DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 The Irish celebrate Paddys day by getting pissed and having a good time. We English stick a few tacky flags out our windows and car windows and have a good moan about the state of the country. Sucks being English. "Sucks to be English"? What a pathetic Wally.
Alexikokopops Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 St Paddy wasn't Irish either but who cares.. its a day to proud to be English It's not that St George wasn't English, he has absolutely no connection with England, which is what I find odd. St Patrick was taken to Ireland at an early age for slavery and went back there to act as a Bishop. I also seem to remember that he drove some snakes out, but I could just be getting confused with Barry White in the Simpsons.
Finnegan Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 "Sucks to be English"? What a pathetic Wally. Wow. What a convincing argument. You just filled him with insurmountable degrees of patriotism.
Fosse Boy Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 I would celebrate it but apparently I'm the wrong nationality. Plus, I think it's a pre-requisite to pronounce the word "England" with three syllables if you want to celebrate St. George's Day. P.S. Happy Brithday/Deathday Shakespeare.
Sir Fynwy Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 to be fair, Carl's Welsh, was he ever going to be a fan of St George? I'm only a bit Welsh, I'd feel more English if they had a better flag and patron saint
Finnegan Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 I'm only a bit Welsh, I'd feel more English if they had a better flag and patron saint I'm disappointed in you.
Matt Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 I'd celebrate it more but scared i'll be branded a racist, say something wrong or upset someone We're still waiting for this bank holiday ain't we
Webbo Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 There's enough bank holidays around this time of year. We should have 1 in October ,around half term time.
Daggers Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 I'm contracted on an annual amount of hours - if some twat dolls out a Bank Holiday for St.Gaylord of Palestine, patron saint of a dozen lazy countries then I lose a day from my bloody summer. Fuck that.
Sir Fynwy Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 There's enough bank holidays around this time of year. We should have 1 in October ,around half term time. It should be 20th November for the real Patron Saint of England, a better time for a day off.
Sir Fynwy Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 I'm disappointed in you. Having 2 English parents and being born in a border town makes my Welshness fairly tenuous.
Big Al Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 MY ENGLAND Little gray old market towns, Devon lanes and Sussex downs, Cornish beaches, Lakeland scenes, Timbered inns and Hampshire's trees, Take the world but leave me these. Yorkshire heather, Kentish clay, Surrey's bluebell woods in may. The England that young and brave have fought to keep and died to save. HAPPY ST. GEORGES DAY!!! I am proud to be english and any one of the ppl who say its rasist to celebrate this day can F U C K OFF FOREVER ENGLAND

Joe. Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Gave those proud BNP representatives an excuse to flaunt their bullshit in town today anyway...
Samilktray Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Went for a St Georges drink and my pub had ran out of free hats. Fuck you England.
Daggers Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Gave those proud BNP representatives an excuse to flaunt their bullshit in town today anyway... Their policy launch has to be one of the most laughable pantomime events I've seen outside of Xmas. Twat dressed up as a knight took Prize Cock award.

Fosse Boy Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Actually ended up drinking yesterday, though not really to celebrate anything. Some lads next to us actually were celebrating St. George's Day though... by drinking Budweiser and red wine. Patriots all.
stez Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 i celebrated by waking up, going to work, coming home, painting the kitchen then going to bed. lovely.

marbelladave Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Our local pub put on a special 'do' to celebrate St Georges day. Among other delights was a £10 all you can eat curry buffet, washed down with plenty of Fullers ale. Proceeds go to 'Help the Heros', very decent turnout so hopefully a fair bit of cash was raised. :appl:
