StanSP Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 What's the most exotic or extravagant food you've had? Last month I tried some finely-cooked rabbit at Benares, an up-market Indian restaurant (recommend it) in London. Bit cautious at trying it, but nevertheless it actually tasted quite nice, especially with the spices and cream sauce. Tasted a bit like chicken, but was still really nice.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 You haven't lived till you've had swordfish. Tried goat in Turkey once as well.
dimmerchant Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 Everything tastes 'a bit like chicken'. Toast.

Guest Bilo Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 Ostrich burgers are quite nice. Kangaroo burgers at Walkabout.
AmericanScott Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 Kangaroo burgers at Walkabout. Whoaaa must go there for my birthday!
BoneDog Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 Swordfish Kebab in Turkey (not wrapped in a Turkey breast or oat, I ate it in the country Turkey). Can't remember what it tasted like but I remember feeling like Tarzan when I ate it. As soon as I put my knife and fork down I ripped my Hawaii 5-0 shirt and shorts off and dived in the pool, re-surfaced, shook my hair like in an aftershave advert and did the Tarzan "Aaaargh-ar-ar-ar-Aaaarghhhhhh". I think it's safe to say that all ladies in the immediate vacinity were impressed
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Crocodile wasn't bad. Been told to go to this Restaurant when i'm in Zimbabwe that specialies in exotic games meets Giarffe, Buffiolo, Water hog, Rhino, some sort of warms, Ostrich, impala and more.
hairy Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Had croc, roo, buffalo, ostrich, frogs, locust and those grubs in the bottom of tequila before. Sheeps balls too but they were foul and left a taste in your mouth that would not go away for two days. I want to try a bit of fresh snake before I go but will probably have to go to China for that. The worst I have had is goats head in a Afganie in Melbourne just for the fact you are picking the meat off a skull.
Zingari Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Monkeys brain, in Rajasthan!!! was this a transplant ?
fox123 Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Shark and Swordfish in Cyprus and Horse in France.
Houdini Logic Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 I must have misread the title, I thought it said exotic - not ridiculous...
Monk Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Fugu fish in Japan, the one that if cut wrong is lethal. Kinda chickeny.
Sir Fynwy Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Rattle snake in Arizona, bit like fried chicken. Raw Whale meat in Japan, don't remember how it tasted, very drunk. I've never tried Fugu, just don't see the point.
Zingari Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Fugu fish in Japan, the one that if cut wrong is lethal. Kinda chickeny. if i was gonna risk death , i'd want more than a chickeny taste at the end of it Eating pussy is quite erotic so i'm told

Guest DavidJCW Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Whilst in Hong Kong, many different things... not all nice. One of the worst things I've had there though is pigs small intestines... HORRIBLE. You could still see the villi on the inside of the tube... it was chewy, a horrid flavour and in my opinion, not to be eaten!
lou Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 You haven't lived till you've had swordfish.Tried goat in Turkey once as well. Curried Goat is gorgeous and very common over here in West Indian cafes/restaurants. Love it!
