Fosse Boy Posted 10 November 2009 Posted 10 November 2009 Everywhere, you live in Essex! Aye, but I'm in the classy East Anglian end.
StanSP Posted 10 November 2009 Posted 10 November 2009 Aye, but I'm in the classy East Anglian end. There's a classy part to East Anglia ?! I'd like to visit
Fosse Boy Posted 10 November 2009 Posted 10 November 2009 There's a classy part to East Anglia ?!I'd like to visit To quote a Norwich resident I know... Norwich is the Barcelona of England It was said without a hint of irony by the way.
Corky Posted 10 November 2009 Posted 10 November 2009 Not a fan of Ferguson, but he's done a brilliant job there. With his record he deserved a bit more time to sort it out.
Father Ted Posted 10 November 2009 Posted 10 November 2009 Big mistake by the Tossers. Hope it's Taylor, that way they'd NEVER win a game again in this league Plus, Peterborough away will be even better.
Guest Bilo Posted 10 November 2009 Posted 10 November 2009 Has Paul Ince already found a new job??? Yup, Franchise. Would be surprised to see him leave again for a club that MK will probably be playing next season anyway.
AjcW Posted 10 November 2009 Posted 10 November 2009 Skysports.com understands Peterborough United have approached Bournemouth regarding manager Eddie Howe and talks are expected on Wednesday.Championship strugglers Posh are searching for a new boss after parting company with Darren Ferguson on Tuesday by mutual consent. Howe has been installed as the bookmakers' favourite to take over at London Road after performing an excellent job at League Two Bournemouth. The Cherries sit at the top of the table, despite operating under a transfer embargo, and the 31-year-old has received high praise after taking charge on New Years Eve in 2008. Peterborough are now believed to have contacted Howe and he and assistant Jason Tindall are expected to hold talks with the club's hierarchy over the next few days. Posh sit bottom of the Championship and Ferguson, who had guided the club to successive promotions from League One and Two, paid the price for a run of one win in eight matches Strangely enough I thought he might be high up on the list. Doing great things with Bournemouth and he's young like Fergie Jr.
davieG Posted 11 November 2009 Posted 11 November 2009 Fry reckon Fergie was tapped up. Cherries boss rejects Posh talks Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe turns down the opportunity to talk to Peterborough following an approach from the Championship side.
Edmund Posted 11 November 2009 Posted 11 November 2009 Fry reckon Fergie was tapped up. Where did you read this?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 November 2009 Posted 11 November 2009 Where did you read this? It was on the BBC Radio Cambs during the press conference. Well worth a listen that conference just to hear Barry Fry sounding like a twat, and always having to have an opinion.
davieG Posted 11 November 2009 Posted 11 November 2009 Where did you read this? Breaking news on Sky Sports
The Doctor Posted 11 November 2009 Posted 11 November 2009 So that's what you get for leading a club to back-to-back promotions? Decisions like this almost make Milan Mandaric look sane. let's not go crazy.
davieG Posted 12 November 2009 Posted 12 November 2009 Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony believes the achievements of Leicester this season prove Darren Ferguson had to go. Posh were promoted automatically from League One behind Leicester last season and the Posh owner believes the Foxes have set the benchmark for what they should have achieved this term. Nigel Pearson's side are in sixth place while Posh lay bottom and MacAnthony is far from happy at the gulf. He said: "Leicester were nearly pipped to the League One title by us last year and they spent the same money as us in the summer but they are in the top six and we are bottom. They started as we should have started this season. "So that is why we need a new manager. It worked for Barnsley and it will work for us."
Fosse Boy Posted 12 November 2009 Posted 12 November 2009 Should we be flattered? He does realise that that was the first time we'd ever stooped to the depths of that division last year while his no mark club had been flirting with division four just the year before?

It's Football Chairman speak for 'I know FA about football'
StanSP Posted 12 November 2009 Posted 12 November 2009 It's his way of buttering up Pearson before offering him a job. Ain't gonna work bitch!
davieG Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 Kettering's Mark Cooper new Peterboro' Manager
Guest Bilo Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 Kettering's Mark Cooper new Peterboro' Manager Surely he'll be out of his depth at this level. I'm all for young managers getting a break, but the step up from BSP to a team already struggling in the Championship is going to be too big. I can't blame Cooper for taking on the job, but he sure as hell won't find it easy. Relegation beckons for Posh I think.

In that respect he's got nothing to lose, if they go down he can claim they were too far gone to save and he'll not be that far removed from his current position. If he succeeds then he'll prove the doubters wrong.
Corky Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 I can't see him doing much better than Ferguson really.
BoneDog Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 Flippin eck, I never saw this one coming! Good luck to the bloke, he's got a nice chance to really kickstart his managerial career now. If he can save them from relegation it will be a blummin miracle and he will be a hero down there.
Fox You Forest Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 Good for them. Might as well start preparing now for life at their rightful level.
Craig Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 Cooper's a very good manager, he's performed miracles at Kettering and i think he'll surprise a lot of people. Always thought he'd make it up to at least the Championship (albeit not this fast!). I hope he does well there, he deserves it.
Podge Posted 20 November 2009 Posted 20 November 2009 I hope he does well there being from Tamworth Cooper made my 17th and 18th birthday weekends more enjoyable with an away trip to Stoke in the FA cup third round and the replay and then Norwich at home the next year in the 3rd round again. Good memories
