Ilkeston_Fox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 [/img] The colours aren't as pronounced as I thought but it still looks great, and the flag weighs about as much as a bag of feathers. It has folds at both ends so can also be a 2 pole banner (maybe the better option?) It will definately be in attendance for Sunderland

Ilkeston_Fox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 I love it! get a pole for it, then post a picture of you waving it i wanna see how big it will be waving Will have to wait till tomorrow or the weekend for that but I will do. Those poles we bought might even be strong enough for it, it's stupidly lightweight.
Floating Fox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 WE LARVE IT LARVE IT LARVE IT!!! 1 pole will do the trick as well....me and liam picked up some large flag wavings skills in Austria!

moseeds Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Absolutely superb documentary on BBC Radio 2 about football chants on now "Sing when you're winning" : http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_radio_two
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 [/img] I actually can't wait to see this for myself. This sets a pretty good standard. Can't wait to see more like it rolling out over the next few weeks!
easilee Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 I was talking to a musician friend of mine who happens to be from Mauritius. We got talking and ended up on the subject of Mauritian Reggae known as Sega or Seggae. He talked about the founder of this music style, KAYA, and how riots ensued after he was shot dead by police for openly smoking a spliff. I checked some of this Sega music out and let me tell ya, it's like Chant Heaven and not many fans would have heard these tunes in England. A couple of examples here but try not to think about the beats too much. they sound off, which they are, but there is a basic steady beat to it. Also, most of it is in Creole but you would rewrite the lyrics anyway. What struck me was the main melodies of a lot of tunes. Check some out if you have spare time.
Smerklo Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Looking forward to the Walkers being like that! But seriously, good luck with this! I've always wished English games had a bit more of a European feel to them with the flags etc, so fingers crossed this all works out! I'm sure if some of the smaller teams can do it then we can!

Ozwin Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 Gonna get my Walshy celebrating flag sorted over the next few days. Just hoping it turns out alright and reads well, don't want it looking like a big blob from far away. Something nice and simple like this I reckon: Constructive criticism always welcome.
lcfc_jme Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 Not really posted anything about this, but meh, what the hell. Would love to see this take off and be a sustainable, growing project because on the surface it's a great idea and just what everyone needs. My only worry is that people will either bottle it through fear of ridicule whilst it's still small, or that when people get ejected and banned (which, not wanting to put a downer on anything, but they will do whilst Kevin The Hypocrite Cu Nt is at the helm of the club's security, will happen) others will rapidly lose interest and it'll die out and go back to how it was for Swansea at home in the FA Cup last season. Evidently I wish everyone involved all the best and I want everything to work out for those who have put the amount of effort in that they have done. 'Mon the Boys!
AndyBrew Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 I can't see why anybody should get ejected or banned?? I believe there are at least a couple of families getting involved in this which I think will help appease the powers that be, obviously if people start letting off flares etc. then I can see that will be the instant end of it, I think to keep this thing going at the Walkers it needs to be given a chance to get some momentum which means applying a degree of self control

Best of luck I hope you succeed but the experience of N block sows big seeds of doubt in my mind.

Just ask the lads on here who were involved in setting up the N Block singing section.

I agree with what you say which is why we must do it properly and follow the clubs rules. We must show them we are a non confrontational group who are there to support our club very vocally and with passion. We need to get them on our side and then as the numbers grow and they begin to trust us we will get away with more. We have to remember they are just doing their job to ensure the safety of all the fans in the ground so if we don't do anything that flouts their rules they won't be able to stop us. They can't throw us out or ban us for being loud and passionate.(some stewards may try but at the end of the day they have rules of behavour as well and I would be happy to make a formal complaintagainst them if they are out of order). I may sound old and boring but it's the only way we will do it, experience tells me you get away with more if you get on with those who have the power. Ok serious rant over come on Fosse Boys we CAN do it
