Scow Posted 10 March 2010 Posted 10 March 2010 Hi all, The dissertation I'm doing focuses on the future of local newspapers. I would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to answer the following survey. (You can still answer the survey even if you don't read a local newspaper) http://www.kwiksurveys.com/online-survey.php?surveyID=KKOMGM_f71e8043 Thanks very much.
MPH Posted 10 March 2010 Posted 10 March 2010 Done. But just out of intrest, was it really a newspaper survey or just one to check our awareness/ reading skills? question 1 stated to either go to question 3 or question 4.... so i skipped question 2....
FoxyPV Posted 10 March 2010 Posted 10 March 2010 Done. just being pernickity - the question should read what is your sex not what is your gender. (gender is socially defined whereas sex is a biological fact) Sorry for being a dick but it's just something that gets me every time i see it
Scow Posted 10 March 2010 Author Posted 10 March 2010 Thanks to everyone so far that's taken time to answer the survey - it really is much appreciated. Done. But just out of intrest, was it really a newspaper survey or just one to check our awareness/ reading skills? question 1 stated to either go to question 3 or question 4.... so i skipped question 2.... The future of the local newspaper industry is looking bleak according to all the research I've undertaken so far. This survey is a way of establishing the current relationship between readers and their newspapers to either prove or disprove the generally pessimistic outlook on the local press. Question 2 was to be answered if your local newspaper was a weekly publication; Question 1 was for daily publications - this was stated in brackets in Question 1. Done. just being pernickity - the question should read what is your sex not what is your gender. You're the first person to pick that up - I have changed it accordingly. Thanks.

Daggers Posted 11 March 2010 Posted 11 March 2010 Without local papers who is going to review the Golden Temple curry house or the Red Lion's pubgrub fayre? Who is going to sponsor the crap one-syllable local band who can't sing in tune? And, most importantly, who is going to provide all of the essential Golden Wedding celebration coverage? No one, that's who. I'm going to write a letter of complaint to my local paper.
Scow Posted 15 March 2010 Author Posted 15 March 2010 Last call for further responses - I'm closing the survey tomorrow. Thanks.
