interesting for him. There will be a decision this weekend," said Robert Geerlings.

Former Holland international Davids is an iconic figure in world football, with his distinguished career taking him to some of the biggest clubs on the planet.

He made a name for himself with Dutch giants Ajax and has since turned out for the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and Inter Milan.

He enjoyed a brief two-year spell in England with Tottenham between 2005 and 2007, before returning to his roots at Ajax.

Davids has been without a club since being released by the Amsterdam-based outfit in the summer of 2008.

I really don't understand what the appeal of Leicester City would be to a player like Edgar Davids.

Even if he didn't play, though, he'd be great to have at the club. The guy is inspirational with his skills, ethic and everything he's achieved. Even watching that "how to be a midfielder" video on YouTube, it's obvious he's an intelligent guy who understands how to get the best out of people.

Davids set to make decisionEdgar Davids' agent Robert Geerlings has revealed the Dutch legend will make a decision this weekend about whether to join Championship side Leicester.

Nigel Pearson revealed earlier this week the Foxes are planning a sensational swoop for the midfielder.

Geerlings told Voetbalcentraal: "He has several options, but Leicester is very interesting for him. There will be a decision this weekend."

If he has lots of options, why is it only we get mentioned? Nobody else in English football is linked to him.

Perhaps a surf of the dutch, spanish, french and italian football sites is in order.

Because he has the option to;

Join us,

Not join us,

Ask for more money,

Ask for even more money,

Ask for even more money and still not join us,

Get a new agent, as surely he can do better than Leicester?

Go shopping in Morrisons

the list is endless!

More of these £ than anyone else is offering - he just needs to decide whether slumming it at LCFC is worth the extra £s
