Joe. Posted 18 July 2010 Posted 18 July 2010 Francis Jeffers having a trial at Blackpool, looks like they may of lost interest in Deej. Ha! It's going to be a long season with the big boys for them Tangerines.
Guest Posted 18 July 2010 Posted 18 July 2010 No one can hardly moan about this thread when 72 of you want to keep him. Well 73 want to sell or don't give a fcuk about the little nobjockey anymore
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 18 July 2010 Posted 18 July 2010 Amazing how fickle people can be. Perhaps the problem was not DJ, but N.P. If he is prepared to knuckle down and work, we could well have our top scorer for next season here. Come on D.J. You now have a second FIFTH chance, so use it. Fixed
fosseman Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 Blackpool to sign Hulse. That's probably the end of the interest in DJ. Curses!!
Asherz Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 he may have had x ammount of chances but he bangs the goals in... and if the goals means wins then his wages will be worth the promotion to the premier league next season... if he is on near on a million per annum then if we get promoted because of his goals we will get around £20+ million.... worth it i would say and as someone else said please tell me a striker you can get for £1 mill who would bag goals like dj did at blackpool... and i dont want none of this football manager 2010 bollocks either....

But would he... Read the thread. The question is not his ability, a fit and firing DJ would be quality at our level, but his attitude and integration with our squad. He has said enough to piss a fair few people off over the last year or so, do you really want such a disruptive element in your dressing room? Even Blackpool who benefited from his goals last season do not seem that keen, what does that tell you? Secondly ask yourself whether the money he earns could be better spend elsewhere? Even at a cut price £500k that would free up £1.5m for the next year to spend on other new signings.
Jimbo Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 Amazing how fickle people can be. Perhaps the problem was not DJ, but N.P. If he is prepared to knuckle down and work, we could well have our top scorer for next season here. Come on D.J. You now have a second chance, so use it. 2nd chance?? Really?? DJ has never been bothered about playing for Leicester since Allen, the man who signed him, left. Megson came in, he was still gash Holloway came in, he was still gash Pearson came in, he had the same chance as everyone else to impress, but he didn't take it. Lets not forget that at the time Fryatt was half the player he is today. Pearson sent him out on loan, DJ uttered the words "I don't want to go back to Leicester though. Anything but that" Pearson gave him his chances in the side, he never took them for some reason. For some reason too many people think that this is Pearsons fault and forget that DJ is now entering his 4th year as a Leicester (a term I use loosely!) He was mis firing for Leicester before Pearson arrived. I think it says alot about his attitufde for our club when Holloway, a man who couldn't get DJ playing in a Leicester shirt, was credited for getting his career back on track by some. His general attitude stinks, he's all about himself. I can't believe people would defend him. Let's not forget that he himself scuppered a move to Blackpool not so long ago because he wouldn't accept their wage package. When they got promoted, and he knew more money was there in a higher division, he had the cheek to come out and say that he hoped Leicester did nothing to ruin the move for him. And on the subject of "his goals may get us promoted" What happens if he disrupts the dressing room and the team starts to under perform? What's better 20 goals alone from DJ or 15 from Fryatt, 10 from King and 5 from Dyer? I don't doubt that DJ has obvious talent at this level. He is a goal scorer and a very good striker, but we just may never see it while he is a Leicester player. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes at the moment, I don't know if he has made his peace and he may well perform this season, but he will always look back and regret his time here. And while I'm on the subject of him performing for us this year that leaves with another choice. Do we keep him for this season and he will leave for free next summer or sell him now, save money on wages and still receive some sort of fee for him? I'd sell now, he's not worth any more risk. Put it behind us, grumble because if he goes to anyone else in this division it's a certain fact that he will score against us, but then we can forget about it.
Bettsj2 Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 I cannot understand the people who would rather see one of the most prolific strikers at this level sold to a rival team (or Blackpool). I do agree that if we get a solid bid in for him upwards of £1 million, we may be inclined to get rid especially with the wages he is rumoured to be on but we really should keep him and he can leave for free at the end of the season. Name me one realistic striker we could get as a replacement who will score as many as he would for less than a mill?? Did any of you wanting him to leave see his performance for Blackpool in that 2nd leg at Forest, the guy was unplayable?!! And to you gulliable lot who believe everything you read in the papers, he probably said he wouldn't be going back to Leicester while Pearson was in charge (because he wasn't getting picked). He was understandably badly shaken up after Allen left and he hasn't been given a proper chance since. Do you fickle lot remember him scoring two against Watford and kissing the badge in front of the Kop. If Sousa likes the guy, and why wouldn't he, then lets support and get behind him instead of forcing him out to one of our rivals and watch him bang a load of goals in like we did last season! Dont mean to be fickle old bean but he only scored the once against Watford. The other scorers were De Vries, Hume and Sheehan. Amazing how fickle people can be. Perhaps the problem was not DJ, but N.P. If he is prepared to knuckle down and work, we could well have our top scorer for next season here. Come on D.J. You now have a second chance, so use it. 2nd Chance?
Corky Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 he may have had x ammount of chances but he bangs the goals in... and if the goals means wins then his wages will be worth the promotion to the premier league next season... if he is on near on a million per annum then if we get promoted because of his goals we will get around £20+ million.... worth it i would say and as someone else said please tell me a striker you can get for £1 mill who would bag goals like dj did at blackpool... and i dont want none of this football manager 2010 bollocks either.... For other clubs. Hasn't done it here, 4 goals in 38 games. In a Leicester shirt he hasn't convinced, for whatever reason, several outlined in here before. Now if he stays and is involved next season I'll support him, because he's our player currently and getting on the manager's back this early on will do no good at all, and I hope he does well if/when picked, as the team will benefit. But I'm not sure he'll replicate his form from Blackpool to here, I hope I'm proved wrong but at the moment the jury is out.
Bert Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 DJ DID NOT SAY 'I don't want to go back to leicester, anything but that' - He even said this himself that the press twisted his words and things were took out of context.

dandannieldanok Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 Blackpool looking at Francis Jeffers..........seriously?!?!?
Jimbo Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 DJ DID NOT SAY 'I don't want to go back to leicester, anything but that' - He even said this himself that the press twisted his words and things were took out of context. He did, there is a video of it http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sports-video/DJ-would-consider-Blackpool-move.5197728.jp
Asherz Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 its simple really he has till january he bags us some goals and if he is scoring every game or every other game we keep him... if he is being a cock we get rid. i would keep him imo he shown what he can do at blackpool last year we have a new manager footballers are paid good money to play together. so they should just fooking do it... its a job its pays there bills its the same as any other job you have to work together to get results now i think the leicester team is mature enough to let whatever has been said go and start a fresh... media these days sensationalise things and twist words what people have said to get readers interested so they buy the paper or watch the programme its how they make there money. we need someone decent who can score goals along with fryatt he shown he can bag um and we need goals as the goals = wins so he should stay
Guest ttfn Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 He did, there is a video of it http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sports-video/DJ-would-consider-Blackpool-move.5197728.jp Hahahaha, hopefully that will shut the know-it-alls up for a while, good find. I am totally fed up with people saying he's a 'quality' striker at this level. As I posted earlier, he has only once scored more than 9 league goals in a season. I swear to God, if his name wasn't 'DJ' he wouldn't get a quarter of the attention he gets from the press and fans alike. When he signed I was excited, and soon realised I had no reason to be. He has no track record as being a quality footballer at all. One game (last season against Forest) does not make him a decent player. He is at best an average Championship footballer. If somebody can produce evidence to the contrary I am dying to hear it, I feel like I must be missing something.
hackneyfox Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 So Crouchback tells us that all the problems were caused by Pearson & Bert backs him up. Bert then tells us that DJ never said that he didn't want to return to Leicester. The video proves that to be wrong, so just how much else is wrong. He's had numerous chances He's always offside He misses sitters. He wouldn't sign for Blackpool before on a reduced wage, which I don't have a problem with, BUT then when HE is happy to go he doesn't want Leicester to ask silly money for him. That silly money would be a return on the 1.6m we paid for him (and from which he probably got 10%) and the 3 years of a weekly salary of 10-15k per week. And I'm not forgetting that he rushed back to Leicester to claim his payrise for our promotion last season. I have never booed a Leicester player but with him I could almost do it. And I'd never sing his name however many goals he scored if he were to stay. Pearson generally seemed to not interested in those players who showed no interest in our club. I don't care what the team think of him, enough of the fans dislike him, and then they end up being accused of being morons by others on here. And to those who keep rattling on about 'how can you dump a striker when we may only have Fryatt & Kermogant left' well there is something called the transfer market, the money saved on this coonts salary will go a long way. And we may well be playing 4-5-1 anyway. Ship the fooker out as a soon as possible. If we can't ship him out then Hang the DJ

Yeah, I was excited too, I remember it being at the same time we were chasing Robbie Fowler, then I went on the leicester site and saw we had signed Dj! Was dead chuffed.. I think he could be an exeptional player next season for us though, new manager , new start, you never know?
Walshy5 Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 Sometimes for whatever reason it just doesn,t work out for certain players at certain clubs. DJ will never be any good here and people need to realise that. Plus he doesn,t want to be here so for gods sake let him go!!!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 So Crouchback tells us that all the problems were caused by Pearson & Bert backs him up. Jimbo Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 I shall wait for an apology on behalf of all the gullible people as we only believe what we read. Yet those with the counter arguement believe they are right to read in the press that DJ had never said those words. I can't believe more of you haven't seen that video. I knew that it would come in handy one day during a discussion about DJ Campbell!!
Edmund Posted 19 July 2010 Posted 19 July 2010 This thread alone proves why it will be best for Deej to move on. If moronic fans like Jimbo and Hackney can't even read properly then it shows that these "fans" are purely in it for the spite and jealousy. You seem to overlook facts and post unsubstantiated bullshit. Bert was wrong, he did say those things but like I've said a million times it's not as cut throat as some people like to believe. There were circumstances which led to him feeling unwanted at Leicester yet people seem to think that he wanted out purely because he despised Leicester. He's only human you know. If you guys are to stubborn to accept facts then that's your problem. Carry on deluding yourself to try and justify your argument, it only makes you look silly.
