Surely anyone with an ounce of grey matter would have gone about the process the other way round. Get permission first then make 60ft flags - at quite a cost I'd imagine..

Don't talk sense in here, not sure it is allowed.

Massive waste of cash when the club say no.

Haha

What will happen to all the money been spent on this if it get's turned down?

Which Sugar daddy is funding all this? if people have bought flags then will they get their money back if the club don't allow it?

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't though a similar thing. I'd imagine though that people will use them to put around the ground/away grounds on empty seats rather than waving them about. Maybe. I'm not sure.

I take it Fosse Boys will not be present at Away games?

Surely they would have to apply at every single away ground to see if they could take poles with flags on inside the ground?

I'm no flask brigade, I like a sing song etc but I wouldn't be bowled over if I was watching a game and got a 3m x 3m flag in front of me the whole game so I couldn't actually watch the game!

On a serious note - if this gets approved then you should try and sell some of the merchandise in the club shop, may stir some more interest instead of just 50 people. Maybe Arab could stencil out some Fosse Boys hot pants to get the opposite sex involved? Just an idea.

I think the plan is to be at the back of the stadium in an emptier part of the ground so as to avoid blocking people's views with the flags. Then hopefully, with the club on side, they can work out the best place so the flags don't ruin other people's enjoyment of the game.

The organisers of this group must be be applauded for what they have done especially as they have had some flack off there fellow fans on this forum. I for one will be proudly holding my fosse boys flag high at the Sunderland match

Been granted permission to then?

No but I have a good knowledge of club and football league regulations and will be prepared to say I will have my flag and be confident I will

Not really sure it's for the cynics to judge whether people are "wasting their money" or not is it?

Regardless of the outcome of today's meeting (I'm at work so haven't had the full details yet) there will be a way round. This group is worth fighting for, it's giving up at the first hurdle that would be the biggest waste of time of all.

On use of the Ultras name, there's no point in disguising what we are. We've laid it on the line, we are not a happy clappy, lovey dovey singing section there for the entertainment of everyone who doesn't want to get involved. We are Ultras. We know what we have in mind for the group, we won't compromise on this, and if being so brash so early means we make it a bit harder for ourselves to succeed in our aims, then that's a price worth paying to maintain the integrity of the group in my eyes.

i'm guessing they don't care about the money.

as the saying goes: 'speculate to accumulate' - i'm sure the passion they have for this means that a few quid on a pole and some fabric is nothing compared to the enhanced enjoyment they will get if this gets the go ahead.

it's called putting your money where your mouth is, it will be seen to their credit that they are prepared to put in this kind of financial and monetary investment with no guarantee of return. maybe they won't get approval but at least they are doing everything than can to prove how much they want it, if they turn up at the club with just a big idea and nothing else the club will laugh them out of the door.

obviously, this kind of commitment to the team they support is a mystery to you two

Massive credit to the lads involved with this hope they get a decent result with the club and really get it going at the Sunderland game.

Any news on how the meeting went ?.

We will be releasing a statement, if you'd like to put it that way, in a couple of days. We are still on to meet at the counting house on saturday though.

Posted

Not as well as you'd all have hoped, going from that post then? :( I can only think if it was good news you'd have told us all now.

Posted

sounds like bad news  I hope that the club has taken into consideration the amount of effort been put in by the other lads with all the flags and banners before they made their decision. I look forward to reading this statement.

We are going to have a get together and see what we think is best to do from here. Club weren't great, but fair play to them for listening to us and things could have gone alot worse than they have. So we will still see you on saturday ! :scarf:

Can I take a guess? They didn't like the standing idea and flags? Please tell us some info!
