Edmund Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 Today's Telegraph summed up the penalty in one word - ludicrous. That's coming from a neutral journalist and is totally spot on. How people can say it was anything other well I'm speechless.... But like others have said these things happen in football, let's move on and not dwell on it. Dylan Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 It was an absolute stupid decision, but these things happen. If it worked we'd all be praising him for having the guts. At the end of the day, he missed a penalty cause he got too clever but could've missed it any other way. Hopefully he learns from this now. Im hoping he's successful at City next year redeeming himself. He still plays for City, and needs our support at the moment. He knows he's fooked up big time, and he'll be thinking about it all summer. Our luck just weren't there yesterday.
Jodranadinho Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 I feel that all the criticism coming in for Kermo at the minute is a little bit harsh. Yes, it was a stupid thing to do in a crucial game, yet everyone makes mistakes as footballers and unluckily for him his was last night. He needs to forget about it now and just knuckle down in pre-season (thats if hes still with us) and hopefully score a few more next season. whitlock Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 NP has seen something in him to offer him a contract and i think that we have seen glimpses of what he can do, few assist, won some great headers, good goal against M'boro and i cant quite see NP just giving up on him for that penalty. Not defending the penalty, it was shocking, looking over few youtube clips, he was trying to re create the same pens he did for his previous club, the "chip" fortunatly for him they came off back then but unfortunatly it didnt yesterday. I'm not defending the penner, shouldnt of done that but i guess none of us knows what it was like to be in that position yesteday, or how players feel comfortable taking peno's. I'll still be backing Kermit as every player that graces the Leicester shirt. Said to my unc, this season was never going to be Yann's season but next season will be and i still firmly believe that, maybe even more so as he will feel he has a point to prove
okie fox Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 Yes, but that's in a no pressure environment. The thing with penalties is that they are always good if they go in. Whittingham hit his pen (during normal time) straight down the middle, if Weale stood still he would have kept it out and there would have been cries of "What a crap penalty". You could say Waghorn's was much better as it was in the corner, yet Whittinham scored and Waghorn missed. Penalty's are a lottery - end of. My other examples have so many combinations? Picking up 3 darts and throwing them in the treble 20's is much more of a closed scenario than taking a penalty. It is an indoor 'sport' for one, and you're not up against anyone else, it's you and the board at that moment in time. The big difference is that Whittingham saw Weale moving to one side before he kicked it and so knew that he could put it down the middle!
flanimal Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 Wasn't as bad as Totti. Now this is a shit penalty kick.
the buckwheat Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 And that's the naivety, arrogance and over-confidence about it which we despise. When I played football, I had the arrogance and the over-confidence that everytime I shot on the right, I scored penalty @flanimal for Totti' video

flanimal Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 When I played football, I had the arrogance and the over-confidence that everytime I shot on the right, I scored penalty @flanimal for Totti' video No problem. At least Kermorgant got the goalkeeper to do a save. Here's a good penalty from Pires. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgPSY4aoGxI This is slightly Kermorgant-like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GsWShJfxYw&feature=related I'm actually searching YouTube for crap penalties in an attempt to prove to myself that Kermorgant is not a moron... this is a low point. fatmando Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 Stupid thing to do. Yann was an absolute tw@t for attempting it. I'm still totally gutted. My 4 year old could've saved it! He owes this club big time. He better make up for this fook up next season. If he hasn't looked like doing so by the January window then I say we get him out. Sometimes it just doesn't work out for a player and a club and maybe Yann is one of them. I'd give him one more chance, if nothing happens then I'd call it a day. Yann if you read this - you owe! You owe us BIG!

flanimal Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 Let's no leave out Berbatov's classic in a virtually identical scenario versus Everton. At least Kermorgant didn't cost Leicester £37m!
Unit Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 Time to leave it before you lot make him kill himself. Yes he fooked up, as some ex middlesborough player who missed a pen in playoffs said on radio 5 today "NEXT YEAR, WE'LL GO UP PROPERLY" And yann, if you're reading this, listen:
footyfox86 Posted 13 May 2010 Share Posted 13 May 2010 Did anybody notice that the Cardiff keeper was well off his line before Kermorgant kicks the ball...refs had a phase of pulling this up but don't seem to any more have the rules changed? www.postimage.org/image.php?v=aVK8bNA
