The Doctor Posted 29 July 2011 Posted 29 July 2011 I ****ing love my re-gens. lost 5-3 away to Leverkusen in CL 1st knock-out round, so I brought my 19 year old epic German striker (145 goals in all comps over the past two seasons & already into the 50's on this season) back into the side following a silly suspension. The kid hit all 5 in a 5-1 home win to send me through. Edit: Back to Germany for 1/4's, lost 3-2 to Gayern in first leg but had two goals disallowed while their 2nd was pretty dubious. And here's some screen-shots of my favourite re-gen, attributes and scoring record for each season:
shen Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Vauxhall penultimate chapter: Hmm, where to start... ? After the Championship season finished I was left with a pretty decimated squad and short of quality for the Prem. I got the message that my tiny stadium would need to have the terracing converted to seating, and it looks like the expansion will take the capacity to a massive 9000. In the meantime, I'm groundsharing with Everton until December which I'm absolutely ecstatic about as it doesn't look like it's costing me a dime! That was absolutely vital as I finished both the League One and Champo season in red, despite being well inside wage/transfer budgets and even making a transfer profit. Already been through 8 friendly cups which have earned me around £5mil in gate receipts, so thank you for that Toffees!! I've had an extremely long pre-season and maybe the most important one in this career so far, scouring every inch of the market for some much needed quality. Unsurprisingly, I've had to go for young regens and oldies. Got a transfer budget of £19mil and a wage budget of £220k (Champo squad was on £80k post-promotion bonuses) and I'm more or less maxed out. Ins: Pearson (2,5m); Delfouneso (1,6m); Sunny, Gurpegi, Hradecky, Bolatti, Evra, Nangis, Gazzi and Ngoyi all on frees with a further 11 regens coming in for a combined £29mil (most are installments) Outs: Borja (40k), Catala (1m), Carlinos (375k), Russotto (2,5m), Stanca (825k), Abbiati (250k) and a further four regens for a combined £1,8mil Feeling confident, despite my defense still looking frail. My mission? Win the League or FA Cup and merely survive in the Prem. The plan is to get into Europe to allow me to attract quality of a high enough standard to chase that CL place next season. I think it's possible if I focus on the cups, as my squad is probably only good enough for midtable this season. I've set the bonuses accordingly and now it's fingers crossed!!
The Doctor Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 damn. Started a new game as AFC Wimbledon, had no idea who to sign so just started signing shit ex-Leicester players. Got my midfield trio of Levi Porter, Jason Jarrett & Josh Low. Brought in Elvis Hammond but Ade Akinbiyi rejected me while Trevor Benjamin failed his medical.
Richard Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Just got a new owner - some Italian bloke. Got a message from him saying although he was considering replacing me he would let me fight for my job. Cheeky ****, 2017-2018, under my reign Leicester have become the biggest club in the world, winning numerous trophies and reaching 7 successive FA cup finals. I had this, Champions league, Premiership, FA Cup winners and everything and then when we're sold the board say they're going to replace me with Alan Curbishley! I did manage to keep my job at the end of the season. I took up the England job that summer and ended up being replaced by Carlo Ancelotti...
sdb Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Doing well with Leic, halfway through 2nd Season in Prem and in 6th. Should finish top half. Still hitting the bar AT LEAST TWICE, EVERY GAME!! Even though i've trained strikers loads. Annoying...
That lad from Japan Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 I had this, Champions league, Premiership, FA Cup winners and everything and then when we're sold the board say they're going to replace me with Alan Curbishley! I did manage to keep my job at the end of the season. I took up the England job that summer and ended up being replaced by Carlo Ancelotti... On 2010 this happened after winning CL two years in a row and PL 4 in a row. Got replaced by Marting Ling who completely ruined my team. I got job at Real and 3 seasons later id won CL twice and Leicester were midtable League1. STUPID
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 2020 with Spurs, after 4 league titles in a rown I'm aiming to get a 5th. Won two CL's in 4 years, but cant manage to do it back to back. Moving into the Perryman Arena in October and will have a capacity of almost 60k. I used to get offered the jobs at places like Man Utd, but Spurs are the biggest club on the game now, well have the highest European rating thing, and since my takeover are almost the richest too.

LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Look at the other pics!! Yes but that doesn't show the 10/11 season which is the one im in! Plus when I search for him nothing comes up.
New England Fox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Yes but that doesn't show the 10/11 season which is the one im in! Plus when I search for him nothing comes up. He already said he's a regen. Plus, if you look at the date of his screenshot its April 2018, which means if he did exist in your game he would be 11 or 12 years old.
sdb Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Exciting times. Finished 7th with LCFC in my 3rd season, 2nd in Prem. No way of breaking the top 6 as far as I can see. Anyway, Ferguson, Redknapp and Houllier all retire. Spurs offer me a job...tough call. Gonna think it over. They've just finished 2nd and have a tidy squad. Still hitting the bar 3 times a game. Infuriating.
Vardinhio Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Having managed Leicester for a few years and losing in the playoffs twice I am Blackpool manager and again Ilost in the playoffs! Grrr It is 2017 now and my squad is below. Currently 8th in Championship with no money to spend and the club hemoraging money: Scott Loach Frank Simek Phil Jagielka Filippo Tassoti Matthew Connolly Scott McGinn Mehdi Abied Simao Martins David Bentley Dusan Djuric Leigh Griffiths Subs: Dimitar Berbatov Adam Bogdan Andrew Surman Steve O'Neil Luke Kelly Thomas Pragger Danny Simpson Really need to go up with with no money big teams come down and are so competitive. Bristol City are a firmly established prem side whilst Middleborough are buying the prem this season.

Vardinhio Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 That is a killer squad for the Champo! I must just be a rubbish manager then because I am hardly dominating. I do not really do much at all with training, presume that's where I have gone wrong?
Bugg Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Yes but that doesn't show the 10/11 season which is the one im in! Plus when I search for him nothing comes up. That's because he's a regen. They are randomly generated for every new game
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 He already said he's a regen. Plus, if you look at the date of his screenshot its April 2018, which means if he did exist in your game he would be 11 or 12 years old. shit could do a 10 year deal still!
shen Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 I must just be a rubbish manager then because I am hardly dominating. I do not really do much at all with training, presume that's where I have gone wrong? Training won't explain results as such. You just won't get the optimal development of your players. Tactics is probably where it's at
Night Air Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Has anyone started again with the summer transfer update? If so, what are the new signings like?

I think it's possible if I focus on the cups, as my squad is probably only good enough for midtable this season. I've set the bonuses accordingly and now it's fingers crossed!! What a season this is turning out to be! Started out great with three wins and one draw from my first four games before hitting a slump of four straight defeats. I suspected it would be bumpy with 21 new arrivals that haven't gelled at all. My aim was to win a cup though, and I had a big big slice of luck in the League Cup so far. Comfortably disposed of Rochdale and West Ham in the first rounds before being absolutely mullered by Arsenal only to equalize in the dying minutes and win on penalties. Next up Sunderland who were also disposed of comfortably and setting myself up for a semi-final clash against Man City... only Man City extraordinarily lost to Huddersfield at home! So that was a freebie into the final against Tottenham which should prove hugely tough (2nd in the league). It would be great if I could secure a Euro Cup place now already and focus fully on the league where I'm still, amazingly, in the hunt for the fourth CL spot (only five points separate 4th from 11th). On the player front it's all gone mad. Evra was first choice left-back and club captain, but I lacked cover. He inevitably went on to get injured for four months in my third game, so I had to bring in Billington and a young Spaniard as added cover. Needless to say they were all injured at one point with my only other option being suspended, which was a bummer. My main man in attack, a £9.25mil regen acquisition, took some time to get going but he looked amazing from day one, regularly going on unbelievable solo runs. Unfortunately, due to the size of my club I had to cave in during contract negotiations when I signed him meaning he needed a release clause of £19.5mil which Blackburn activated on the first day of the January transfer window. He was off, and so I had to frantically look for replacements with the transfer cash + the extra cash made available by changing my season objectives to mid-table mediocrity. I was a bit down as he was developing into a top class player, but I somehow managed to pull Buonanotte, Tardelli (how amazing is he!?!) and another very promising late bloomer regen giving me a whole new look attack force. They all hit the ground running, so now I'm seriously starting to believe I can actually achieve my goal of CL football one season early! Exciting times....
Simmsy Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 My board wouldn't up my funds a bit to sign Higuain at a price of £11m for Leicester, he was just the kind of striker I was looking for and he was prepared to talk and everything. Now there's a consortium planning a take over apparently, finally getting rid of Mandaric. (in case you were wondering, I've been using the same save since I got the game.) I just hope they don't sack me, as people have said has happened to them before with new owners.
Vardinhio Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Finished 8th with Blackpool in the 2017/18 championship season. No funds at all. Decided not to renew 35 yr old Jagielka's contract as was on 20k. My wage budget is only 190k. It is this season or bye bye Blackpool. I have to transfer funds so have gone for unproven youth players on frees. All my best player's contracts expire in 1 year so if I don't go up I can not renew them simply as I can not afford it. Leigh Griffiths has scored 40+ goals 3 seasons runnings!
The Doctor Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 left Scotland after a quarter final defeat to France in WC 2018 (better than England, eliminated in the group stage having missed out on WC 2014 & gone out in the group stage of Euro 2016 in between those two abject failures). Almost immediately had Spain (out in the semis), Portugal (group-stage) & France (semis) offering me their jobs.
ramboacdc Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 lost 4-3 to man u in the league cup semi final . gotta play forest for the 5th time in an FA cup replay. 5 bleeding times! 16 points clear in the championship after 29 games.

I played a great final and largely kept Spurs in check the whole game, but they got the rub of the green and got the winner in the 90th minute. So so bitter. It was a nice consolation though to beat Chelsea away in the league in the next game. Followed that up with a 4-0 win against Everton, another challenger for the CL spot allowing me to open up a four-point gap to fifth! But the rollercoaster continued with a body blow against Championship Bristol City who were absurdly lucky when beating me 0-1 in the FA Cup 6th round. Gutted as I felt it was winnable as well. Oh well, full focus on the league, let's get that fourth spot!!
