fox123 Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 For the past 13 years (without fail) I have gone up town on Christmas Eve, started on the beer at around 10:30am and tried lasting as long as possible. Seems to be getting earlier every year I finish, but one year we stayed out til 3am, hoping to beat the 3pm of last year however. If anyone is up for a few beers Christmas Eve more than welcome to join in.
Daggers Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Once, we tried an alternative to turkey - some vegetable nutroast piece of cardboard shit. Never fucking ever again.
Bert Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 When I was younger, me, my brother mum and stepdad always went to my grandmas for Christmas. We'd get there on Christmas eve, and later on the rest of the family would come round for a little gathering. I loved the fact that we were always first there too, and last to go. My grandparents did the best Christmas dinner ever. The kid in me still wishes that we could all do the same thing now, because I used to love that so much and it's something that I'll never ever forget.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Christmas Eve : Big clean up round the house. This originated from the days when my parent's would say, "If you don't have a clean house, Santa won't come" Dunno why I still bother, but suppose its a tradition Christmas Day : Go round nans. Always happens. Typical British Xmas day : Eat dinner, Fall asleep infront of Toy Story, or Bugs Life. Boxing Day : Leicester match. SORTED.
Darkzzz_ Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Xmas eve - Eat, drink and fall asleep on the sofa. Xmas day - Eat, drink and fall asleep on the sofa. Pretty much routine.
Tilley Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 I honestly couldn't get drunk on Christmas Eve, just can't imagine eating my Christmas dinner with a hangover. Who would want to feel shit when you're tucking into the best dinner of the year! Christmas is going to be shit this year, bloody operation three days before, worst timing possible.
Fosse Boy Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Christmas Eve - Get smashed in Harborough. Best night of the year ususally. Christmas Day - Eat. Boxing Day - Football if not working.

FilboFox Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 1. Everyone in the family comes round... my aunt and her partner, gran and grandad and even dad and my step mum come round too... and then of course myself and my three siblings and my mum and my step dad. Christmas Eve: Massive buffet with Gran and grandad already there, watch some crap on tv and generally enjoy ourselves before the big day. Christmas Day: Lots and lots of food... everyone comes round and there is much merriment and present giving... oh and did I mention the food... Boxing Day: Finishing off the leftover food from Christmas Day! That and a sneaky bit of football when I can it in... normally over Christmas the tv is never on as 1. there isn't any time and 2. my mum doesn't want it on.
jonthefox Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 i always buy a bottle of jack daniels and never open it until the kids are in bed on crimbo eve. its normally gone by xmas day.

Guest Bilo Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Chrimble Eve: Usually hang around doing sod all. Going down to see the lady this year, good times. Go home, get pissed the night before. Chrimble Day: Wake up with hangover, open presents, eat Christmas dinner and sit down watching DVDs friends and family have bought for me. Boxing Day: Work. Christmas is shit between childhood and parenthood anyway.
Finnegan Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Christmas is shit between childhood and parenthood anyway. Agreed. TV you've seen too many times before, songs you've heard too many times before, an overglorified Sunday lunch and a grand reminder that you can't pick your family. Meeeerrry Christmas.

Alexikokopops Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Well I still enjoy Christmas. Not even for the presents so much, I quite like seeing my family.
Uncle Albert Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Christmas Eve - Get up do the tidying up as my family comes mine at night, then me and all my mates have a massive kickabout down the park for a couple of hours.. Then without fail I will go to my Nan's to wrap my Mum's presents up and usually see my other cousins there. Nan - Livid. Then the family comes mine at night, possibly debut town at night. Christmas Day - Up at stupid o'clock because of the little sister, open presents Nan comes down, I make my way back upstairs for sleep. Dinner at my Nans where the whole family goes, be 18 of us this year. Stay at my Nans allday and night, getting hammered. Boxing Day - Dog Racing and the pubs.
lou Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Well I still enjoy Christmas. Not even for the presents so much, I quite like seeing my family. My feelings exactly, I hardly get anything but love to get the kids stuff and watch them open it all. Also my parents are getting on a bit and not in the best of health so I treasure every minute I can with them as you dont know how many more Xmas's we'll all be together. Morbid maybe but I like to appreciate them all, especially at Xmas.
