''All are male, aged between 30 and 42-years-old and none of them are from the Leicester area.''

I can't wait until the next time some middle aged git tries to tell me how bad the youth of today are

Sounded like not alot happened, really.

Nah, not much in the way of confrontation.

A couple of EDL apparently tried to get into the UAF protest and there was a brief run up to the police line, but that was about it.

It was more of a carnival atmosphere on the UAF side strangely enough, with bands playing more or less throughout.

One thing I will say is that the EDL are among the most vile pond life ever seen though when I was walking home, singing racist songs all the way and generally acting the cunt. Good riddance to them.

My mate just rang me, said he was walking through town near the train station. Could hardly hear him for sirens. Sounds a bit mad, said a load of marked cars were all speeding past towards the train station.

Clashes break out between EDL and black and Asian people in Leicester

< Previous 1 2 3 Next >

Protesters during an English Defence League (EDL) demonstration in Leicester today

Violent clashes have broken out between EDL supporters and members of the local black and Asian community.

Large groups of supporters have become involved in skirmishes with youths in the area of Humberstone Road, Leicester.

They ran away from the main protest site in Humberstone Gate East to a nearby main road where they confronted gangs of local youths.

Sporadic fighting broke out between the two sides while riot police sought to maintain control.

Kent Street, in Highfields, is currently cordoned off by police.

Officers have formed a line to stop hundreds of people getting through the cordon.

Riot police are also in Charles Street, where skirmishes were going on at about 4pm.

That they've come into existence at all only reflects the deceiptful disaster that Labour has been for this land.

Indeed that there are still native English people blinkered enough to continue supporting a government that has continually kicked them in both balls is both bewildering and totally beyond my comprehension.

Labour doesn't serve the nation - it simply sinks as low as necessary to further its its own ends and misguided ideology, whether through blatant lies, calculated deception, the tutored stonewalling as now reportedly taught by Mandelson, the hypocritcal class warfare when it suits the moment and any other underhand tactic, whether it sticks two fingers up at the concept of democracy or not.

Labour operates like so many slimy, slippery leeches, sucking the life out of everything and every principal that honest, decent, hardworking English people consider worthwhile.

Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives and still more have lost their limbs in the name of Labour and Tony Blair's shameless dishonesty. But the squirming, the excuse-making, the lack of frankness and the bullshit won't stop.

And as if that's not enough to put him and his accomplices in the courts to defend their effectively life-taking and life-shattering actions there's more....much more.

Bottom line: this Labour administration is so disreputable it is beyond rational defence except by the blinkered.

Little wonder that opponents in their desperation have formed new parties or decided to give their support to parties they wouldn't normally support but who they believe will stand their corner.

Labour should have voluntarily fallen on their sword by now but they won't cos they have no honour. And, even should they eventually be defeated in the next election, there are signs that the traitors to Britain within its odious ranks will seek to provoke industrial unrest in an effort to discredit any new government - certainly a conservative one - and to make the nation ungovernable.

To think that members of my extended family have supported Labour in the past and that some might even remain tainted by continued association with such dishonourable lowlifes as litter today's party, is not easy to live with.

I could easily defend a vote for extreme alternatives though it's not what the nation needs. However I cannot think that any party could be worse than more of this lot.

I duuno...just cut the winter fuel allowance for the wrinklies and only allow people above a certain income bracket to be entitled to have a family. Tories all the way :-)

Edit; Can't be arsed.

lol With this attitude you'd make the perfect mod. The 'can't be arsed' philosophy is one I adopt on a regular basis myself.:P

30 muslims tooled up have just very unsucsessfully tryed to attack the lamplighters. They have been chased down freeschool lane, the police seem to have regained control with 4 riot vans at the top of highcross street.

It's difficult to tell if a random bloke is Muslim just by looking at him.

How do you know they were muslims?

They had their Burkha's on....

(Sorry, just the thought of a mob of modestly attired muslim women attacking a pub tickled me).

...as you were.
