The only way I'd ever consider putting England anywhere near on an equal footing with Leicester again would be if they developed a squad of players who had this kind of passion. Being selected for your country is an absolute honour and the enthusiasm you show when you pull on your nation's shirt should reflect this.

Sadly I don't see this happening any time in the near future so it'll continue to be City > England for me for years to come.

If England won the World Cup, I'd get a bit pissed on the evening, spend a few days in a good mood and then forget about it till I go abroad and have banter with German tourists.

If Leicester won the FA Cup, I'd lose the entire weekend in London in an alcoholic haze, bask in the brilliance of my club being lauded in the press, spend the entire summer buzzing and saving money for the European tour that came with it and have perhaps the greatest ever season as we hit the continent and enjoy some of the atmospheres that come with it, being in the middle of pyro shows would be orgasmic.

No brainer.

Pretty much the same, though not quite as dramatic in terms of the following season's insanity, for promotion via winning the league or play-offs. England winning the World Cup would be immense and something to share with the whole country, but seeing the club I've supported at places like Walsall, Swindon and Peterborough getting to mix it at the highest level would be superb.

I'm sorry but this is utter rubbish.

46 games in a season to accumulate as many points as possible but from now on England are playing knockout football, course you'd rather see England win Wednesday night! Don't see the great obsession with some people on here thinking it's 'cool' to be distant from the national side when if, however unlikely it is, we were to win a major tournament, you'd be as happy as the next person.

You see Leicester every week for starters and the feeling for England is only compounded by the horrible bunch currently playing for them. It's nothing to do with being 'cool'. For example, if King was to break his ankle...I'd feel more for him than I would if Terry broke his.

Definitely Leicester City before England, in fact I if Leicester had been playing Algeria we would have shown more spirit, energy and determination to win.

Not from circa 2003 to circa 2008 they wouldn't,

So between 2003 to 8 you'd have picked England over Leicesterdunno.gif

No, I think we've got our wires crossed here.

All I and Prospero was saying was about last night is that this current Leicester team as of 2009/10 would be better v Algeria than the England team played on June 18th 2010.

I don't really think i'd ever pick England over Leicester, I'll jump on the England bandwagon during the competitions but can't really say I can sit and enjoy England matches, just enjoy the excuse of a piss up and shout - Who doesn't!

I don't quite know why the 2003 - 2008 Leicester teams are being bought into this.

Leicester winning the FA cup is looking more likely than England winning the World Cup this year!!

Definitely club before country for me. No doubt about it.

Club definateley. This is my opinion so don't slag it off, you have yours and i have mine. I'd rather see Leicester get into the Prem than to see England win the World Cup, Club put more passion and desire into it than the Nation. :scarf:

Surprised to see people prefer club over country. Maybe if England werent making such a pathetic mess of things......................

I'd rather see England win the World Cup than see Leicester get promoted.

Club over country, but it's not a choice we have to make.

I'd still be absolutely over the moon if we won the World Cup. beat Slovenia.

It's like asking whether you want dinner or pudding, I want it all one doesn't exclude the other.

Agreed, but if pushed I'd want the World Cup this year and the FA Cup next.

Scratch my previous post - I'd rather Ireland won the WC than Leicester won the Championship this year just so we'd have the same number as England :trumpet:

(we'd still win the playoffs though  )

I went to Euro Championships Engand V Portugal and WC 2006 England V Paruguay.

England V Paruguay Was a horrible experience, hardly any TRUE Engalnd fans. It was full of big multinational Corperate toffs on subed expencences in tents drinking champers before the game. No atmoshere. Not been to Engalnd game since. However, I am considering going to Brazil for the next WC simply for the atmosphere and Brazil being the spirtual home of football.

Leicester all the way.

I've always preferred club to country since I was about 12. Your club is closer to your heart imo because it is usually in the general area where you were born or live.

I know enough people who go on about how much they love their country and yet they hate people from the next town/city or even just across the river! That is not loving your country.

I love England but when it comes to football I've been disillusioned with the national team for at least 10 years and I think a few of the players are dicks and have no love for them at all. They don't represent any English lad I know and it's a shame they don't show the same respect and passion that the fans show them.

I definitely feel more passion towards Leicester than I do England but I think this is because I feel more involved when I watch Leicester. When I watch England I always feel a bit helpless, frustrated and even, over the last few years, bored!

I think this has a lot to do with the type of football England play. The lack of passion and creativity really get on my tits & where this whole 'lets pass it across the back four, then back again 4 times because we couldn't possibly try & play the ball FORWARDS' thing came from I don't know!

Despite that, personally, I would rather see England win the world cup than anything else happen in football. For me, the world cup is the pinncale of the sport! It would mean so much to the country as a whole & the whole occasion would just be priceless. Possibly a once in a lfetime moment!

Wouldn't mind Leicester picking up a bit of silverware at the same time though ;)

I genuinely feel more my country than my club.

As a player, it would be the best day of my life if I ever got to pull the three lions on.

I have given a group stage match against Slovenia much more thought than I did the play off matches with Cardiff and I can't fucking wait until tomorrow, will be brilliant if we get through to the knockout stages.

Personal preference I guess.

Arent you an Arsenal fan though? who used to be a Leicester fan?

Club every time. These overpaid prima donnas who 'play' for England dont deserve my support to the extent my club does!
