howsyourfather Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I just wanted to get that off my chest about king, i've disliked him and the praise he gets for a long time now, he's bob, end of. Yes Brown was very poor in those two games but before then he was the best thing since sliced bread, the bloke who should be captain, he'll break your fooking legs yada yada...... he obviously isn't all that bad. Playing Morrison i can agree with but i don't think chucking in luke o'neil will achieve anything to be fair. I think if we to start o'neil on saturday that would be a very negative message. Lose two games, drop everyone and get the kids out, why we're at it why not get that lad back from accrington, he'll be a great replacement for fryatt as i hear he's making waves up there.
SMX11 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Im a great believer in not playing people out of position therefore I would go with: GK- Weale DR- Neilson DC- Hobbs DC- Morrison DL- Berner MR- N'Guessan MC- Wellens MC- Oakley ML- Dyer/Adams ST- Kermorgant ST- Fryatt Please NP dont play Oakley on the right ever again!!
FleckneyFox Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale Neilson - Morrison - Hobbs - Berner Gradel - Oakley - Wellens - Adams Fryatt - Howard Logan - Brown - King - Dyer - N'Guessan - Kermorgant - Gallagher
Jfox Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Our Problem is the midfield not the defence. we are conceding goals because the midfield isn't getting back. we are not scoring because the midfield isn't providing. the midfield problem is we do not have any width because oakley is not a winger for this reason keep the defanse the same and change the midfield (of saturday not tuesday) Weale - is far and away our most consistant of the season so far Neilson - is a crap attacker but can defend (dont kill me for saying that) Hobbs - hasn't really been at fault to much Brown - experience with hobbs Berner - our best defender of the season N'Guessan - always a threat, quick and powerful and good in the air Oakley - captain better in the centre Clemence (if fit) - for the defensive element or Wellens Dyer - provide width and pace Fryatt - scores goals, simple Howard - whatever people say about him, he provides a threat, wins almost everything in the air and fryatt knows how to play with him
fatboy Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Howard does not provide a threat in the air, teams put two men on him, he's hardly won a header all season. when was the last time he scored a header? Team Weale Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner Adams King Wellens Dyer Kermorgant Fryatt Our Problem is the midfield not the defence. we are conceding goals because the midfield isn't getting back. we are not scoring because the midfield isn't providing. the midfield problem is we do not have any width because oakley is not a winger for this reason keep the defanse the same and change the midfield (of saturday not tuesday)Weale - is far and away our most consistant of the season so far Neilson - is a crap attacker but can defend (dont kill me for saying that) Hobbs - hasn't really been at fault to much Brown - experience with hobbs Berner - our best defender of the season N'Guessan - always a threat, quick and powerful and good in the air Oakley - captain better in the centre Clemence (if fit) - for the defensive element or Wellens Dyer - provide width and pace Fryatt - scores goals, simple Howard - whatever people say about him, he provides a threat, wins almost everything in the air and fryatt knows how to play with him
Ozwin Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Without wingers we're not a scary looking opposition for anyone. As soon as the other team sees Lloyd Dyer and Danny N'Guessan on the wings they'll instantly sit back more and it'll open things up. I hate how compact we seem to be at the moment, our midfield isn't there because there's 3 players who are all doing the same thing, Oakley might aswell have been a CM for all the use he was at right wing last night. I feel Fryatt needs to be in the line up too, for the same reasons as Dyer and N'Guessan being on the pitch, his name will strike fear into the other side and they'll invite pressure by sitting back.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale Neilson Morriosn Hobbs Berner N'Guessan Oakley - Needs to be played in a CM role King/Wellens - Not bothered either way, both have been shite lately. Dyer/Adams - We need wingers and both deserve the chance Howard/Kermo - Like to see Howard given his place back, he has a point to prove, but wouldnt be disappointed if Kermo plays Fryatt We need to start scoring so wingers is the only way I can think of helping things at this moment, whilst if Brown plays I will be dismayed with Pearson.
Ozwin Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Did anyone see Adam's reaction when Fryatt scored last night? He kicked a bottle or something and had a bit of a strop in the corner. He's definately passionate about the limited chances he's getting so I reckon he'd be well up for it, get him in.
StanSP Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Get Logan back in goal. Weale's fucking shite. Why the fuck did Pearson buy him. He's useless and never attempts to save anything.
Salieri Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale O'Neill - Hobbs - Morrison - Berner Adams - Wellens - Oakley - Dyer Kermorgant - Fryatt
The Doctor Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Howard does not provide a threat in the air, teams put two men on him, he's hardly won a header all season. when was the last time he scored a header? probably a rhetorical question but it was his last goal for the club, the winner against leeds back in april.
tartanowl Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 The one player that really worries me is Richie Wellens. He is a quality midfield player. I cant really predict our team at the moment because we're playing that bad it is changing all the time! I'll go with something like: Lee Grant Lewis Buxton Darren Purse Mark Beevers Tommy Spurr Jermaine Johnson Darren Potter Sean McAllister Michael Gray Marcus Tudgay Luke Varney
Guest Mee-9 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale Neilson - Hobbs - Morrison - Berner Adams - Wellens - King - Dyer Kermorgant - Fryatt Not much more to choose from. Oakleys a waste of space. We need Tunch back.

I cant really predict our team at the moment because we're playing that bad it is changing all the time! When he is good he can be the difference but when he is bad he gives the ball away too much and can be awful. He has been bad for the last month or so now IMO, but then so has King and Oakley.
Father Ted Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale O'Neill Morrison Hobbs BernerAdams King Wellens DyerFryatt Kermorgant However, Pearson will not play this.
the buckwheat Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 ------------ Weale ------------- Nielson - Hobbs - Brown - Berner N'Guessan - Wellens - Oakley - Dyer ---- Kermorgant - Fryatt ---- Just before that Yann returns to France in January, end of his contract, 3 weeks to score C'mon Big Yann
Dan Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I really can't believe people are selecting Andy King for their squads, has no one noticed how he's a lightweight pr~ck who makes no tackles and spends mosts games doing f all, we started the season without him in midfield and it seemed to work fine. Apart from calling him a ****, I actually totally agree with this. As far as I'm watching, hes not looked nearly as useful as a central midfielder should be, he regularly looks nackered and the amount of praise he gets from our fans actually stuns me. Oakley >>> King I think, well at the minute anyway. Wellens & Oakley worked fine, it seems we have been sacrificing the wingers for Andy King, who in return doesn't do nearly enough.
davieG Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 People have short memories a midfield of Wellens/Oakley doesn't work fine and was regularly over run as was any of our 2 man mid fields. We've tried the diamond with and without Oakley and that doesn't work we should now try a 451 combo with a midfield trio of Oakley Wellens King with 2 wingers from N'Guessan, Adams, Dyer, Gradel (if recalled) with the emphasis on attacking and either Fryatt, Gallagher or Yann up front depending on the oppos defensive capabilities.
dypatel06 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale Neilson Morrison Hobbs Berner Adams Oakley Wellens/King NGuessan Kermorgant Fryatt Give Adams a go. Either Kermit or Gallagher up top, even though he played pathetic on Tuesday. Drop Brown, he's playing very poor. NGuessan didn't play too bad on Tuesday, so give him another go.
Alf Bentley Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale Neilson - Hobbs - Morrison - Berner Adams - Wellens - King - Dyer Kermorgant - Fryatt Not much more to choose from. Oakleys a waste of space. We need Tunch back. Spot on, but with Kermogant dropping deep, sort of 4-4-1-1 with attacking width and Kermo linking midfield and attack.
Spiritwalker Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Weale Nielson - Hobbs - Brown - Berner Adams - Wellens - Oakley - Dyer Kermorgant - Fryatt This.

Exactly what I suggested. Gradel would fit that formation perfectly as well.

Aye, I was thinking a 4-5-1 as well with Fryatt or Gallagher leading the front line - the problem is that it does appear to be a bit of a negative outlook against a very mediocre team at home. Going 4-5-1 at home to the currently dire Sheffield Wednesday side [no offence to them of course] won't sit well with many fans. Thracian and MarbellaDave would have a total field day if we lost. Still, it's worth a try I suppose; Weale Neilson - Hobbs - Brown - BernerN'Guessan - Oakley - Wellens - King - DyerFryatt
