lou Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 QPR was the best by miles and Preston for obvious reasons! Leeds and QPR others depend on what time of the season they come up How anyone can look forward to that awful journey to Norwich and Ipswich is beyond me plus they're 2 of the most expensive usually. Prob wont bother with either. Intend on going to every other away game though
Corky Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 We'd better win at Portman Road. Been several times since 2001 and the one I missed was the game we won
Bugg Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Best away day Pre-Season Friendly at Shrewsbury especially singing to the home fans after the 4th goal went in "GIVE THEM THERE MONEY BACK" Looking forward to Leeds. The Shrewsbury friendly was quality.
lou Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 The Shrewsbury friendly was quality. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sods Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Nothing got close to Cardiff on Wednesday that was unreal, still had good laughs with nights out in Newcastle and Plymouth. Pompey will be decent I reckon in the right weather, Im not going Norwich again unless its important, probably one of the worst aways i have been to, hopefully Swindon get promoted as the nearest ground from mine is about an hour away!
potter3 Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 The play off game, even with the horrible ending was probably my favourite, along with Bristol and Palace of course. I don't see how Palace could ever fail to be a quality day out. Looking forward to Bristol and Palace again . Pompey as well I guess
Scow Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Blackpool was without doubt my best away day. Bit of a trek on the train (5 hours there, 4 hours back) but beer kept me going. Loved the temporary stand. Palace and Posh were also very good too. Looking forward to the London away days next season. Hopefully have QPR, Palace and Millwall/Charlton. Then you've got the likes of Forest, Derby, Sheffield United and Scunneh... oh yes.
Ozwin Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Gonna hopefully make a few more away trips next season so this topic interests me. I don't trust myself to make my way there though, so FoxTravel has always been my guide. Sadly it completely lessens the whole experience. I'll deffo be training it from now on. I've got Palace, potential Blackpool or Cardiff and Leeds earmarked for next season already.
MC Prussian Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Envy of those who could make it to Cardiff for the playoff 2nd leg match. I couldn't go to a lot of away games, but I saw us play at Vicarage Road and the Watford match still has something special to it. The rollercoaster ride with us being 2-0 up, 2-3 down and then N'Guessan's header to make it 3-3 late in the game. Classic. The away day I'm most looking forward to next season - provided the schedule's right - would be the one newly-promoted one from League One. Either that or Leeds.
Floating Fox Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Pompey, looking forward to that big time! Hopefully get them while i'm based there! Norwich is awfull, not doing that, probably skip on Leeds to, didnt enjoy that really.
Fosse Boy Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Also hoping for somehwere with a terrace in the first round of the League Cup.
calum_lcfc Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Preston was best away day for me Next year looking foward to Leeds and hopefully Millwall
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 17 May 2010 Author Posted 17 May 2010 Don't worry he also said he can't wait for Hull as it's massive. This season: Posh. I have to say that because of my awayday curse. Next season: too many to chose from: Really love it if this year we beat forest away, leeds, hopefully millwall etc etc (the dickheads.) Ha! you make me laugh, PLEASE find the quote in which I said Hull will be 'massive'. I think you'll find I said i'd like a decent away day to start the season, not necessarily one of the best but a decent one which we can win to set the tone. So cut out the bull.
Wycombe Fox Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Portsmouth at Fratton Park only this time I'll talk my own brick batts with me...b*stards!
syston_fox Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Pompey is the only new ground for me this season so looking forward to that one most. Cardiff was probably the best away this season although I did enjoy Macclesfield in the cup a lot - reminded me of last season.
Ozwin Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Completely forgot about Pompey, will definately try and get to that one.
Wycombe Fox Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Nothing can prepare you for Fratton Park, not even nuclear war. Every time I see one of those wagons that empty the portaloo's at festivals, I think of Fratton Park.
SirBlueFoxington Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 Sheff Utd and Watford were both good away days this year. Hoping that swindon go up so i can go there, and also would like to go Norwich.
TrueBlueLuke Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 Mine Was Cardiff/Preston/Peterborough the atmosphere after the preston game was brilliant !
samlcfc Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 Didnt get too many away games this season which was dissapointing. Only work till 12 on saturdays now though so should be able to hit up a lot more next season.
gazmanthegun Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Im hoping to get to a few away games next season. Been to Cov, Forest and Sunderland before but always with family. Whats the situation with coaches, i.e where do they travel from and what's the sort of cost? I live in Melton, is there a bus from there or do they go from the city? cheers
Guest Bilo Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Also hoping for somehwere with a terrace in the first round of the League Cup. Would be nice but Lincoln away would be magic, especially now that Grimsby isn't a possibility. Failing that, a return to Posh.

Whats the situation with coaches, i.e where do they travel from and what's the sort of cost? I live in Melton, is there a bus from there or do they go from the city? cheers Ive used them a few times in the past. They go from the ground and the cost depends on the distance really. Never been a huge amount though. Seen people be dropped off places other than the ground on the way back, suppose it depends on what direction the coach is coming from.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 May 2010 Posted 20 May 2010 I cant really split Blackpool and Posh. At Blackpool we played so well, and there was just a great feeling around that day. It had some exciting moments too, a flre, a dive in the last minute and truly great keeping. Posh because the atmosphere was brilliant and after last seasons defeat I was just so pleased we beat them. This season I'm looking forward to Norwich most, a weekend down there would be nice.
