Sell before we buy!

I can't remember exactly but it was something to do with being a free and playing for 2 clubs in one season. I may be completely off mark but I'm sure that's along the right lines.

Ive heard from a number of Derby fans Criss Commons is available in January. Top player in my my book but is rather injury prone. Would love a swap deal deal involving DJ and Dickov. Derby fans are very happy with DJ and especially Dickov they think he's the dogs danglies for the effort he puts in and want him at least until the end of the season.

So we'd get an injury prone striker while they'll get two players that couldn't hit a barn door with a homing sniper (if such a thing exsisted). Sounds like a no-win transfer to me.

the rules actually state that a player can't play on permanant forms for more than two clubs in a season. So he could still play for another club than palace.

Oh right, I'll be quiet then :)

the main confusions over the whole bosman thing. I'll do some research and get back.

Here we go:

FIFA Rules

•International transfers of players under 18 are restricted to special circumstances

•Clubs will be able to receive compensation for players aged under 23, who move during the currency or at the end of their contracts

•This will no longer be a negotiated transfer fee, it will be calculated instead to specific criteria

•Contracts will be for a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 years

•There will be one transfer period per season, with a limited mid-season window. Only one transfer per player per season

•When a contract is signed up till the players 28th birthday, a unilateral breach in the first three years will give rise to compensation and the application of sports sanctions restricting a players ability to play immediately for his new club

•When a player is signed after his 28th birthday, the above applies but only for the first two years of the contract

•A new arbitration system was established to provide an effective and swift alternative to civil litigation

and here's the details of ambroses transfer

Details

so as he signed a contract with them after not being offered a new deal at charlton, the transfer wasn't a bosman. He was released from his contract and signed elsewhere so he can move in january.

why do so many people wanna sell fryatt? the one player that can actually score for us and we want him to go. yes you could go and find four or five players for 750k but who will be able to step up to the championship, and their wages will cost loads for a few unproven players that could go fatally wrong.

Because they spent 2 seasons slagging him off and he's making them look stupid.

Derby have paid silly wages in their time. Its common knowledge they are trying to shift Luke Varney to Sheff Weds, as he is on around £17k a week. He is the joint top paid player along with Rob Hulse. If they can free that up, hopefully they can afford DJ.

I would take Varney here to be fair, on cut wages though!

Think he'd come here too as a Leicestershire lad and (apparently) City fan as well. Even without that taken into account, we're in a better position to progress than either Derby or Wednesday.

I think hes a talented player but I worry about his temperament

Yep. Can see him becoming a poor man's Stan Collymore, undeniably talented but too much of an idiot to fulfill his potential. Too big a risk at the kind of money Leeds are likely to want.

They're out there somewhere on this Earth.

We just have to find them.

My point was that selling Fryatt could allow us to buy a centre back for 750k, a centre mid for 750k, a winger for 750k or a striker for £1.5m or two strikers at 750k each.

I would rather have four 750k players than Fryatt.

Somewhere, there are four quality players avaliable for 750k each. NP and Shaky will find them.

I was beginning to think you were starting to talk a bit more sense of late, but that post proves it was sadly just a false dawn.

Fryatt (like it or not) is one of the very few players we have of genuine potential. I would say quality but he's not at that level (yet). I'm more concerned about your plan of action AFTER we have sold him for £3 million plus. You would seriously want 4 or 5 players arriving at the club in his place? It's not just about transfer fees, its about wages as well. I would take one QUALITY player for 2 or 3 £million than several "bargain" signings any day of the week.

Its all about (and its easier said than done) offloading DJ, Dickov plus as many fringe players as possible in return for one, or possibly two players who can improve our team.

a rifle renders that comment completely untrue plus i think we'd get some sort of insurance payout as well.

you've been living in the states too long my friend, we don't have that sort of hunting accidents over here ...

we should out franchise MK dons and move to the states That way we'd win the league year in year out.

we can buy players for 750k but we wont get a young proven striker for 750k, proven strikers look at what chopra and earnshaw moved for to get an idea of how much they cost.

I am not fryatt's biggest fan but to ship our top scorer would be pretty dumb. Sadly I am not too confident of us keeping him, MM doesnt want to spend his own cash and NP will likely have to get rid of a 1st teamer to get proper funds.

I predict one of these 3 will leave, possibly 2 of them.

weale

fryatt

gradel

dickov will probably go also but it will be for free.

campbell will probably just get his loan extended.

I'd like to think we're only going to lose fringe players and this doesn't mean we'll lose important players.

I've no qualms at all with us selling the likes of Porter, Verma, Logan, Adams, O'Neill, Ajdarevic, Burns, Pentney, Rowe-Turner, Chambers, Dickov, Worley, Wesolowski, Sappleton, or Cisak. We obviously don't want to shit the lot as we need back ups.

I'd like to see Gradel be given a chance in the first team but if Nigel doesn't see him as a future Leicester player, let him move on also.

I'd like to see more of Billy Kee before we consider shifting him on but by all accounts he hasn't set the world alight as Accrington like I thought he might.

The rest of the team needs to be left alone!!!

Blimey, I'd forgotten about Chambers :o

So much promise as a young lad but has fallen of the radar. I'm not even sure where he's at now.
