hackneyfox Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 I just think it's poor that before a ball is kicked he's made his mind up. He's not my first choice but if he gets the job we should get behind him 100% and will him to succeed not withdraw our support immediately in protest. And yet you posted at 11:11 I'm over the disapointment of losing NP. Now i'm just excited at who's gonna come in and what will they bring to the table. In 6 months time we can say whether or not his is the disaster everyone is making it out to be (and lets remember, when NP was appointed it wasn't exactly considered a popular appointment). Until then, lets just support the team and whoever the new man turns out to be. Apart from if it's Dowie. I hate that twat. So what does that say about you? Hypocrite, slack supporter?
Koke Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Is it just me who doesn't give a shit that he's gone? It's obviously disappointing, but meh....He done a good job for us, but he's hardly irreplaceable. I honestly don't care who we get now - not that I don't love this club, but I've stopped worrying about who we appoint as a manger or which players we sign. It's too much of hard work to be so emotionally involved in football as we are.
1964FOX Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 He has gone now so we need to forget about him and support the new manger when he arrives. I still think we will have a decent season as our young players will improve even without NP here. We may lose the odd player but will still have some decent players left, some of whom were not played last season or played out of position. I can't deny NP did a good job but as numerous others have stated we can move on from this and he is definately not MON. If I'm honest have no clue who Mandaric will go for but do agree we should not even consider Dowie. If anyone wants to start a petition to give to to Mandaric I will gladly sign it. We could call it 'Anyone but that f***ing twat.'
Bettsj2 Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 And yet you posted at 11:11 I'm over the disapointment of losing NP. Now i'm just excited at who's gonna come in and what will they bring to the table. Doesnt say anywhere in there that i wouldnt go down to the matches so i'm definitely not a hypocrite.
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 One word to sum up this move... "Bizarre" MM has come out with the usual mumbo-jumbo and will go about replacing a "good manager" with another "good manager" to carry on the "strong foundations that have been built up over the two years". These strong foundations... Will only hold up if none of the players decide to do something bizarre as well. If players walk out to Hull it is to the detriment of their playing careers imo. I'm all for what NP has done, great, good job done. SO FAR. And it's not done. He's walked out with a job half done and for that I don't hold him in such high esteem as before. As for reaction Hull at home, it depends on league position. If we're lower than Hull when he comes, he'll be booed. If we're above Hull, all's good. We need someone to come in, keep the squad and bring much needed attacking flair to play. We need to be more adventurous and go for games. If there's one criticism aimed at NP, too cautious, too negative, none more so than Cardiff home 1st leg. Cost us. But two good years at least. Cheers.
The Doctor Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 still a ridiculous move - all hull have that we don't is the parachute payments which would suggest that pearson is leaving for the money and nothing else. In which case he's a bit of a tw@t and can enjoy his one way trip back to league 1.
hackneyfox Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Doesnt say anywhere in there that i wouldnt go down to the matches so i'm definitely not a hypocrite. "Until then, lets just support the team and whoever the new man turns out to be. Apart from if it's Dowie. I hate that twat. " How else can the above be read then? Everybody is feeling a bit down at the moment and they don't need to be told they are talking balls.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 I love how virtually anyone attacking Hull is just rising to some of the bait, it's making me cringe. Just calm down, it's only football. When Dowie gets appointed, that's when I'll go and support Hibs / Rochdale full time. This next appointment is really, really crucial, if all the past two seasons are undone instantly, I'll self harm.
tony soprano Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 you cant appoint dowie a man whos track record is getting teams relegated at a steady rate hes so bad i wouldnt even want him to manage my sock drawer
OzFox Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Not that fussed personally. Pearson was a straight talker with a good eye for a player, but at the end of the day he's just another results driven, "safety first" merchant. Some of our football last year was about as entertaining as this Paraguay/Japan crap going on at the moment. Maybe if he'd played more than one up front in the play-off semi, he'd have had a bit more money to spend
carterfox90 Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 8-1 ian dowie that fukker better not get lower haha i cant believe that dowie will ever be given another chance, he is the angel of death psml but so so true if he gets it cus milan likes him my ST will be going back & i've been a holder for 25 years
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 I wonder if Gary Mills is being considered - currently boss of Tamworth?? Then again, Cloughie has hardly set the world alight at Direby and Mark Cooper was poor at the Posh.
hackneyfox Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 By the time Dowie gets appointed most teams are already doomed.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Wouldn't shock me if we got Peter Taylor, Milan wouldn't give a fook. I'm not that fussed about Pearson going to be honest. All ways found his football quite negative but you probally found out Milan was trying to sign Pires and Pearson told him to fook off like Allen did when he wanted to sign Folwer and Hasselbaink. Pearson done a good job at city but now i hope he's fooking sacked by christmas. Hull are one of the biggest micky mouse teams in the championship.
Sods Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Cheers then Pearson. Got to get over this now, need to see the positives, we have a squad ready to compete for the top half in place, players such as N'Guessan and Adams will only develop further and can see them both stepping up this year. The squad is another year more experianced with Hobbs, Morrison, King and Weale all getting regular 1st team championship football. Reports of Tunchev being close to being fit again and half of the season we missed Matty the saviour Fryatt. If we are looking at players that could leave, I can't see Hobbs leaving after the words of what he has said about Leicester in the past, get him nailed as captain and he will stay. King has just signed a 5 year contract hasn't he? Fryatt still owes us something you could say, Morrison? okay I would like to keep the lad but he is replaceable. Who else could he go for that we couldn't afford missing is Wellens, however only just signed, Mandaric would want at least the money that we paid and more. A new manager will obviously see things in a different perspective, which has its benefits and obviously could get it completely wrong, I just hope we keep the core of this squad which I see no reason in why we wouldn't and kick on under the new manager and continue to play for the shirt. The main thing I am dissapointed about is the backroom staff leaving they definately could half find a talent, but their is more Walsh and Shakespeares around. I will be going next year, so all those tossers wanting a refund as Pearson won't be hear, make sure you doing come back in April when were fighting for the play offs again.
Matt Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Thanks Nigel, been a real enjoyable two years and you've restored some pride into supporting Leicester City again. The high respect I had has now been lost now and I hope you fail at Hull and the fans and board get on your back and make life misery while being there.
MC Prussian Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Fook off - hope they get relegated! C'mon, no one knows what it took Pearson to quit the post at LCFC. Can't really be angry with the guy, unless he did something blatantly obvious to be getting angry at. As for Hull, I guess they could offer him more dough, with the "Ex-Premier League Material" compensation package hardly a miracle to achieve. However, I share the sentiment that Hull do belong to the Championship at max. Two of the best years ever? Pearson stopped our downfall, re-instilled an almost lost winning mentality and helped bringing in promising players, both old and young that gelled mostly well under his and Shakespeare's influence. Compared to the six-year dross that preceded his "era", quite an achievement. Leaves the place as the most successful manager at Leicester City in terms of winning percentage ever.
Nod.E Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Central News just showed Steve Walsh (The centre back Steve Walsh,) lifting the League cup to illustrate the fact that Steve Walsh (The scout,) has left.
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Central News just showed Steve Walsh (The centre back Steve Walsh,) lifting the League cup to illustrate the fact that Steve Walsh (The scout,) has left. Yes, I'd noticed this. Can someone confirm that the ONE AND ONLY Steve Walsh is staying and that Central News have just shown total codswallop? Cheers.
davieG Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Yes, I'd noticed this. Can someone confirm that the ONE AND ONLY Steve Walsh is staying and that Central News have just shown total codswallop? Cheers. LCFC only employed one Steve Walsh and he's gone to Hull.
Salieri Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Ah well at least it's confirmed, now we can move on a look forward to the appointment of (hopefully) a decent new manager. Cheers for the last 2 years Pearson, you did a good job. Have nothing against Hull particularly, yeah they poached our manager but it's not like we haven't done the same many times in the past. I wouldn't go as far as wishing Pearson well, i hope he and Hull struggle next season.. I'm sure he'll rue his decision in the long run, the grass isn't always greener Nige. Losing Shakespeare and Walsh is just as big a blow, if not more. We signed some good players in the last couple of years, lets hope we can keep hold of them. So Sousa and Mowbray are the early front runners, wouldn't be too unhappy with either. Onwards and upwards.
markbsac Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Fook off - hope they get relegated! HERE HERE....TWO FACED BASTRAD
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 LCFC only employed one Steve Walsh and he's gone to Hull. What? Who's NPs backroom staff then? I thought he was going with two others. Walshie gave no hints last night on the radio that he was going.
