STOKE City striker Ricardo Fuller has been arrested by police in connection with an incident at a Hanley nightclub.

The 30-year-old, who had played for Stoke on Saturday, has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Officers had been called to the JFK nightclub, in Trinity Street, at 1am on Sunday.

Fuller has since been bailed by police pending further inquiries.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "At 1am on Sunday an incident occurred at JFK nightclub in Trinity Street, following which a 30-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been bailed, pending further inquiries."

Witnesses are urged to call police on 0300 1234455.

Stoke City today declined to comment on the arrest.

I really dislike Fuller. I really dislike Stoke, they don't even play football, they play on the long throw thing.

Yet they are almost in the top half of arguably the best league in the world. They must be doing something right and I would swap places with them in a heartbeat.

Nice bit of sense.

There were quite a few sporting arrests today. Fuller, Gazza and those Catalan rugby players. Also, 3 Blackpool players got caught going out on Saturday night after the game so Ollie has banned them!

Didn't say they were doing anything wrong.

You'd take us being there and playing exactly the way they do wouldn't you?

I'd still go, but I wouldn't be proud of my team. We wouldn't even do it right like Stoke do anyway, we have been hoofing the ball upto no one for 4 years in the Championship so I doubt we'll be able to master the art of a throw in.
