That tifo flag and banner both look absolutely amazing.

If Barclay has been looking on this thread to get an idea of what we're about, and sees the sheer amount of effort that's gone into this, he'll be bright enough to realise that we aren't going to fvck it up by getting into a scrap with other fans. I think we've made it pretty clear that we're all about support and making the Walkers a genuinely atmospheric place to watch football, if played right it could even be a selling point for the club to bring in more fans.

This MUST be allowed.

Correct. :)

That's ok then. But just be aware it's not just the club itself that's likely to make things difficult for you guys. Although I'm sure you don't need telling, you've seen what our fans can be like at times!!

Just read through the WHOLE thread...took me about 4 hours but was well worth it.

Great idea here guys and I really hope it comes off for all your hard work!

Loving all the banners and t-shirts etc. they look ace

The club should really consider it, it should attract more fans and therefore revenue if we have a better atmosphere at the walkers :D

I'm in town tommorow, was wondering if anyone knew a cheapish place to buy some material for my two stick? I might be wrong but didn't someone mention the market a while back? How much did it cost?

Great stuff guys. Can only imagine what pre-game/games will be like in 5+ years with experience etc, more flags, chants, bigger numbers.

Cant wait to join you guys in October.

Got our meeting with the club tomorrow morning. Just hoping they see sense!

Who ever is going, good luck with it! Just keep reminding them that all we want to do is support LCFC in a different way. None of that hooliganism shite that is usually associated with the word 'Ultras'.

If they say no, kick the fook out of them

Then why use the word Ultras? It's synonymous with Italian troubles.

It's like opening up The Gary Glitter Afterschool Childcare Centre.

Not knocking your ambition but the choice of term is flawed.

Only for those uneducated about the scene.

Ultras

Your answer is in the first line.

Good luck with the meeting.

Only for those uneducated about the scene.

Unfortunately for you that would therefore encompass everybody running the game.

The entire reason the singing section was blown out was down to the fears that idiocy may abound in such an area. It came as no surprise to the club when incidents were then caught on camera. For all of the protestations of a certain individual to the contrary, he knows what he was shown doing on a screen and this is why there will be a very luke-warm reception to an Ultras group existing in the stadium.

Had you chosen a different nomenclature then you'd have given yourselves a slight advantage, this much is fact.

Did you read slightly further down the page?
Hooliganism

However, there does appear to be a crossover in some countries between ultras and hooligans. In Italy, when English club Middlesbrough F.C. played a match against AS Roma in March 2006, three Middlesbrough fans were stabbed in an attack that was blamed on Roma-supporting ultras.[3] Roma-supporting ultras were also blamed for an incident related to the club's match against English club Manchester United in Rome in April 2007, which resulted in 11 Manchester fans and two Italian fans being taken to hospital.[4] These specific incidents may be attributed to an anti-English mindset amongst some Roma fans that dates back to the 1984 European Cup final. Spanish authorities have been concerned about ultra-related violence against supporters of other clubs, such as the murder of a Real Sociedad fan.

And this fails to cover the plethora of incidents from Italy to Argentina, Spain to Colombia.

The inference that someone is 'ignorant' because they link the word 'Ultras' with violence is spectacularly laughable. There is a direct correlation abroad. This doesn't mean that any of you are after causing trouble, it does mean that the wrong collective term has been chosen due to its links.

You can chose to reject that standpoint if you wish but the failure to acknowledge it will jeopardise your requests. You need to counter it, not deny it.

Yes I did.

Surely if this group was intent on violence/hooliganism they would try to stay under the police radar? i'm mean they're hardly going to be inconspicuous marching together to the ground, carrying large flags, singing, chanting etc.

Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that there's a likelihood of people at the club who will express reservations because of the Ultra tag.

Care to explain how you're so 'knowledgeable' of the incident?

Haha

What will happen to all the money been spent on this if it get's turned down?

Surely anyone with an ounce of grey matter would have gone about the process the other way round. Get permission first then make 60ft flags - at quite a cost I'd imagine..

Which Sugar daddy is funding all this? if people have bought flags then will they get their money back if the club don't allow it?
