Cropwellfox Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 A fair amount of stuff in there today from Mad Mandy, summarised as.... - Shortlist of 3 or 4 names in place which they are starting to approach today - Want a new manager in by the time the squad go to Slovenia next weekend - Looking for someone who plays attractive passing football - Taking some trips to talk to some managers - Flying a short distance abroad to talk to one manager who has worked in England so knows English football (*Mercury speculates Dowie on hols in Middle East) **Wonder if Swansea counts as abroad **??!!! - Signing Chris Powell on a long-term contract to be a coach - New Mgr will have money available but won't be bringing in massive numbers of players - On finances there are possibilities "to take the burden" off him "I am having a reall hard time. I have neglected my family and businesses abroad and they are suffering"
ramboacdc Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 thats an early print of the saturday mercury isnt it? didnt use to get to my shop in whitwick until at least 12pm. we will know soon enough then
lovelcfc Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 not dowie not coleman not southgate wouldnt mind souser
The Doctor Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 two contradictions by the mecury there, Plays attractive passing football, could be dowie on holiday. When has dowie ever played attractive passing football?
Webbo Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 If he's flying to SA I hope it's for Southgate and not Coleman. Fez's blog summed up last week quite well as well.
Fox92 Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Attractive football? Sousa is the one that plays attractive football out of the lot of them. Plus, he didn't turn up for the first day of training yesterday..,
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Attractive football? Sousa is the one that plays attractive football out of the lot of them. Plus, he didn't turn up for the first day of training yesterday.., It says flying from England. Doesn't say UK. Little trip methinks from East Mids to Cardiff International and on to Swansea!! Perhaps Sousa is still in Portugal.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Is Glenn Hoddle still doing that work with youngsters out in Spain? Hope its not him anyway!
markbsac Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 if its dowie or coleman they can say goodbye to me spending another penny at the walkers.....we do not need failed managers !
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Long shot for a 'manager who has experience in the Championship and now living abroad' - could it be Luigi Di Canio the ex-QPR boss??
Daggers Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 This has Kevin Keegan and red kits written all over it.
Pete_foxes Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 "Milan Mandaric says he told departed manager Nigel Pearson he loved him " I guess Milan was hoping for more than a working professional relationship.
Flynny Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 "Flying a short distance abroad to talk to one manager who has worked in England so knows English football (*Mercury speculates Dowie on hols in Middle East" Idiots. Short distance? Attractive passing football? Middle East? Dowie? Is Glenn Hoddle still doing that work with youngsters out in Spain? Hope its not him anyway! Actually wouldn't mind if I'm honest. Not a bad England manager until the... unpleasantness, and not terrible at Wolves really. Could well be. I'd be very surprised if we weren't at least trying to talk to Mowbray too.
Jay Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 The thought of Ian Dowie getting the job make me want to projectile vomit, no no no no no It always amazes me how the same shite names get churned out time and time again, Peter Reid must have been linked as a favourite for every job in the last 5 years from England to Grimsby some of these blokes must have good agents
Mack Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 1/ How many of you are harboring a 'Milan is a Leicester fan t shirt in your wardrobe? 2/ How many of your have since used it for decorating the spare room in? 3/ Did you also buy the CD single? 4/ If so will you burn both when he employs some complete disabled as our new manager? 5/ It's obvious he has had enough and wants out and will flog to anyone who comes up with the asking price. 6/ It would'nt surprise me if it is'nt something to do with the court case.
Manwivaplan Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 not dowie not coleman not southgate wouldnt mind souser or lambert!
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 It says flying from England. Doesn't say UK. Little trip methinks from East Mids to Cardiff International and on to Swansea!! Perhaps Sousa is still in Portugal. Dont Rule Out Dave Jones.
Guest Bilo Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Manager who has his teams playing attractive passing football and is abroad? How long before the Tigana rumours resurface then?
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Manager who has his teams playing attractive passing football and is abroad? How long before the Tigana rumours resurface then? Has just taken control of French team Bordeaux from Laurent Blanc who is the new French manager.
Guest Bilo Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Has just taken control of French team Bordeaux from Laurent Blanc who is the new French manager. Thank Christ for that then! Couldn't take a summer of that again. Seriously though, this just proves it has to be Sousa in my mind. Didn't turn up to Swansea training yesterday, has his teams playing attractive, passing football, has some history of success in this division and the use of the word 'England' as opposed to the 'UK' makes it seem likely MM will be catching a domestic flight to Cardiff with a drive across South Wales thrown in. Case closed I think. The real interest now is the speculation that Sousa fell out with the Swansea board over lack of transfer funds and he looks to be coming to a club that won't have much in the way of that either. Unless of course the takeover comes to fruition, which Mandaric has finally admitted is a possibility. I'm beginning to expect seismic change at LCFC over the next few weeks.
