Koke Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 They had their Burkha's on.... (Sorry, just the thought of a mob of modestly attired muslim women attacking a pub tickled me). ...as you were. I would pay to see that
bluefox9er Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 The problem is that when the next 'terrorist' attack does happen then more people will blindly think like Bigtoe does. Instead of laying the blame at the door of the real perpetrators, Muslims will get the blame and the country will follow whatever direction our 'leaders' have decided we are going in. When it does happen, and it will*, I hope that the majority of people do realise who is really behind the atrocity. *reference to famous speech there, anyone know which one? It's about time the average Joe united and started hating the real ****ing enemy and not just Jonny Foreigner. Real power is people. but what if the perpetrators *are* muslims? Does that make everybody wrong? Muslims need to hold up their hands and actually say ' we have an extreme minority that is NOT representative of islam as a faith that is set on defaming the beliefs of ordinarily, peaceful harmonious muslims AND WE ARE GOING TO FIND OUT WHO THESE ****ERS ARE AND TUEN THEM OVER' instead of this ' no comment' bollocks that is always said. Moderate muslims and the society at large MUST strive to differentiate peaceful Muslims themselves from the scumbag extremists in order to move forward, but whilst they continue to drag their heels and not recognise this, joe schmoe will sign up for retarded groups like the EDL in their thousands.
bluefox9er Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 totally agree with u, apart from the last point which kinda makes u sound as bad as them! i dont see how the last point makes the poster out to be as bad as 'them'...
Tilley Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Ross-Kemp trying to make out he watches from a distance at THREE marches. Class.
leftsideoverhere Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 The market must be some sight today. Thursday afternoon I was told there were just four stallholders booked in. If that's stayed the case I wonder how often in 700 years the notionally "main day" market has looked so sparse even in the worst of weather. Walked through the market at 10.30 this morning. I counted five stalls open. Oddly, all being staffed by white skinhead blokes. I guess they were the only ones who felt safe round the corner from the four pubs designated for the EDL to 'refresh themselves' in.
Bugg Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 30 muslims tooled up have just very unsucsessfully tryed to attack the lamplighters. They have been chased down freeschool lane, the police seem to have regained control with 4 riot vans at the top of highcross street. How do you know they were Muslims? Because they were Asian? How very EDL of you...
leftsideoverhere Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Clashes break out between EDL and black and Asian people in Leicester < Previous 1 2 3 Next > Protesters during an English Defence League (EDL) demonstration in Leicester today Violent clashes have broken out between EDL supporters and members of the local black and Asian community. Large groups of supporters have become involved in skirmishes with youths in the area of Humberstone Road, Leicester. They ran away from the main protest site in Humberstone Gate East to a nearby main road where they confronted gangs of local youths. Sporadic fighting broke out between the two sides while riot police sought to maintain control. Kent Street, in Highfields, is currently cordoned off by police. Officers have formed a line to stop hundreds of people getting through the cordon. Riot police are also in Charles Street, where skirmishes were going on at about 4pm. That's not quite what happened. I was there. A small gang of EDLers broke through the police cordon at the St George's roundabout end of Humberstone Gate (i.e. the opposite end of the demo from where the UAF counter-protest was being held. They ran towards St George's retail park, and found themselves face to face with a couple of hundred local youth from St Matthews and off the Highfields. They turned tail and ran back towards the police line, and re-joined the demo. But the police probably over-reacted at this point and sent hundreds of riot cops into the retail park, and along Humberstone Road. But then there was some confusion and rumours spread amongst the youth on Humberstone Road at the bottom of Kent Road and at the top of Kent Road in Highfields. Both groups could see a small gaggle of police officers half way up Kent Road, together with some civilians. Both groups of locals thought that the group in the middle (or possibly the group at the far end - i.e. each other) were EDL, but the ones in the middle turned out to be media, legal observers and a few local youth who the police had refused to let go either up the hill or down it! Tensions got riled a bit at both ends of Kent Road, but the police finally calmed themselves and everyone else down and allowed a few people from each group to pass through the police lines and confirm that the people at the other end of the road weren't racists after all! In all, it was a storm in a teacup. Eight EDL have been arrested and charged with various public order and / or offensive weapon offenses. They include one person from Wigston, and others from Long Eaton, Derby, Gateshead, Lincolnshire, Wales, and even Holland. Yep, Holland. As for shop windows and suchlike I didn't see much damage, although I didn't go near Primark, so I can't confirm or refute that one. I heard the EDL stopped off in Market Harborough on the way home too, can anyone verify that?
Babylon Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 My brother just told me primark is on fire, probably just chinese whispers (racist!) It's gutted, the whole place went up... caused £57.80 worth of damage. It didn't get set on fire, 90% of the stupid twitter rumours aren't true.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Does anyone know if the inner ring road is fully open?
sdb Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 i dont see how the last point makes the poster out to be as bad as 'them'... the narrow mindedness of it i was talking about saying fook off to stoke and have a riot there? i find that quite offensive personally. it's ok to tarnish people who live in stoke with the same brush is it?!

Guest Bilo Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Up to 13 arrests now. It's not going to be pretty in Leicester tonight with the knuckle draggers infesting our city.

I agree. Guess what the poster was trying to infer is that Stoke has a bedrock of these types of nutters and we don't want them anywhere NEAR our city. I wouldn't wish this sort of bullshit demonstration on any City, not to mention the disruption it causes. But at the end of the day, credit is due to our City, it has shown that we do not welcome racist scumbags and more importantly, we are a city that embraces diversity and celebrates it. Imagine the nightmare if these EDL ****ers wanted to plan this demo to clash with the opening of the Diwali lights on belgrave road? ( the fact that Diwali is a hindu celebration and not an islamic one would be of no relevance to those fooking dinosaurs)

lcfc_jme Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 And for every EDL member being a cvnt, the opposition seems hell-bent on matching it. Funny that any white male is deemed to be an EDL member, no matter if they're kids or have spent the entire day out of the city. Luckily my brother's home alright now, but he could so easily have been beaten up, mugged and hospitalised by the gang of 20-odd Asian kids who saw fit to chase him and 4 of his friends whilst they were making their way home from the train station having spent the day watching Burton Albion. Fvcking wankers. The EDL seem to have rightly garnered their reputation by acting like muppets everywhere they've held demonstrations, but for me the other side is just as rife with the same lowlife vermin amongst their ranks. Heaven only knows what I'd have done if I'd got hold of any of them when I was going to pick him up from the station or he'd have been harmed, the red mist had completely descended. I fvcking hate people. I really do.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Just in from the afternoon's "entertainment". EDL playing "Are You Smarter than a Three Year Old?" Proved conclusively they're not. Bit of a minor to do to start with between UAF/EDL. Then Old Bill ringed Humberstone Gate so no one could get near. I saw the EDL breakaway group confront locals (I'm guessing they were locals) on St. George's Way. Some punches thrown and I saw a bit of glass on the road later on. The breakaway group ran towards the retail park (faulty radio being returned to Currys?) and were chased by a largish group. OB moved quickly and pushed them into Kent Road, where they were kettled until after the EDL had been put on their coaches and sent home to Mummy. A largish Somalian contingent were on Humberstone Road while OB closed down Humbersone Road, but mainly just observing (like me). Another EDL group were being held by the hotel in that god awful blue building down from the station after the coaches had left. I managed to get close to the coaches as EDL were getting back on. A more abject bunch of wankers I couldn't imagine. A pretty young group with a number of old lag Corporals (the ex-football hoolies doubtless). I gave them a middle digit send off, and after that I'm pretty sure they'll disband and see the error of their ways. I did see a crowd rush into Primark and I think Haymarket was then closed. Not sure about any damage caused there. I circled the area one more time and then left for home at 5pm ish so not sure what happened after that. My overwhelming feelings after this however, are those of sadness. Having 1300 or so OB forced to throw a "ring of steel" around no more than 600 knobs at a cost of £1 million is ludicrous. Jesus we could buy a whole new back four with that money. The longer term impact on the city and its communities is an unknown, the short term impact is very, very negative. NB: I was on my bike and was able to scout the area pretty quickly.

lcfc_jme Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Oh, and further to that, after complaining about what had happened to the police, they were told that "it was probably because they were wearing jeans and trainers". Now I know the kinda people I'm allowed to go out, intimidate and chase, then. Cheers.
Stoneygate fox Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Not sure if they were there after but 300 edl scum were on Market harborough.I heard 4 riot vans fly past me down London road..

Can fully understand the red mist that descended over you, though - if that had happened to anyone I knew I'd have lost it too.

Guest Mee-9 Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Primark, M & S and JJB all got the windows smashed. My mate says the mosque they tried to attack got fireworks thrown at it, in an attempt to burn it down.

Guest Mee-9 Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Were the smashed windows EDL or locals? EDL I think, thats what he said anyway. I agree with what jme said.I know im going abit off topic, but a few of my close family members work in the Hospitals around Leicester, and they've been called names like, "White scum, White Trash" and have been accused of being racist if they cannot fulfill a Indian/Black persons needs. The world need to open its eyes. As does the media, you get all this crap about Racism being aimed at black people all the time, but I think more racism is directed towards white people.
