StanSP Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Respect aims to deal with poor behaviour in football and establish a positive environment in which players, staff, officials, fans and young footballers alike can enjoy the nation's favourite game. Expect to see red cards, dangerous tackles and Pearson and Hughton tearing at each other then
Ashley Posted 27 January 2010 Author Posted 27 January 2010 Expect to see red cards, dangerous tackles and Pearson and Hughton tearing at each other then The event will involve grassroots participation at the Walkers Stadium before kick-off and at half-time, both teams warming up in Respect t-shirts, large scale giveaways by The FA to raise awareness and a Respect card display by fans in the Marks Electrical family stand prior to kick off.
acooling08 Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Who gives a shit? The 1st blatant penalty claim we have that gets turned down (there's bound to be at least one) all of us will be screaming insults at the ref. The respect campaign can fvck off. Keep the passion in the game.
Matt Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 I give it 30 seconds after the KO when my respect for the referee/linesman gets thrown out the window.
Ultra Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Have we got a new sponsor? At least one correspondent will be extremely cheesed off by this..

acooling08 Posted 29 January 2010 Posted 29 January 2010 I would respect officials if they could do their fvcking job right.
Houdini Logic Posted 29 January 2010 Posted 29 January 2010 Let's have a 'respect our footballing history' campaign and put the fooking match back to 3pm
Guest Mee-9 Posted 29 January 2010 Posted 29 January 2010 What a load of tosh. Respect fixture? The FA's new initiative to attempt to gain abit more respect in the game. It's not going to happen. We saw what happened at the Man City vs Man Utd game in midweek, when Bellamy got pelted by a coin, and beer bottles. It's a waste of time.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 29 January 2010 Posted 29 January 2010 Referee's gonna have a shocker Nailed on now.
DB11 Posted 30 January 2010 Posted 30 January 2010 I give it 30 seconds after the KO when my respect for the referee/linesman gets thrown out the window. # yoiur a twat
purpleronnie Posted 30 January 2010 Posted 30 January 2010 Who really gives two tosses? Hopefully no-one.
davieG Posted 30 January 2010 Posted 30 January 2010 From OS Today's clash with Newcastle United (5.20pm) will see a number of pre-match events staged at the Walkers Stadium in front of a huge crowd. This is The FA's first ever Respect match nationwide, and the Marks Electrical Family Stand will be the centre of attention at the game. The FA will be giving away thousands of Respect freebies: foam hands, Respect badges, DVDs, hats and other items to help increase the profile of the Respect campaign. In addition, spectators in the Marks Electrical Family Stand will be part of a card display in support of Respect and in front of a national TV audience. Supporters in this stand are asked to be in their seats as early as possible, approximately 15 minutes before kick-off. The Leicestershire & Rutland County FA will also be present to promote Respect, The FA's national programme to tackle unacceptable behaviour in football. Both teams will warm up in Respect t-shirts and walk onto the pitch accompanied by Respect flags. At half-time, a number of local football teams will take centre stage, participating in the grassroots parade.
samjohnson Posted 30 January 2010 Posted 30 January 2010 If the FA say that the Respect fixture was a complete succes... I will laugh my head down to Soho and give 'em what for
Matt Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 I give it 30 seconds after the KO when my respect for the referee/linesman gets thrown out the window. I'll correct myself, It lasted roughly 15 minutes I think. #yoiur a twat Isn't it time to show some respect?
Guest DavidJCW Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 The respect game was a success? I don't think I've heard the ref get that much abuse in a while... But anyway, I doubt much will change just cause the FA decides to start a campaign.
leftsideoverhere Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 Only question I've got about this is 'how did the 'respect the ref? you're havin' a laff' chant come across on the live TV? I thought it was possibly the loudest I've ever heard the Walkers, and I'm sure there were one or two people in the West Stand joining in too. That normally only happens when Mark Selby shows off some silverware.
