Salieri Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 So close yet so far, game of two halves. Feel free to add your own cliches.
MPH Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 May it be pointed out that DJ scored for CIty today....
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Disappointing, but encouraging a bit. Defence really needs working on, set pieces need working on, starting to look like Howard needs to play. We have to remember teams do sometimes start slowly, Forest had a shit start last year.
Salieri Posted 7 August 2010 Author Posted 7 August 2010 Fucking hell, there are even more morons on RL than there are on here.
Madrid_Fox Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Sounds like some city fans are writing the sequel to the damned united with enrique iglesias playing Paulo Sousa and anthony hopkins as Milan Mandaric
ScouseFox Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Spirited fightback, just too far behind after a horrid first half. Goals on SSN after the break, interested to see who was at fault for their goals.
Guest shearfox Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 I was quite surprised to not see Wellens start he is one of our best players and sounded good when he came on.
LCFCkid Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Middlesbrough also had a shit start nd millwall beat Bristol 3-0
Mort Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Sounds like some city fans are writing the sequel to the damned united with enrique iglesias playing Paulo Sousa and anthony hopkins as Milan Mandaric I'd watch that film!
CKB Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 *Nuts you in the face* I'm surprised you managed that? i heard rumours from RL that you couldn't nut anyone in the face anymore because you ain't fit??
Karljohn Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Crazy game, considering Sousa's Swansea were pretty dull last year in terms of goals for and against! Not sure what I can take from today other than the fitness levels need to improve to play this style. Gally should walk into the team even if its to just to work the dead ball routine. Positives DJ on the scoresheet, Neilson sounded like a 7 out of 10 instead of his usual 3. Oakley was shit last year, he's still shit. Wellens please.
ousefox Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 I was shot down at the start of the game for mentioning my disappointment in the team that was put out, but our team had nothing on the one that played Cardiff in the players last season with our bench looking particularly weak.. Neilson seemed to do okay but he is not good enough to start for us. Oakley is a decent player but how he could be put in the team ahead of Wellens who plays Sousa's passing football i find unable to fathom. First half was inexcusable and there was no way back after that. Saying that, we did hit the bar, have opportunities cleared off the line and apparently had some dodgy decisions given against us. Middlesbrough- Lamey or Morrison right back. Oakley out, Wellens in. Fryatt out Howard in. N'Guessan out Gallagher in.
Ozwin Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 I'm surprised you managed that? i heard rumours from RL that you couldn't nut anyone in the face anymore because you ain't fit?? RL will be the death of me I swear
ScouseFox Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 First goal was shocking defending, second was poor aswell, King's goal was great though. Anyway, roll on Tuesday, get a win, boost morale and then onto Boro
Salieri Posted 7 August 2010 Author Posted 7 August 2010 Just seen the goals on SSN. To say the defending was shambolic would be a massive understatement.
Flynny Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 I said in the match thread at one point that I suddenly miss Pearson as manager a lot more than I did once Sousa was announced, purely because we pretty much knew he knew what he was doing, and that we'd always bounce back. A loss under Sousa and we don't quite know what to expect next up, because he's new. Ownership, injuries, management. Everything's up in the air for Leicester fans at the moment. Lets not panic if it happens to go badly for a bit longer.
CKB Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Eeesssh! poor goals to conceed! first game of the season and all that but they were pretty poor Tony Gale earlier: Leicester ala Swansea of last year Tony Gale a min ago: Leicester will be good to watch this season going forward Jesus H Christ...pundits just annoy the fluck outta me!
Ozwin Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Shocking defending, we'd never have conceded them last year. Hobbs and Morrison didn't cover themselves in glory for the first and Nielson was at left back for the 2nd goal and got beat like he wasn't there .

Middlesbrough- Lamey or Morrison right back. Oakley out, Wellens in. Fryatt out Howard in. N'Guessan out Gallagher in. Neilson sounded like he did ok, but I agree he should only be back up, same for Oakley. We sounded very good going forward, hit the bar, had one cleared off the line, should/could have had a penalty. Would like to see Howard start from now on, it has got to the point (like it did in League 1) that we are better when he plays and he is so important to the team, he seems to just get everyone playing. Bemused why Wellens didnt start, must do if we are to play this passing style.
