Fox92 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale - There is no other option Nielson - A real full back Hobbs Morrison Berner - Had a rest, now get him back in. McGivern is rubbish N'Guessan - Real winger Wellens Oakley Dyer - The other real winger Kermogrant - Got to play a target man, if we kick it to long Fryatt - Scored didn't he I would recall Gradel. I know its a division below, but full backs fear players/wingers that run at them. Dyer comes inside too much for me.
Dan Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale Morrison -- Hobbs -- Brown -- BernerGradel (recall) -- Oakley © -- Wellens -- N'GuessanHoward -- Fryattsubs: Pentney, Neilson, McGivern, Adams, King, Gallagher, Kermorgant Right, those 4 in defence have proven they are good enough, Brown is having a tough time and like the other times I think he will pull out of it, Berner had one bad game but he is twice the player of Ryan McGivern in my opinion. The problem thats obvious for me is the midfield, I cannot understand why Pearson keeps playing a central midfielder in Oakley on the right wing when he clearly lacks pace or ability to beat his man, he also doesn't stay wide, and I feel the criticism Oakley is getting is pretty harsh because he isn't getting the chance to show his full ability. Max Gradel is on absolute top form for Leeds, I'm sorry to Leeds but we just have to recall him, he is on fire and we are lacking in wide players, bring him back and give him another shot for us, he has the right attitude and is proving just what he can do. N'Guessan is also an option on the left wing as a creative wide player, so do that. The reason I sacrificed King, well unfortunately, I just don't rate him that highly, he seems pretty anonymous every game to me, makes some nice passes and sometimes clears up things, but nothing as good as Wellens or Oakley. Up front, time to go back to those two, Fryatt got a goal and changed a lot of the game yesterday (based on the Radio, I was too ill) so he merits a start, we all know what he can do. Steve Howard is one that I think a goal is coming any game soon, obviously Waghorn is suspended for three games so thats buggered us a bit, but as long as the team don't be too lazy and just lump it up to Howard at any possible oppurtunity, then I think we should be quite capable of winning on Saturday and maybe even getting a respectable result the following. One thing I'd say about Leicester is the absolute lack of off the ball movement from the team, take Forest for example, Berner and Neilson had poor games, but where was their option in attacking? Absolutely none at all. I'm pretty sure if we put out that team on Saturday and worked harder off the ball then we could be in for a comfortable win. Just my thoughts anyway.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Get Adams in for a start, let's have at least one trier in the team.
Joe. Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale Neilson --- Hobbs --- Brown --- Berner Adams --- Oakley --- Wellens --- N'Guessan Fryatt --- Howard
Guest Bilo Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale Neilson Morrison Hobbs Berner Adams Wellens Oakley Dyer Gallagher Fryatt subs: Logan, Brown, Kermorgant, Wellens, N'Guessan, Howard, McGivern Gallagher is and always has been a striker, play him in his natural position and he can do well. No-one really deserves to retain their place after the past two games but I've relegated the worst offenders to the bench. After all, things can only get better surely?

Simo86 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 All i want to see is only two of the three centre mids playing. Oakley is not a right winger! Preferably i'd have Oakley and Wellens. I'd go for- Weale Neilson Brown Hobbs Berner Adams Oakley Wellens N'Guessan Fryatt Kermorgant Subs- Pentney, Morrison, Dyer, Howard, Gallagher, King, Gradel(recall)/McGivern
Dan Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Oakley? I can't fault him, hes been out of position, Pearson is more to blame for Oakleys poor form than Oakley is.
Simo86 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I can't fault him, hes been out of position, Pearson is more to blame for Oakleys poor form than Oakley is. Totally agree with this
morris1234 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 weale morrison hobbs brown berner n'guessan wellens oakley dyer fryatt kermorgant/howard
marbelladave Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 And now for something completely different; (Cue a nice bit of Sousa) ---------------Weale---------------- O'Neil---Morrison---Hobbs---Berner ------------King---Wellens----------- ---Dyer---Gallagher---N'Guessan--- -------------Kermorgant------------- Bench Adams to come on as attacking mid should someone fail to do their job Fryatt to support Yanni should we need more fire-power Plus the usual cover.

Yes very true but Im not being funny hes supposed to be a professional footballer, its not like hes been asked to play in goal! I made the post because he seemed to be one of the ones people were singleing out for criticism thats all. Matt Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Anyone who is remotly up for actually trying to win the game.
Guest Bilo Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Oakley? I can't fault him, hes been out of position, Pearson is more to blame for Oakleys poor form than Oakley is. What he said. Oakley can't play on the right for shit I'm afraid, and he hasn't done much wrong in the middle as captain.
The Doctor Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Oakley? I can't fault him, hes been out of position, Pearson is more to blame for Oakleys poor form than Oakley is. it still comes down to the fact that in the last two games he's played we have put in worse performances than anything i have seen under NP. Weale Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner Adams Wellens King N'guessan Fryatt Kermorgant - If we are going to play long ball all the time we need a striker whose good in the air on the pitch rather than hitting it up to waghorn who is way too short for that tactic to work without makor defensive cock ups. subs Pentney (there's a reason why logan hasn't played for us since 2006), Brown, Academy defender (not mcGivern. Sent him back to man city before he does anymore damage), Oakley, Gradel/academy winger, Gallagher, Howard.

What would be brave (and stupid) would be putting out more or less the same team, playing in the same way and expecting anything different.
calum_lcfc Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I would like to see a team along the lines of :- Weale - Still rate him Neilson - as much as I don't rate him who else do we have Hobbs - Give the kid time Morrison - Deserves a chance, also hoping if Brown is dropped it may push him to return back to the start of season form Berner - Still number one full back in the club without a dobut N'Guessan - Strong winger Wellens - IF he turns up he can be class Oakley - Skipper Dyer - Out and out winger and always streches the play Fraytt - Despite the offisdes he is our best shout at scoring Kermit - Big man up top to aim for and is in better form than big Steve Bench - Logan, Brown, McGivern, King, Adams, Gallagher, Howard
Tommy G Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I can't believe how many Oakley's are in people's teams Open your eyes, he's not untouchable just because he is capt? He couldn't even pass the ball 10 yards last night, or control it, or tackle etc. King and Wellens for me. Give Oakley a break until the new year/until he is interested in playing for us again.

I agree with you on the fact he is not untouchable but King was poor last night and even worse at Forest so surely you go with the skipper? Knowing Pearson he will play him out right anyway so our time talking about it is wasted

Since the end of September, Wellens has been particularly awful. His performance against West Brom was stinking, and even against QPR I felt he was a distant third to Oakley (who I thought was magnificent) and King. In that sense it reminds me a little of Clemence. All promise on arrival, shit by the time the shops started to sell their Christmas goods.

I like the idea of giving O'Neil a go, he's done well whenever he's played for the 1st team (mainly in the cups last season) and was impressive in pre season.
