Lillehamring Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 regarding the setback of not being allowed flagpoles... perhaps to make your presence felt visually, might it not be good to adopt the knotted-scarf-twirling - it's very common overhear and in europe and will make you stand out to both would be members and the club itself.
Lillehamring Posted 27 July 2010 Posted 27 July 2010 Thought about it, then I wondered where I would find out how many inches of snow has fallen in Norway every day come the winter. Also, you'd miss me after a week. http://www.yr.no/place/Norway/Oslo/Oslo/Blindern/detailed_statistics.html knock yourself out
Dan Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 health and safety is the reason this country is in such a mess, you cant itch your arse without someone behind you saying you have breached health and safety rules. if the whole kop stand up for 90 minutes like they do in away games theres nothing they can do Someone clearly doesn't go to away games then. Don't get me wrong I agree with you but I just had to pick that out, our standing has dropped to in my opinion an all time low.

Don't get me wrong I agree with you but I just had to pick that out, our standing has dropped to in my opinion an all time low. Not quite. It was at its all time low 5 or 6 seasons ago. Steadily rose to its highest in League One and although it was a disappointment in the main last season, no where near as bad as it can get.
purpleronnie Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Its a pity really, strange how some clubs have huge amount of standers especially away from home, and others have none, makes me wonder why this is? I honestly dont know what enjoyment people get from going to a lot of stadiums thesedays. High prices of tickets, cameras watching your every move, police and stewards on your back, your own fans moaning if you stand up, bland characterless all seater stadiums. However I do understand that some fans dont go to matches to enjoy the atmosphere and are quite content just to watch their team which is of course their prerogative. I dont know if that 'type' of fan is now in the majority but it makes me wonder why the rest who do want to create a great atmosphere still go? If these fans would be willing to boycott matches then I have no doubt clubs would pay more attention to them. Of course teams like Man utd, Arsenal etc...who have a big following and fill their stadiums every week probably could replace those who choose to boycott, I very much doubt our club could replace many. If our attendaces went down 4-5000 every home game I'm sure they would be more willing to listen and help fans. I doubt we could find that amount of fans who would be willing to stop going because of the lack of atmosphere, we would rather moan about it but still go (something that baffles me). And therein lies the problem not just with our fans but with the majority of fans in the UK. They aren't willing to DO anything about it. Why this is? I dont know, fans from other countries seem to be much more united and apathy isn't prevelant like it is in England. I applaud the 'Fosse Boys' who have put time, effort & money to get something started, we need more fans like you. I hope more will join you and over time you will grow I'm sure you will if you stick at it.

So you won't be going next year? Edit - Just noted your location. I guess the question still stands hypothetically...
purpleronnie Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 So you won't be going next year? Edit - Just noted your location. I guess the question still stands hypothetically... I stopped going in the mid 90's after they seated the Kop. Strange to think most would love to have those times back. Plus the cost of my ticket went up. You ask me whether I am going next year in a way that suggests you don't agree that boycotting is a valid option?

It's a valid option, though one I would never choose. High prices of tickets, cameras watching your every move, police and stewards on your back and your own fans moaning if you stand up brings not much more than a wry smile to me - certainly doesn't puch me over the edge enough to stop watching my team
Ozwin Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 So how exactly are you going to display your flags and stuff without poles? Gonna put them over seats or something?
davieG Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 So how exactly are you going to display your flags and stuff without poles? Gonna put them over seats or something? Use your arms - simple
andy_croydz Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Mass standing will never be allowed in an all seater stadium. To hope for the club to 'allow' people to stand is a bit too optimistic. I'm all for loud support and making the Walkers into a fortress but they won't even let you take your beer in a plastic cup up to your seat. So what hope is there that they will ever allow people to stand all game or bring massive flags waving on sticks into the stadium?

Standing and Flagpoles of some sort are achievable as it only takes a change of interpretation of the regulations imposed by Football Licencsing Authority on the Football League and yes that,s optomistic and not easy to achieve but can't be compared to bringing alcohol into the seating area as that is unlawful and would require a change in statute.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 So how exactly are you going to display your flags and stuff without poles? Gonna put them over seats or something? I wont be bringing any of the flags that i made to the game just our banner i'll wait till they let us have poles before i take them
Tommy G Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 I wont be bringing any of the flags that i made to the game just our banner i'll wait till they let us have poles before i take them Could be waiting a while then
andy_croydz Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Leicester already has quite a lot of Poles in it, i'm sure a few more won't be a problem. (That was intended as a joke, i'm not racist in any way before someone shoots me down)
Fosse Boy Posted 28 July 2010 Author Posted 28 July 2010 Could be waiting a while then Then so be it.
Dan Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Not quite. It was at its all time low 5 or 6 seasons ago. Steadily rose to its highest in League One and although it was a disappointment in the main last season, no where near as bad as it can get. Ah right, I'm only 17 so I would've been about 11/12 around that time and not only did I not attend nearly as many away games, I didn't really see standing as much of an issue, pretty naive of me really - I just assumed that due to the way football appears to be going, the old school style of standing etc... was dieing down more and more every year. I really don't know why it took such a massive decline last year either from League One.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 A couple of people have asked me where our song video went here's our new one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oJs6oGTLPM
Dan Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Isn't that the same as the last vid? Their some pretty decent songs in fairness, maybe a tad slower for a couple of them would sound better but great effort and I thoroughly hope you lot come through.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 yeah its the same we just changed the pictures they will be sung slower we were just a bit pished when we recorded them
Dan Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 yeah its the same we just changed the pictures they will be sung slower we were just a bit pished when we recorded them Good good, you got any more? I might try and suggest a few.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Yeah we have loads more we want to let people learn these songs first then we'll introduce a couple at a time hopefully we'll have a song book as big as Man Utd's by the end of this season!
Dan Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Superb to hear. Our club are such boring cvnts, I fvcking knew they'd turn it down.
1964FOX Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Using the picture of the fox is much better than the one of that shithole on the coast well done lads
