Domenech might as well claim asylum while he's in South Africa and have done with it. lol

France could well already be out no matter what happens. The cynic in me says that the fact that a draw would be mutually beneficial for Uruguay and Mexico makes that result the most likely outcome.

Even if that doesn't happen, France don't even look like scoring or caring enough to win a game to give themselves half a chance. No fight, no passion, no attacking prowess, no cohesion, no team spirit, no midfield organisation, no defensive strength, no hope. Not a single French player can hold his head high over the two games. Pathetic.

My prediction is that Uruguay and Mexico fight out a score draw and that the French get the same result against a South African side that's absolutely brimming with heart. First big name out methinks.

The Irish are gonna be fucking unbearable with their "Karma" bullshit now. :(

True :/, the thing is though it's not really karma. It would only be karma if France had been cheated out of it but they haven't, they've just been appalling.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! - Irish Independent

Seriously though, France were absolute dogshit once again and deserved nothing. They are a shambles under Domonenech, completely lacking ideas going forward and very poor to watch. I think Blanc will come in and change most of that eventually, he'll get it right.

Hopefully Uruguay and Mexico play out a draw and send them packing. Wouldn't it be nice to see South Africa have one last hurrah over them too...

If I was Irish I'd be more gutted than pleased watching this.

Knowing we were cheated out of a World Cup place by a team that went on to squander it by playing like a Conference side would piss me right off.

Both sides got exactly what they deserved out of that game, although I thought the penalty was a bit dodge. VIVA MEXICO!

That was defo a pen.

Are we taking too much away from Mexico's performance here in just deriding France? I thought they were quick, enthusiastic and clever as a unit going forward. Reckon they would've given better sides than this France XI a run for their money.

don't give a stuff about ireland, but i love to see france fall apart, particularly enjoyed the ole-ing in the second half :D

Very true. Being clinical has generally been their problem against sides they've played well against, and tonight they've showed that they have the abilities to beat a strong side. Definiely interesting to watch, but they miss far too many chances to be too successful. Genuinely hope they do well though, they'll give this competition a bit of spark for now.

Yeah to be fair Mexico were good tonight, very good. They were solid at the back, functioned brilliantly as a unit in midfield and Hernandez is an absolute machine. Looking forward to seeing him in the Prem next season.

I think a lot of teams have been guilty of that in this tournament so far though. There seems to have been such an air of complacency in the final third, especially among most of the big nations. I can't work out whether it's because they don't want to make themselves look too good in the early group stages or whether they're just pissing about. It's an attitude that's already bitten Spain and France on the backside, though in Mexico's case you're probably correct in saying it's a just lack of technical ability that's causing this.

I'd go with this yeah. Vela and Dos Santos, both very quick but erratic at the same time. Franco obviously has some quality but he was obviously not deemed good enough for another West Ham contract, and Blanco, for all his experience and popularity, is 37 years of age and has no legs anymore (very good penalty though).

Don't buy into the theory that Uruguay and Mexico will play out a draw, neither side will want to face Argentina. I think Mexico are the best side in the group and should go into the Uruguay game looking for victory.

Might be a good thing for Mex that Vela got injured as well, Pablo Barrera was absolute mustard when he came on. Hernandez should now also have cemented a starting place.

You'd have thought so. His international goal-scoring record speaks for itself.

Mexico looked pretty decent against England recently, not too surprised to see them doing well. France on the other hand are a shambles and i shan't be sorry to see them exit at this early stage.

Gonna have to lump on the draw in the Mexico - Uruguay fixture.

Au Revoir France.

Don't forget Germany, Argentina and the Netherlands who should've won by bigger margins. I'm seriously think the ball (especially at altitude) has played a much bigger role than FIFA are willing to acknowledge. The evidence is overwhelming when you look at the number of attempts off target, stray long passes, keeper clangers and misjudged headers.

True enough.

If they play out a draw Mexico will in all probability have to play Argentina in the round of 16!

So do they go for it or not? Or an easy game taking nothing out of the players, no injuries, no cards, no bother. Looks like a 0-0 to me.
