Guest ttfn Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Surely we can just say "5 in 5" and close this thread now. Please? What?! In pre-season?! Didn't Luther Blissett once score a hatful in pre-season for AC Milan and then turned out to be hopeless? That said, I am impressed.
SMX11 Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Apparently Blackpool have bid for him and triggered some kind of release cause. According to the pool fans on 606.

Edmund Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 It's a load of tosh. Deej has no clause in his contract
Master Fox Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Can't wait to get my replica shirt with DEEEEEEEJ on the back. tired of hearing from all of these moaning c*nts he's proved he's decent enough at this level now, and banging in the goals. Who else do you honestly think we could get in to replace him? It'll be like having a new striker for next season with DJ in the team. He'll score my goals than Fryatt too.
Fox You Forest Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/blackpool-football-club/Pool-to-smash-transfer-record.6444162.jp
davieG Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 http://www.blackpool...cord.6444162.jp Probably why he's number 32.
Little Nicky Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Don't like the look of DJ being number 32 and then reading that, I'd just come round to the idea of keeping him. I would honestly like to give the guy a go now, especially if Neilson looks like he's going to get another chance!
Shrenchel Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 "You don't need to be a rocket scientist to think about who we haven't got who scored in vital games for us." Bye Dudley.
doughnut Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Hang on, Blackpool fans were thinking it was DJ and Dobbie they were trying to sign. Its on sky sports website that they are about to sign John Stead from Ipswich. Maybe they are putting 2 and 2 together and making 5. DJ 30 goals and firing the foxes to promotion!! CMON CITY
Babylon Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 If he goes we'll get a big wedge for him, if he stays we keep a player in form... win win really.
Fox You Forest Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 If he goes we'll get a big wedge for him, if he stays we keep a player in form... win win really. Depends how much if any of that wedge he gets to spend.
Babylon Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Depends how much if any of that wedge he gets to spend. MM might be cutting back, but he's no idiot. I'm sure it would be a decent amount.
Guest Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 When IH says 'I offered more money today than I have ever done in my whole career – and I've been a manager for 14 years and have bought some decent players.' I was just trying to think who was signed when he was here and how much he spent as some rough idea of how much we may end up with (obviously dependent upon if it's definitely DJ and whoever else he may be after)? He signed Howard and Oakley for a fair wedge no? Sorry, switched into 'Murder She Wrote' mode for a minute there I may well, as always, be talking bollocks.
andy_croydz Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Hmm, don't like the sound of that. If Blackpool have offered around 2 million for DJ though, I think we should accept it.
STUHILL Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Hmm, don't like the sound of that. If Blackpool have offered around 2 million for DJ though, I think we should accept it. I think it will be closer to just over a million. 1.2 million is my guess and with one year left on his contract and his own wish to go play in the Prem for a year, then I think anything over a million will be accepted

STUHILL Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Well it's going to in excess of what we paid Derby for either Oakley or Howard - wouldn't that have been more than £1.2 mill. All I got from that article was that Holloway had offered more money for playerS than he had before, not for DJ in particular. He could have offered just over million for DJ and then 3million for the other mystery player!! But I will gladly be proven wrong. More money the better and the price would only have gone up with his performances in pre-season, showing he is still in form.
andy_croydz Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Well it's going to in excess of what we paid Derby for either Oakley or Howard - wouldn't that have been more than £1.2 mill. Davie G you might be impressed by my knowledge... Your sig... That pic is of the old scrap yard down underneath the old Upperton Road bridge isn't it?
Bert Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 We paid £1.5m for Howard and that i'm pretty sure of. If we're offered that money for Dj, it's not a case of just accepting, we'd HAVE to accept it because of our financial state, added to the fact that Dj seemingly still wants out. If he does go, we'll probably gain back what we paid for him, and for all we know won't be missing out on anything because he's not really done anything for us has he? Also, he won't be able to score against for at least one season!
davieG Posted 28 July 2010 Posted 28 July 2010 Davie G you might be impressed by my knowledge... Your sig... That pic is of the old scrap yard down underneath the old Upperton Road bridge isn't it? Yep.

He mentioned that scrapyard to me and showed me some pics, I was born in 1988 and I think it closed down in around 1994, I don't remember it at all though.

Yeah must've been around 94 when it closed down, certainly before I finished school.
