Just back home after game as i live in West London.

they had 3 chances and took them all due to poor defensive mistakes.

2nd half was much improved and if we kept going down the right side we would have got a draw.

Neilson played well and did superb cross for the 1st goal and his throw set up Howard to cross it for DJ but still got picked on from the city fans.

I was at the game. I didnt think we played well first half, we didnt retain the ball and passes went astray. Neilson and morro were a bit shakey too. Second half was very enjoyable, the fans were fantastic all the way through, thanks to those who were there. I saw lamey in the dugout and if he is signed id like to see him away from it and on the pitch. Lots to look forward too, very early days!

Come on people, first half we were poor but going in level would have been fair. Second half only one team in it, unlucky not to get 3 points. Passion and spirit from the players bodes well. Good support aswell, stood all the way down. Not a bad start to the season.

Is lamey Dutch because I got a call today saying we'd signed a Dutch player

Yeah... but if he's a 5m Euro player then I'm the Dalai Lama.

I don't know why he'd say 5 million euro if it's lamey. Have any of his previous transfer fees been around that figure? That might be what he meant. He's not answering his phone

Just back. Morrison had an utter shocker in the first half, but nothing going forward except odd flashes from King and Dyer. Second half better, in fact a bit unlucky, but we'll have to improve at the back to be competitive this season. King man of the match for me, always looking to get into dangerous positions, unfortunately few of his team mates passed the ball that well. Dyer forced a great save from what would otherwise have been the equal of Weller's famous 1974 goal against Luton, and great pass from Howard for DJ's goal.

I know I'm going to get shouted at for saying this again, but once again, WEALE!!!

Their 3rd goal especially. Why did he not catch it? :(

But hey, I'm just going to get called a moron again or something for making this point, so.

Gd 2nd half showing though from the lads on a positive note! :)

PSV Eindhoven paid £3.870.000 for him from RKC Waalwijk in the 2002/03 season. If that is any help.

Weale was not at fault for the first and second goals. The third goal was from a point blank shot saved by Weale. You may or may not be a moron - I simply don't agree with you.

I've not seen the goals but he's been flapping about a bit since the end of last season. Fingers crossed he gets back to how he was.

A very worthwhile contribution from someone who did not attend the game or see the goals on TV!

No but I attended games last season and in preseason, and have seen him cocking up recently in many of them. I stated I didn't see the goals but the point is still valid as I've seen his other performances... if you can't see that then you are frankly beyond help.

You are as free to hold your opinion as I am mine. Weale was praised by the majority of fans last season but all minority views are of course welcome.

Our defence was truly shocking in the first half. Morrison was particular bad.

Its great to see our team pass the ball along the ground but we needed to get the ball forward quicker. Too much of Morrison and Hobbs giving it back to each other while Palace got all their men behind the ball. Sousa did a good job in the 2nd half though. I thought we looked like we wanted to attack a lot more and changing to 4-3-3 obviously helped.

I really like Dyer on the right he just skips passed players so easily when he cuts inside but the only problem is he can't get a cross in.

Howard was our best player. Great pass to set up DJ.

Im definitely not worried about this season. We will do very well.

I suggest you go back to my first post again and study it. Quite clearly I thought he played well last year as I said "I hope he gets back to how he was", that infers I thought he was/is good. Again from what I have seen he hasn't been the same player for a handful of games (can't comment on today yet). Could be loss of form or confidence but that's what it's looked like to me in the games I saw.
