Lillehamring Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Precisely. Unfortunately some people simply won't be told. No. But he is a member of this forum and is well aware of what actually happened when he was called into the club to view his actions. regardless of what this guy did, the massive knee-jerk over-reaction to stop everyone typifies how awful this club is. the point is, that the club were looking for any excuse to scrap it, and inevitably they get their way.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Haha no idea why this 'statement' has been blown up so much!! I've been told that... they basically said no to flag poles we will find out about the drum when they email us but i wouldnt hold my breathe they said they dont know if people in the kop will like people singing and jumping with a drum sorry but they are in the KOP for a reason they want atmosphere they just dont want to contribute to it we will be getting in touch with the FSF asking what we should do next about flag poles because it baffles me to think why Palace, Middlesbrough, Ipswich, York, Oxford, Acrington Stanley and LIVERPOOL who have the biggest flags out the lot are all allowed them it really does confuse me and offend me, that the powers think that us as Leicester City fans aren't clever enough to wave a flag we are allowed to take our flags which will include our banner so we will still be all standing behind our group banner and going for it all game flags are a small part of what we will be doing noice levels and FUN are the main things! So everything will be the same for the sunderland game bring your flags if you want, just no poles we will still be bouncing and going for it non stop! The Fosse Boys wont end no matter what the club say we can still all move our season tickets to an empty part of the kop and go for it every game Bring on Saturday!!
davieG Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 It wasn't that long ago they gave out 5000 odd flags on sticks, admittedly small ones to young kiddies, quite capable of poking someone's eye out and bloody irritating being waved in front of you through out the game.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 It wasn't that long ago they gave out 5000 odd flags on sticks, admittedly small ones to young kiddies, quite capable of poking someone's eye out and bloody irritating being waved in front of you through out the game. Exactly, they gave them away before Burnley at home a few years ago, they just don't like these flags because it's not in their control.
Houdini Logic Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 May be a silly question but do the poles need to be plastic? Can they not be hard foam like the kiddies swords you get down Asda, or some type of rod made out of compressed air in thin plastic.
Ozwin Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 So what actually happened in the meeting? Did they actually listen to you or did they just knock everything you presented to them down immediately?
LCFC-ARAB Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 It was brought up about those flags Barclay said they have been banned ever since he also said that 2 flags were thrown from L1 too the s****hrope fans when we lifted the trophy i cant remember that happening?? and we trying to think of things that they will let us use as flag poles but i get the idea he will say no to everything we come up with
Vestan Pance Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Good work. No matter what the marketing department think, this IS the way to bring younger fans in, make the ground actually exciting to be at. Full respect to you for trying this.

I'm confused!
davieG Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 So yes to flags and banners? I'm confused! Yes to flags, no to poles. Are the slots for the poles big enough to get your hand/arm in. It might look a bit silly but a pair of you could stick one arm each in and hold them up.
Ozwin Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 he also said that 2 flags were thrown from L1 too the s****hrope fans when we lifted the trophyi cant remember that happening?? That's hardly an argument considering we'd be about 200 yards away from them.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 No to poles Yes to flags Maybe to drum NO TO STANDING People in L1 are in for a shock next season apparently..... they are going to start with the people at the back of the kop then when they are all sitting nicely in silence onto L1 Tell me about it Ozwin although apparently if you walk along the front of the kop after a game you will see hundreds of missiles thrown from the stand....
h1210 Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 No to poles Yes to flags Maybe to drum NO TO STANDING People in L1 are in for a shock next season apparently..... they are going to start with the people at the back of the kop then when they are all sitting nicely in silence onto L1 Tell me about it Ozwin although apparently if you walk along the front of the kop after a game you will see hundreds of missiles thrown from the stand.... What a fooking shit club we choose to be part of
Ozwin Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Tell me about it Ozwinalthough apparently if you walk along the front of the kop after a game you will see hundreds of missiles thrown from the stand.... What an absolute load of bollocks.
Bugg Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 The Club are being very naive if they think that they can get L1 to sit down...
JmorsonLCFC Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 No to standing up?! Please tell me why this could be a health and safety risk!
Houdini Logic Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 No to standing up?! Please tell me why this could be a health and safety risk! Because when everyone is sitting in their allocated seats not only do you know who they are but you can very easily see if someone is up to something dodgy, in comparison to people standing huddled in groups. Just answering the question - prefer standing to sitting
davieG Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 This is exactly why I never ever get my hopes up with anything to do with LCFC their aim in life seems to be to upset, and piss off the fans. I think it must be in their charter!
1964FOX Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Obviously would prefer to stand but I can still sing for 90 minutes very loudly whilst holding my flag up and sitting if necessary. Like the idea about the 'arm held' flag gives me an excuse to make another one.
SMX11 Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Good work. No matter what the marketing department think, this IS the way to bring younger fans in, make the ground actually exciting to be at. Full respect to you for trying this. completely agree. It's not as if the football gonna get everyone excited I am so frustrated with the ground currently about the lack of noise and atmosphere. I really don't see what the problem is for allocating an empty part of the ground to the Fosse Boys. If the nearby sections don't like the chanting and/or bouncing about then they should be banished to the west stand or they can stay at home and listen to Stringbox on the radio. Whenever I am in the "KOP" there is very little singing only a few groups of 10-20 at the back and it is nearly always empty in the corner of SK1. If the group were in that corner I would guess that a hell of a lot more people would join in from the surrounding areas. On the note of standing, it is the most annoying thing when you are told the sit down when you are clearly not blocking anyones view. I can remember the Leeds away trip in L1 and the stupid stewards wanted most of us to sit down. The only thing this does is piss off the fans which in turn will create more problems for the stewards. I don't have a great knowledge of the Health & Safety Regulation which states that we should remain seated but surely that will cover goal celebrations as well?? It will get to the stage where we have to wear seat belts and celebrate in the chairs
filbertway Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 To be fair, the club have to say no to standing, seeing as it's part of the regulations, still doesn't mean they won't turn a blind eye to it, if it appears to be successful and not causing problems. I hope you lads stick to it, it sounds like you're getting some opposition, but if other clubs fans can make it work, then I'm sure you can with persistance and hard work. Good luck anyway, it'll be interesting to see where you are in a year or two.

Like the idea about the 'arm held' flag gives me an excuse to make another one. By Christ, it's a revelation the like of which I thought I would never see. Here we have someone that rather than getting upset about what they're not allowed to do, is focussing on what is allowed and is determined to do their best whatever restrictions are placed upon them

Fosse Boy Posted 27 July 2010 Author Posted 27 July 2010 The point is though that what we're being told we can't do is illogical, and is practised in stadiums up and down the land week in week out. it's worth continuing to fight for the right to wave flags and stand up rather than just accepting the status quo as the be all and end all.
