More likely to have to settle for Mowbray.

It's amazing what one bad season can do for a manager. Before Mowbray went to Celtic he would have been way out of our league and people on here would be spaffing themselves at the thought of him coming to Leicester. Now people will just settle for him, some people don't even want him? Amazing.

Well, he was a great manager. Doubt we'll ever know how this ended up happening. Bye Nige! Two victories next season and not taking our best players please

The worry is that one or two failures can pretty much fvck up a manager's career for good. Ian Holloway was the exception rather than the rule as there is a long history of managers doing badly at one place then sinking without trace thereafter. That said, if Mowbray is still the same manager he was for West Brom in 07-08, I'd take him pretty quickly especially with no compensation package to pay.

The football was SHITE under Pearson, and I dont waste my money watching that crap, I am really REALLY glad here's gone.

I just hope we appoint Sousa, I think would get us playing the right way, and I'm sure the results will follow.

Never liked Pearson, especially when he dissed one of the nicest guys around, Ian Stringer.

Very glad to see the back of that sour face Pearson...:trumpet:

I am not bitter, but I never liked Pearson's football, or his attitude in front of the camera's.

Who let me back on ?.....I don't beleive I've ever been away.

Pearsons football reflected the person, boring, conservative, Very sour.

I'm glad he's gone. Now I might even buy myself a top notch season ticket!...

Bye Mr Pisson.......And Don't let the door hit you on the arse!.......:crylaugh:

OK, you're blind. We get it!

From Hull City Website.

Nigel Pearson says the desire shown by Hull City to bring him to East Yorkshire made his decision to move to the KC Stadium an easy one.

Pearson yesterday signed a three-year contract to become the Tigers' new manager and while the speed of his move from Championship rivals Leicester came as a surprise to some, the 46-year-old is delighted with his new role.

"Once I found out how much Hull City wanted me it became quite an easy decision for me," Pearson told www.hullcityafc.net

"I'm delighted to be here now and I'm looking forward to what is a crucial part of our preparation for next season.

"I had a pretty informal chat with Adam Pearson and Russell Bartlett and they talked about their aspirations and how they saw the Club moving. They see me as somebody who has got a chance of realising those aspirations.

"We all want success and it's going to be a big challenge. There's quite a bit to do and off the back of last season, there'll be a number of issues for us to address. But it's an opportunity for me to come into a club and change things somewhat. I want to be successful and so do Hull City.

"It's a fresh challenge and I'm bringing one or two staff with me who will be very important for me and for the Club."

Those staff include Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh, both of whom worked alongside Pearson during two successful seasons with Leicester City.

"Steve will be Head of Recruitment and assistant manager while Craig is assistant manager and first team coach as well.

"They both have different skills and they both bring a wealth of experience with them. We've had a bit of success and we're all looking forward to what is a very different challenge."

Pearson and his staff are now looking forward to next Monday when the players return from their Summer break for the start of pre-season training.

"I've seen what we've got on paper, but I think the most important thing at this stage is to see them in person and see how they are, not just in terms of what they bring and their physical condition, but also where they are mentally in terms of dealing with last season's experience.

"This is a fresh start for a lot of people and it will be interesting to see how the players respond."

It seems he's not gave the Leicester a fans an ounce of thought in his departure. Just shows what he thinks of the fans i suppose.

Well on the local radio lunchtime sports news here he seemed to make it fairly clear that what had instigated the move to us was the fact that Leicester had given their permission for us to speak to him, more or less insinuating that if that was the case that Leicester can't have been that bothered about keeping him!

Who knows what goes on in the corridors of power?

Cheerio Nigel, thanks for the 2 years but im hoping you take your new 'team' straight down another division and playing League One football where i believe Hull should be.

I read that as:

'I've bought Shakespeare and Walsh with me because without them I'll be found out.'

Me too!.

Listen I have always thought the bloke a bit of a cock and slagged him because of it, but if he deserved praise he got that too!

We all know Bum-face Serb hasn't a pot to piss in and we all can speculate as to the reasons why Nigel "One Dimensional" Pearson has left but to me the relationship had simply run it's course.

NP was unemployed, got a job with Leicester, boosted his "credentials" , and left at the right time.

Another gaffer will come in, do a job and leave one way or another.

Bum-Face will end up in nick and sit there and rue the day he thought he was an English football Messiah!

Plenty of wealthy chumps had the option to stump up and buy the club before Bum-Face, no-one did (quite sensibly too!)...

The bloke is a chump, we know that, Nige knew that too and took his opportunity when it came along.

Can't blame a man for looking after himself in that respect..

Good Luck Nigel...Your perfectly timed jump from the ship will show the ****** that you are an intelligent man after all, even though you are a very mediocre football tactician.

Big meh to the whole thing. We won league one with the best squad and (probably) the biggest budget in the league. Then we finished 5th in the championship but never really looked in it in the playoffs. Granted it went to penalties but a victory for us would have been hugely unjust for Cardiff. As it is we're now a respectable championship side, which is what we have been, on average, since the beginning of time. Not trying to take any credibility away from Pearson because he did a solid job, but i think we became so accustomed to the seemingly endless list of bafoons at the helm that when somebody came along who was simply competent, we all put the Pearson on a pedestal and wrongly hailed him as a messiah. He wasn't. Bring on the next manager. Mandaric made a good appointment last time. Lets hope he gets it right again now.

This thread really shows how fickle football fans are.

I believe it is known as sour grapes. I find it quite amazing that all these posters are now criticising the man when if anybody had even dared to mention his style of football this time last week (Dangerous Tiger and Marbella Dave apart) they would have been shot down in flames.

What is the problem with Pearson's appearance to the media? He got results. Holloway did all the quips and one-liners but didn't get results with us.

Managers are just employed by the club whereas we are bonded to the club for psychological reasons which are difficult to explain. Managers move on while their stock is high or otherwise they get sacked. NP had no previous links with Leicester so an easy choice to move on.

One factor that hasn't been mentioned a great deal in posts is that NP still lives in Sheffield so its an easier journey to work compared to travelling to Leicester.

Maybe Pearson could only take us this far - with his knowledge and for this I thank him for me being proud of my club again - and now it is up to somebody like Sousa as we continue onwards and upwards. I definitely agree with what you say here mate.

I hope Pearson has the worst year of his working life and hull get relegated. I feel like i've just been dumped.

I don't care who gets the fooking job, they'll never be Pearson.

*weeps*
