Samilktray Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Hulls rugby teams probably couldn't sell 50k tickets.

J.Lisemore Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Thanks for 2 brilliant years Nigel. Although, I hope you become a massive failure at Hull...look back and think...why?
Joe. Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 The way I see this thing now is that Hull have got extremely lucky with this Pearson appointment. They came in for him at just the right time when he is reasonably disillusioned with life here, Pearson sees the opportunity to jump over to a club of a similar squad stature with the knowledge that he'll be working for a sane chairman. Right place, right time and all that. Six months ago (if Hull were in the Championship) and he'd have probably had none of it.
Paleface Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 You lot really don't get it do you? The days of Keith Weller and Peter Shilton are long gone and I really think that, for your collective emotional well-being, you should try to let a little reality in your lives. You're a lower league club who, in recent years, have found your level in the natural order of things. Repeat after me: "Saying something over and over doesn't make it true" And breathe out.

When your mob were paddling about in the fourth tier earlier this millenium? Hope your lot go back there soon, and take your half-a-million fans with you.
Unabomber Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 And if my auntie had a cock.... You'd be too busy sucking it to be acting like a little retard on here.
Fox You Forest Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 And if my auntie had a cock.... You'd have two uncles... You do realise you're two days behind the good trolls don't you?
bluebeau Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Curbishley will probably go to Fulham. And as for DJ seeing it as a clean break, well what about the (tens of?) thousands of fans who despise him? I remember when David Speedie was signed by City, he really was hated by virtually every City supporter, BUT he soon won them round. How? He started knocking in the goals. By the time he finished he was a cult hero at City. We fans have short memories, so I see no reason why DJ could not become a super hero if he starts getting amongst the goals? I'm not saying that DJ will still be here when the season starts, but if he is, then imo he starts with a clean slate & good luck to the guy, 'cos he can score goals, ask Ian Holloway. NP couldn't bring out the best in him, maybe the new manager can?

It's not happened for him here under god knows how many managers and I don't see that changing anytime soon personally.

Right, we closed our respective old stadiums with a few months of each other. Let's have a look at the respective results of the last games at Filbert Street and Boothferry Park. Just to see what our respective recent histories look like. Filbert Street 2002: Leicester City 2 Tottenham Hotspur 1 Boothferry Park 2001: Hull City 0 Darlington 1 The days of Keith Weller and Peter Shilton may be long gone but at least we had them, while they were plying their trades in Leicester shirts you lot were busy playing the likes of Newport County and Halifax Town. You've had two seasons in the Premiership in 105 years and you call us a lower league club? Until 2008, we were one of only nine clubs never to have played in the lower leagues.
Houdini Logic Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 That is, quite possibly, the most cringeworthy thing I have ever witnessed...

Legend_in_blue Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Why do these so-called mauler football wannabes keep littering our forum with total nonsense? They're pathetic. Go home.
Guest Bilo Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 That is, quite possibly, the most cringeworthy thing I have ever witnessed... No. What we see is 3000 shirters waving their arms about like Broadmoor inmates impatiently awaiting their happy pills because we're fans of a lower league club. What it actually is, and you'd know this if you supported a massive club like Real Hull, is a post-modern ironic comment on insecurity regarding sexual preference that Chris Morris would be proud of. MAULED.
Edmund Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 Why do these so-called mauler football wannabes keep littering our forum with total nonsense? They're pathetic. Go home. I think it speaks volumes about their fanbase. They've got a couple of messageboards with about 5 active members. Their all too busy mauling each other.
Number 6 Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 When I think about the potential first 11 we could put out next season: Weale Morrison Hobbs Tunchev Berner N'Guessan King Wellens Dyer Fryatt Gallagher(?) I have to feel fairly confident. OK that team can't start next season but it could happen. With the addition of a left winger and a striker I'd be feeling pretty happy. Even if we got in no players and none left we'd have a decent team for next season's championship. I'm staying optimistic.
Finchy Posted 29 June 2010 Posted 29 June 2010 It's so depressing when you think we're losing our manager to a club like that. The gayest thing you'll ever see at a football match, it'll be funny when the Leicester Tigers start doing it tho.
Turtles Head Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 With a bit of luck he'll show hes a pretty average manager there. Agree with you there. Decent guy, made some good signings, some not so good. BUT, i think with our squad and someone else at the helm, we will still be at a similar level as last season. Assuming it's not some tit. Be well happy to see either O'Driscoll or Curbishley. More likely to have to settle for Mowbray, Lawrie Sanchez or Roeder. Keep Southgate and Dowie AWAY.
Alexikokopops Posted 30 June 2010 Posted 30 June 2010 You've hit the nail on the head. Similar clubs in all respects except the fact that Hull City probably have a few mill extra in the bank, making the manager's job just a tad more attractive don't you think? And for all the squealing going on on this message board ("Hull? ffs!" etc) the simple facts are that Pearson's new club has a battle-hardened squad used to playing at a higher level with a bit of money to spend to improve further. Recent history shows that however crap a team might be in the Prem, it's usually good enough to piss the Championship. You could argue he has a squad that are used to "playing at a higher level" and that we're a squad that are demoralised after a crushing play-off defeat, or you could similarly quite convincingly argue that we're a club on a high that after a promotion and play-off shot where as you're squad could be stuck in a losing mentality (much like we were before relegation to League One) after a poor season and a half. I'm not saying one way's right and one is wrong, just that football is so subjective you could argue pretty much anything. You lot really don't get it do you? The days of Keith Weller and Peter Shilton are long gone and I really think that, for your collective emotional well-being, you should try to let a little reality in your lives. You're a lower league club who, in recent years, have found your level in the natural order of things. Repeat after me: "Saying something over and over doesn't make it true" And breathe out. However, I do find your description of us as a "lower league club" slightly baffling. Lower league implies, to me, hovering around League Two, and flirting League One, where as in the 115 years since Leicester joined the Football League, only one season has seen us outside of the top two divisions. This isn't a "my club is bigger that your club" or "we have more history and you're tinpot, blah blah blah", because quite frankly I couldn't give a rats ass about that (which is also why I find it odd your posting away so much on here; maybe I'm just too apathetic to care that much about what other fans think). Just merely pointing out that it's a bit of an odd description.
