From The Mirror;

Nigel Pearson to plead for extra funds to boost Leicester's promotion push

Nigel Pearson is ready to ask Leicester City for a £3million transfer kitty to boost their promotion push.

And the response the Foxes’ manager gets from owner Milan Mandaric will help shape his own football future as contract talks have ground to a halt.

After leading Leicester to promotion from League One last May, Pearson has inspired a charge to the upper reaches of the Championship.

He knows his squad need boosting if they are to maintain their push for a return to the top flight.

Pearson has accepted that the club’s hierarchy do not want to resolve his personal contract situation.

But he won’t allow that to deflect him from his target of winning back-to-back promotions.

I hate reading the mirror/NOTW when they report about Leicester.

They make it seem as were in deep trouble.

Nigel Pearson to plead

Sounds like the blokes desperate for cash, I know we need money to inject into our squad, but why plead :S

?????????????? Now they make it like Milan doesn't want NP at the club.

Doesn't Waggys loan run out in Jan?

Getting him in on a permanent would be a great bit of business although i doubt Sunderland will let him go.

TBH if you wanted money out of MM you would need to plead.

Put these words in order - Chance. Stone. Blood. Of. Out. More. Getting. A.

Talking of bad sources;NOTW

GORDON STRACHAN wants striker Paul Dickov to add some bite to his faltering Middlesbrough side.

The Leicester hitman, 37, is on loan at Derby until the end of the year and the Boro boss will make his move in January.

Strachan is desperate to bring in new strikers after watching his side score just one goal in their last three games before Saturday's 2-2 draw at struggling Peterborough.

Dickov is 37 but is still fit and will bring some fire to a Middlesbrough side Strachan fears is too soft.

It could well be nonsense, but I'm sure the Mirror have a reasonable record when it comes to dealing with rumours about us. Loved the Dickov to Middlesbrough one in the NOTW today though.

Why are these clubs interested in Dickov? What do they see that we don't?

Perhaps they all want him to boost the other players esteem after Anelka revealed Dickovs dick is so small he can "fit it inside a polo"? lol

I'd be very surprised if it weren't renewed

   Dickov to Middlesborough!!!!!!

Infact just Dickov out the club :giggle:

Please be true, Please fuckov Dickov

Derby fan at work says he's playing well, if he was 5 years younger he'd be "an awesome signing"

They seem to see an experienced and proven goalscorer. Shame football isn't played on the paper they read that from.

How you guys in general feeling about being this high up the league with the year nearly being at a close? Do you want to go up or are you hoping you slip out of it, a bit like some of us Forest fans who fear we'll be the new Derby should we go up?

I never get that comment?! Full houses against the best club sides in the world? Look at Hull, Burnley, Stoke...are you saying you don't fancy some of that?! £40 million quid, £15-20 million transfer kitty (although probably less given that its Mandaric) and parachute payments for 3 years! Given what Pearson has done with a fraction of that money, no fan could surely not what you team to go up?! Madness......

You've got your stats wrong for a start. The masses of millions you get for going up are spread out over the season, not received in one lump sum and parachute payments only last for 2 seasons.

I want the best for my club as much as the next Forest fan, the healthy injection of cash which gets spread over the course of the season would help out greatly with our new stadium in mind. However I will point out that the best for my club counts in terms of results and the squad being good enough. Money helps no end but when you have a squad thats nowhere near good enough and you get thumped week in, week out; could you honestly sit in the stand and say well think about our bank balance guys. You speak of parachute payments but if you look at clubs that come down; the few players that shone are soon snapped up by mid table to lower end clubs in the premier league or from abroad.

When we go up, I want us to be taken seriously with a squad that has excellent quality to maintain a stay in the top flight. We get the money and results then; everyone's a winner.

As I said, I'd love it if we went up but can you honestly be happy sitting and watching your team lose week after week, thinking I can't wait for next season? Ask Pompey fans what they think to that thought at the moment. Patience is a virtue.

But who is to say if you don't go up this season that you won't end up in mid-table mediocrity the next season. Teams that get close to promotion but fail, have a bad habit of doing poorly the following season. So from that basis, along with the big games, more money, bigger crowds, more hype, better players to go with the decent ones we already have, Leicester + Linekar back on MOTD - I for one would take promotion every time.

And as you say, with a new stadium on the way, how do you expect to pay for these players who have excellent quality and would be willing to go to a Championship club...I'm sorry but football isn't that simple. Building can take many years, so if it comes around earlier than expected you have to take it while you can. I bet Pompey fans would be honest enough to say that have had a great ride since coming up with us all those years ago, and as for Derby...firstly who cares! Secondly, at least they had the chance to screw it up. They also had the chance to be a success, which is what I want having craved it since the O'Neill days.

It won't happen this season, I think we are very decent Championship side, but whether we have got the consistency and quality over 46 games to push for automatic promotion I doubt it. But if you scrape the play-offs its a lottery. I for one would love a Forest v Leicester play-off final...although I would be shit scared of the abuse if we lost!!

Well this is bollocks anyhow because wasn't it stated by Milan/Hoos that if we were in the hunt in Jan then funds would be made available?
