davieG Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 The season ticket thing was explained at the FCC meeting in September, and you can understand why they dropped it. When it was used in 2003, when Crewe came-a-visiting, the crowd was like 27,000, meaning the club still had to shell out for Crewe's gate receipts, costing about £80k (apparantly)Seriously not worth it. 12,000... it'll be VERY interesting if the same prices apply, but the opponent is Liverpool in the 4th round... Methinks some fans will be 'doing it' then But a large proportion of that would have been paid up front by the fans when they bought their season ticket - you could argue that the 3rd rd game was 'free' but in reality it would be a 25th the price of the ST sales. They know what they get for that a % of which would go to to opponents plus a % of the 'actual' gate receipts on the day. If that comes to £80k on a 27K gate full of ST holders then what's the problem seems fair enough to me, surely better than a 12k gate in a 32k stadium.
lcfcadam Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 I'm in Dunfermline and was going to Fife derby but the fecking pigs decided that the fact there's some snow which 'might' come along later is enough to call off a game when the pitch and surrounding areas are absolutely fine. Never has the song "We pay for your hats, you're a waste of council tax" been more at the forefront of my mind... So I won't be at the Walkers, meaning it's bound to be a superb game where we run riot and win 5-1 (their goal coming from a very dodgy penalty).

maddog Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 I think it will definitely be more than 15k. 16k-18k i think.
haraven Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Stop making your bloody tea and watching EastEnders on replay, get your beeehinds down to Walkers, grab a pukka pie and cheer city on you muppets!
IOWFOX Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 ahh this is horrible, first weekend home game missed this season so wish i could be there but my car almost killed me last couple of times on motorway if your there make some noise for the lads
NewquayFox Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 16423. Give or take a few thousand,. 3.0 win for City, Fryatt 2, 1 pen, Mc Givern. ;0)
Guest Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 I said 12,362 in the pub before the game But a large proportion of that would have been paid up front by the fans when they bought their season ticket - you could argue that the 3rd rd game was 'free' but in reality it would be a 25th the price of the ST sales. The problem with the Crewe game was that not all STHs went to the game. The attendance, for the purposes of ticket receipts, was higher than the actual attendance, which is why City had to pay Crewe more and make a loss on the night. The Cup games were never free in the first place; they were extra games included in the price of the season ticket. If we didn't have a home cup game, this was taken into account when we renewed our season ticket. I personally don't see a problem in STs being limited to league games only, as it does then give one the option of ducking out an uninspiring cup tie, not that I would, of course.

And that's a reason why I said the gates are generally lower. I think if you've been to the 1st game you're more likely to go to subsequent games. Wigan - Hull just over 5K
sbfox Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Appalled by our attendance today, the Walkers sounded very empty at times in the first half. Would be tempted to suggest that those who attended this one should get priority on tickets for the next round, especially if its a big club.
Guest Bilo Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 We'll get 32,000 in for a big club. Not least because the club MAY take the option to hand over a fook-off allocation. The ST booklets do state that the entirety of the North Stand as well as L1 can be handed over to visiting supporters if the demand is there. Not sure they'd need to, the part-time fans would come crawling out of the woodwork if we draw Manure or Chelski at home.

I think we have to give 15% of capacity to the away side which is nearly 5,000. We wouldn't need to give anymore away if we drew one of the big 4,we'd sell out easy.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 I remember when Spurs came in 2006 and took over so much of the stadium. It was great, especially as our attendance was shit, just over 19k I remember that day. Bad day all round for attendances, 8k at Sheff Wed, 26k at Villa, 5k at Wigan, 12k at Boro and 12k at the Walkers. I'd like to research their ticket prices, but still, not a good day for the third round. Though to be fair, it has been a shocking draw if we're honest

Legend_in_blue Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 A tin pot opposition is always going to attract a low attendance. Give us a decent premiership team fa cup tie at home in the next round and I won't mind paying the extra on top of the season ticket price to go and watch it.
Babylon Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 A tin pot opposition is always going to attract a low attendance. I'm sure Swansea consider us tin pot also!

Would be tempted to suggest that those who attended this one should get priority on tickets for the next round, especially if its a big club. Most probably will, I'd assume 90% of our fans attending today were STH's. 12k wasn't amazing, I expected around 17-18k, but still decent when compared to other crowds (Middlesbrough's, Wigan's, Sheff Wed's).
C-man Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 tin pot You rate Robbie Neilson and have the audacity to call another club 'tinpot?'
Hugo Sanchez Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 You rate Robbie Neilson and have the audacity to call another club 'tinpot?' Sheff Wed 8k ... That is fooking bad. They're not a bad club.
haraven Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 You'd think that FA CUP at this level would attract more people, especially since we've had 2 games cancelled on short notice as well I'd have hoped more people turned up in style.
Fosse Boy Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 Only paid a fiver for an under 18s ticket yesterday thnks to my cunning disguise...
Floating Fox Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 I can see why no-one bothers though. My first home game since August and whist I had an awesome time I can see why people can't be arsed anymore.
acooling08 Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 I never go to cup games if our opposition is in our league unless its forest or derby.
