Danglo Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 post the ****ers here , c'mon we need ratings if you were there! I was in the pub in Brum and saw it at 1-0. Gutted when I found out the final score but maybe its a good thing. Promotion would be chuffing awesome but would it be a season to early for our blossoming team? The way I see it with Pearson at the helm is a squad moving towards premiership establishment, but not quite yet. Its exciting to know we're on our way back, it will happen with Nige at the helm so lets enjoy the journey. BLUE ruddy ARMY!
teblin Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 Weale 6 - didn't have much to do did what he did well. Neilson 6 - Was ok Hobbs 7 - Bit shakey at time but steady Brown 8 - solid as a rock Berner 6 - Didn't think he was at his best today Wellen 7 - Worked hard, some great passing. King 7 - did the dirty work well. gallagher 6 - Seems a bit lost in the role he played Kermegant 7 - Won so much in the air very unlucky not to score twice, would like to see him up top. Fryatt 6 - Gone off the boil for me. Waghorn 7 - Great finish, worked hard, played well.

Anish Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 Weale 7 (did everything he had to do well) Neilson 6.5 (about the best we can expect from him) Hobbs 7 (good game except for the goal) Brown 8* (top performance- headed, blocked and cleared everything, he was a beast yesterday) Berner 7 (assured again but got caught out a couple of times) Wellen 6 (played well but as with King, needs to try to exert himself and dominate the midfield by helping us retain possession) King 6 (steady and does some good things intermittently, but really needs to stop hiding when the opposition is on top, too often goes missing) Gallagher 5 (woeful in the second half, awful positioning and too slow to close down the winger/make a block) Kermorgant 7 (for first half performance alone, did nothing of note in the second half when played right midfield) Fryatt 6 (time to drop him I'm afraid, couple of half chances that he should've buried) Waghorn 7 (great running, it all went to pot when Howard and DNG came on) Subs: Howard 5 (absolutely past it, Kermorgant showed that he is much better and stronger in the air) N'Guessan 5 (gave away possession too easily and poor touches - should've been on the wing with Kermorgant up top)
Fox92 Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 Weale 6 - Was ok. Still not sure about him. Need to see it on tape before I comment any more. Prefer their goalkeeper Neilson 7 Hobbs 7 Brown 7 Berner 7 Wellens 7 King 7 Gallagher 6 - Didn't notice him that much. Kermorgant 8 - Leicester City man of the match for me. Great all game. Denied a great goal. Fryatt 6 Waghorn 7.5 - Shouldn't have gone off. Subs: Howard 5 N'Guessan 5
marbelladave Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 Weale 6 Required to do very little, competent in all areas bar distribution which is still not good. Far too many ineffective long clearances though to be fair I suspect he is under instruction to get the ball forward quickly. Neilson 6 Continues to improve generally and is getting forward in support, however this is of dubious value as his crossing remains poor. Brown 7 Solid. Nothing to do first half, mopped up well in the second. Despite the pressure from Scunny he looked well in control though to my mind both he and Hobbs sit too deep. Hobbs 6 Very decent, near MOTM performance until gifting the equaliser. Not so much a mistake as a bit of bad luck compounded by a lack of composure. Marked him down half a point for the goal, though half of me thinks that is a bit unfair. Berner 7 Another very decent performance, got forward well enough but got little support from Gallagher. King 6 Solid largely defensive performance. Not being able (allowed?) to get forward takes a lot out of his game, shame. Along with Wellens he sat far too deep second half. Wellens 6 Decent first half performance without ever looking quite at his best. Disappeared into a largely defensive role second half. Gallagher 5 Looked ok on occasions first half but this was all too fleeting. Required to play a more defensive role after the break and was almost totally ineffective. looked fed up well before the end. Kermorgant 7 Good when he gets forward, less so when dropping into midfield. Like Gallagher he looks somewhat lost in the attacking midfield role. Waghorn 7.5 Well taken goal gains him an extra half point. His pace and energy was a constant threat but a lack of good ball and decent support meant that much of his effort was wasted. Fryatt 6 Another one of those games. He is the sort of player who does not impress when he does not score. Unlucky with his one decent chance, clawed away by the keeper at the last gasp. Subs. N'Guessan 4 Wrong man, pure and simple. More than useful if chasing a game, pointless when trying to hold on to one. Howard 4 Great reception for the man, though he is clearly in steep decline. Contributed little and to be honest, looks like he knows he is on his way out. Pearson 4 Not good. The system did not really work, much like last week, and we were far too defensive for too much of the game. Subs were a disaster. Still 3rd in the table so difficult to complain too much.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 Weale 6 - Only had to ick the balll out of the net and that was it. Neilson 7 - Steady again, nothing great. Hobbs 7 - Looked Ok Brown 8 - Rock. MOM for me. Berner 7 - Consistent as usual Wellens 6 - Gave the ball away a few times. King 7 - Similar game to Plymouth really. Gallagher 6 - Barely noticed especially in the 2nd half. Kermorgant 7 - Unlucky not to socre. Fryatt 5 - Still to greeedy and sometimes too predictable. Waghorn 7 - Good goal worked hard.
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 Without even being at the game, it's obvious that Fryatt needs to be dropped. His first opportunity should have been curled round the keeper, not a toe poke along the ground from 3 yards out. His second opportunity came from a great ball from Wellens which needed blasting first time and not three touches later. Put Kermorgant up front with Waghorn and bring in Oakley for Fryatt.
SamL Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 Weale (6) Nielsen (6) Brown (8) Hobbs (7) Berner (6) Kermogrant (8) King (7) Wellens (6) Gallagher (5) Waghorn (8) Fryatt (5)
Corky Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 Weale- 6 Neilson- 6 Hobbs- 7 Brown- 8 Berner- 6 Kermo- 8 King- 6 Wellens- 6 Gallagher- 5 Fryatt- 5.5 Waghorn- 8.5
sdb Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 Thought Wellens and Brown were very good. Gallagher handy on the ball but too uncommited defensively and in tackles for me. That said, not really playing where he wants. Kermogant and Waghorn impressed, i wouldn't drop Fryatt though - can't expect him to score every game. S****horpe looked so poor and for the first time ever i've not been worried whilst a goal up. Served me right i guess. Subs were poor, Oakley shoul've come in to shore things up but NP gets it right more often than not. Frustrating though,

You need a little faith. The reason why he's scored so many last season and this season is the manager's faith in him; consistent starts up front, not bits and bobs like previous managers gave him. He may not have had the best game but just remember where we'd be without him, certainly not 3rd in the league.

He may not have had the best game but just remember where we'd be without him, certainly not 3rd in the league. A good summary of why Fryatt gets to play every game. However picking him does restrict our options. He does not have the physical presence to lead the line as a lone striker and seems at his best alongside a big man. The combination with Waghorn flatters to deceive, they really do not seem to work well together, it is time he started alongside Yanni. If Fryatt starts we virtually have to play some variant of 4-4-2, none of our wide players appear to to have made the grade, leaving us with forwards deployed in the wide positions which was rarely effective. Currently we appear to be concentrating on getting the ball forward quickly with two frontmen as the target and two other attackers getting up in support. We got the ball forward at every opportunity but they were mostly hit from 40+ yards out and created just 2 chances, not good enough.

lcfc_jme Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 Weale - 6 Goon - 6 Wayne - 8 Jaaaaack - 6 Bruno - 6 Yann - 7 Wellens - 6 King! - 6 Gally - Pointless. Fryatt - 5 Waggy - 7 Subs: Too late and utterly pointless in the end. Pearson: Wrong for around 70 minutes. Referee: Atrocious and made Clattenburg look decent. Side Stand: Quality. Cliff Byrne: Gay.
